  • The 2019 Subaru Forester is here and it has been totally redesigned. The Forester now rides on Subaru's Global Platform and features an updated 2.5L flat-four engine that is mated to a CVT transmission. It also has totally revamped exterior and interior. All models come standard with Subaru's Eye Sight technology. Find out if Subaru got it done with the risky job of restyling an icon.

On 12/11/22 I bought my 2019 Forester Touring with only 4,700 miles.
    It’s a Certified Subaru.
The previous owner had Michelin Cross Climate tires put on. They’re Awesome in the snow, ice, mud, wet and dry roads.
We get 5-6 feet of snow every winter and they’re great on our snow covered roads up here in the mtns where we live.

Subarus attention to detail is astonishing! People really don't give them enough credit with what they're doing nowadays. It isn't flashy and in your face, but once you start noticing all the minor details it just adds up! Sucks to see the turbo version axed but they just weren't selling. Everyone is gonna bitch and moan about it but probably wouldn't bother to buy one or to tell other people to get the turbo version over the N/A for so and so reasons. Great video as always!

I just brought a brand new 2019 Subaru Forester Premium Bronze color, I got mine for 25k, I love this car, the sport version was 34k but not to much different in features and trim, didn't see the touring version, it's so comfortable ideal for long journeys, we brought it due to our lifestyle as on our days off vacation we love road trips, camping, photography, exploring.
From reviews I've seen in regards to CVT transmission were not good But I'll put some trust into Subaru and hopefully they got it right this time.
Subaru have had a few years to perfect it's CVT as they always push their vehicles to the limit as lite offroad and Rally cars "I hope Subaru don't let possum bourne's legacy die".

The 2020 and newer Outback turbo has the 2.4L turbo producing 260hp.
The 2.5L in the 19 Forester and the 2020 and newer Outback has 182hp.

Mine is mint, mildly tuned, a few STI bits added and less than 80k miles and I won't sell it, will always be a my toy. DrWeeWe Such a predictably tired complaint. If everyone who complained about the lack of turbo bought the XT, Subaru would still be making them. Time to move on.

Lack of turbo sales is becoz of more price for turbos. Nothing else. Even v6 versions always sell less with any company when they have 4 cyl along with 6 cyl

The interior def a big change from the past dull interior of the Forester.
IMO i not digging the silver look of the rims. Prob a bit more gloss black to mask the potential brake dust build up.
Interesting the US model gets the bigger 2.4L engine.
Asia and the rest of the world is getting the 2.0 FB20 engine. No turbo model for the Forester is a big zonk to me.
Maybe a variant with the 1.6L Turbo unit from the Levorg would make up for the 2.5L unit in the past Forester.

    What’s Not To Like?
I don’t like that if you would rather not have a moonroof, your only choice is the base model. And if you would rather not have Auto Stop Start turned on by default, every time you start the vehicle, your choices are-nothing at all. Shutting down the engine every time you come to a stop will save about as much fuel as Subaru’s short-lived joke of a hybrid electric experiment, i.e. Bupkas.
