This is super neat-a combat game focused on its programming is a great idea. I’d personally probably try to go for an annoying team of all shotguns who’d circle and stay out of range until one unit of the other team is drawn out, then have them all swarm in for a quick kill before pulling out again.
I played an early version of this game a year or two ago - it is really cool! The career mode was fun, but for the only competitions I sucked, I could not beat anybody! It is a real challenge, I'm looking forward to see what kind of AIs will you make!
So i have this game, i personally think that the best comp is one of each: shotgun must always go toward resource, unless someone is aiming at him, in that case drop resource and flee, also set the shield at 50% for fleeing, and make them flee if 2(for sniper, shotgun and assault) or more enemies are attacking you(3 for the machine gun), this usually disturb enemiy AI of course you must also prioritize shooting at enemies that are carring resources and watch out for enemies flleing to fast from your sniper, because it will make him do no damage, maybe one of this days i'll get back on it and test more my AI so that if possible we can face each other in the arena (I have the phone version)

One of each class: Assault will go and collect resources, and if an enemy is within medium or short range, it tags it for the team, but it will prioritise tagging enemies that are attacking it from any range (to combat snipers), and keeps on going, unless no resources are within any range, in which case it attacks the enemy, but if it reaches less than 25% shield, it will drop the resource (if it has one) and retreat, unless no enemies are within range, in which case it is safe to just continue with the resource. Shotgun will go out and attack the enemy with the lowest health (by going into close range, and continues to fire at it in medium range, but it will move into short range if the enemy reaches long range), unless there is an enemy carrying a resource, which it will attack instead, using the same tactic. However, if an enemy has been tagged by Assault, it will prioritise attacking it to protect your harvester, but it will first kill its original target if the target has 0% shield and less than 25% health. It will retreat if it is below 25% shield. Sniper will move into medium range of a resource on the ground (is it possible to do this?), and will wait for an enemy to approach, firing upon any that get within medium or long range, unless they reach short range and the Sniper has less than 50% shield, in which case it tags the target for the team (using a different tag to Assault), and retreats to long range. If the enemy tagged by Assault is within firing range, it will prioritise shooting it before any other target, until it leaves range. Machine Gun will stay within short range of the Sniper, and will attack anything within all three ranges, unless the Sniper has tagged an enemy, in which case the Machine Gun will attack it until it either reaches a distance of long range, or the Sniper tags a different enemy. It will not start retreating from low shield until it reaches below 50% health, in which case it retreats from short range enemies if it has less than 25% shield, but it will still prioritise attacking a tagged target over retreating. This gives Assault an almost pure harvesting role, allowing it to quickly complete its mission, while Shotgun goes and chases off weak targets, as well as protecting Assault when needed. Sniper will move to ambush enemies, as well as protecting Assault if capable, all while Machine Gun ensures that Sniper survives to perform this task.
This game is out on mobile for a long time now. I can give you some tips: bots with low shields can go back a bit and shoot from long range so that hes still doing some damage and is faster back there if his shield is back up but be carefull he has to run away even furher if someone is still shooting at him. My snipers are shooting the furthest enemys, only health tanks are at the front, the easy targets are at the back. Shotguns are awful bad dont use them. they are geting rekt if they try Come close to enemys. Tell all robots they have to shoot enemys with lowest shield/health. Hope i could help you :)
You might like Dwarf Fortress. It is an insanely complex game (quite possibly the most complex game ever made), and there is so much you can do. Also, the bugs are almost always hilarious.
This is really cool, I think what's really interesting is you really need to use real world military tactics. So the machine gunner should fire until enemy = no shield, and of no enemy = shield then fire at closest. Then you have the sniper bot fire at longest range bots in highest priority. That example would mean that as the enemy bot retreats from its shield going down by your machine gunner your sniper can take it out and by the time it's done, the machine gunner has the next one exposed. It's just like real life military tactics.
I should say 1 shotgun to tag 1 machine gun to tank 2 snipers to abbliterate Edited 1 shotgun to tag 1 machine gun to tank 1 sniper to snipe 1 assault to harvest
I really like this game. I think a good strategy is to have two snipers, a machine gun and a shotgun. The shotgun and machine gun can go in and attack the bots closest to them, until they get rid of the shields (unless shields are below 25% when they retreat) and mark them for the snipers to start firing at them, this way you can pick the enemy’s bots off one by one without risking too much
For your team of four you should have first a shot gunner that will run up and tag the enemy then a machine gunner without a retreat node to follow and tank hits while two snipers take out the enemies from far away.
This is an awesome game. And I think you should do one sniper, two regular ones to gather and attack, and one shotgun to tag for the sniper and gather.
This game looks awesome. It reminds me of Carnage Heart, an early PS1 game from 1996. It used a cell based graphic programming system that was ingenious for its time.

from what i've seen, i'd say 1 sniper 3 machine gunners. sniper will be the leader, tagging enemies to focus fire. 2 machine guns will prioritize fighting while the third will prioritize gathering. sniper will always try and stay at max or mid range, with machine gunners tanking for it. all of them will of course have the retreat setup.
When I get my hands on this game I'm going to spend weeks working on the ultimate AI to destroy any opponent, only for it to collapse, and explode! If someone ends up making a ridiculously complex AI I'm gonna be disappointed if they don't call it the Googleplex.

Hello, I love this game and love your videos. Normally when you ask for suggestions I cant help but I can with this. It is like doge ball only not instant kill and their is another priority other than kill everyone. I Got an Idea for a team. If you don't use this then be ready to fight it. 2 MGuners one will carry the orbs and the other will cover him but if the carrier fails then the one who covers would take over the movement of the orbs. One Normal attacker who will fight the sniper if their is one and will also leave a tag for the last sniper on your team to finish the job.
Sooo, the shotgun guy could be good against the snipers, but you can protect snipers with an MG, then again you can kill an MG with a sniper... so many options... :O
What was that other robot turret upgrading game that was a mix between tower defence and a leveling up game? I don't remember the name but I so remember the turrets and the blocks and tower defences.

The reason it uses two separate attack commands is so that it will prioritize closer targets.
Fair left shotgun,middle left machine gun,middle right sniper,fair right shotgun.
