this is very different from how i thought the video would be, but i think there’s also like a deeper meaning to it. obviously the main message is that she’s looking back on the memories with this person as the events with this person happened years ago, but i think there’s another added element. the video has so many cute and silly moments with niki and it kind of strays away from the songs longing and sadder sentiments of the song. during the video i found myself smiling and laughing, but then again i’d think about how the songs actual meaning and i’d be stuck with a sense of longing among all the fun memories she’s trying to depict. it’s not just happy moments, it’s looking back on how those memories are no longer there with that person you miss. i guess the song is really trying to be the backburner during the happy montage. maybe i’m reading too much into it, but regardless this song is such a gem

this is my favorite song off the album and when i first watched this video i was laughing and smiling at all of these clips and then the last 15 seconds showing niki’s face after watching them really hit me and puts it into perspective and explains SO MUCH why this fits so well with the song. like i see it as her looking back at the good memories when she was in a relationship with the person the song pertains to and for a moment she enjoys the nostalgia but once the clips stop she’s back in the reality that while the memories were great, overall the relationship wasn’t and that’s why they aren’t together now, though there’s still that sense of longing and wishing things had ended differently
