The muster drill has changed. You watch the video on TV, call the number, then go to muster (assembly) station. Not all at the same time. You can do it as soon as you board.
Love to hear that muster drill has changed! It’ll be a night and day difference from the first time we sailed on MSC where they scheduled the sail-away party for the *exact* same time as when you needed to be in your room to watch the video! 🤷♂️🤨🤷♀️
I was on Magnifica last week. My favorite ship by far. Previously Seascape and Seaside. You are 100% right about older MSC ship conditions. Muster drill much easier. You can go directly to station when you get on board and you are done. Never had to call number. Embarkation and disembarking 5 minutes tops. Best cruiseline! I can compare Royal NCL and Celebrity. Blows them all away. Booked World Americana and Divina. Divina looks incredible! Can't wait. Also you are 100% right about Ocean Cay. Thanks
Magnifica is Chris’ favorite too! Loved the art deco style! So happy to hear about the muster drill! 🥳 MSC is changing… and we’re all about those changes! 🤪😊🤪
David, you will LOVE Divina. The Garden Adult pool & bar area at the aft of the ship is the one of my favorite parts of that ship. Divina overall is one of my fave all time MSC ships.

Just wanted to share my story so far and haven’t even cruised yet !
Originally, booked for SEASHORE on the short cruise July 4th in a Oceanview ( we have always been Balcony ) . We booked early in March . Bella , no drink package , no excursions in Nassau .
Sine then , we received a free upgrade to a deluxe balcony on deck 12 . 😃😃😃
Yesterday , for some unknown reason , I went to the website and saw the flash sale on the drink package . We ( the wife and I lol ) knew we made a mistake by not getting it when we booked so we had been going back and forth on easy - easy plus .
Well that sale settled the argument for us . With the savings on the drink package , we are now going to take those funds and get the two dinner special .
We have never sailed on MSC and I want to thank you two for the podcast we’re Chris talked about ol’ Steampunk Humpty ! That sealed the deal for me to book on Seashore . Now with the drink sale and the free upgrade , it’s like icing on the cake !

Ocean Cay is top of list for me as well. And so right about the coffee and pizza. Also I’ve not seen any better spread on any other line to make a charcuterie plate than on their ships. They do those meats and cheeses RIGHT!
Hey Kevin… absolutely. They had a spread so wonderful this last trip. It was demolished in 10 minutes but I got video before.

10 - Steam Punk Humpty Dumpty - I so can't agree. LoL I needed to be on a 70's Acid Trip to understand that show.... Between him and the Mario Cart Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. 🤣
9 - MSC really does have the best pricing structure for what you get. This is the hardest part to explain to people that have not yet been on MSC.
8. - I would say they are out side the box thinkers a bit. Not all of their ideas work but they are always trying.
7. - This goes back kind of what I said in #8.
6. - Their ships are really something else. I especially like the EVO Class there is nothing else like them on the seas. They just need a West Coast Presence. They are what I like to call Euro-Elegant.
5. - Best Coffee at Sea. Nuff said 🤣
4. - There are no words that can describe just how amazing the pizza is. It is better than just the "Best Pizza at Sea" This stuff is 10 levels above.
3. - The drraaaaaank package! Hells to the yeah! And they have good bottles, not just "well type" alcohols.
2. - So far we have cruised Fantastica. And we really enjoyed it. But we are SOOOO excited for the YC experience on W.A.
1. - We love Ocean Cay. We are looking forward to the latest updates to it as well. That Docu-Vid was awesome! Our first Cruise was on the Seaside, and we were supposed to have a stop at Ocean Cay, but because of that delay they talked about in the Vid we had to go to Nassau instead. We were really bummed. So we have only been to Ocean Cay once.
Ha! Steampunk Humpty Dumpty… there hasn’t been a more divisive figure since Richard Nixon! 🤪😊🤪

Ocean Kay is one of the reasons we fell in love with MSc. We always try to book only cruises with the overnight stay. Ihad never seen MSC offers discounted drink package after we have booked and saw the deal the other day and bought it for our 7 night in August. Just to good of a deal to pass up 😊
Yes!!! Getting a good price on those packages makes it even better! OC continues to be our favorite spot 😁
I woke up yesterday morning and did several 3 X 3 karate chops, then proceeded to book two Celebrity cruises 🛳 😊 ! One for late August on the Reflection and one for next (2025) Christmas on the Apex 🎅. Thanks for the inspiration and I love watching your videos and chopping right along with you!

I couldn't agree with you more on the top 10, especially the coffee and pizza (I ❤ food)!! After about 40 cruises, MSC is definitely my favorite!

I agree with a lot of this. I will say though that the pizza is very good, it's not as good at Mardi Gras (Carnival) pizza though. The issue with the pizza is that the rest of the food is soooo bad (worse than Royal or Carnival), we ate pizza for ~50% of the back-to-back cruise on the Seashore, so it does get repetitive (and you gain 9lbs).
Ocean Cay ("key") is by far the best thing they have going for them, it's almost worth sleeping on those rock hard beds to go back ... almost ;)

I am watching your video and i stopped it after you said the drink packages are on sale and called msc to cancel our drink packages. Problem is that i am doing my daily morning walk and didn't have the credit card i used to confirm transaction 😢. Thank you for saving us money bc now with the savings i can but a model of the msc aeashore 😊. Back to watching your top 10 list

Great video as always!! I think I saw on your vlog where we can exchange pool towels but I forgot which pool it was nearby. Which pool was it? Thanks.
If you are thinking YC, there will always be towels on loungers. On Seashore, there was a towel exchange by the main Long Island pool. Also your room steward will replace with fresh towels in your room. Hope that answers your question 😊

The different cruise tiers is what has scared me off of trying MSC. The idea of a caste system grosses me out! I know other lines do this to some extent or another, but none so explicitly as MSC.
My favorite thing, historically, about cruising has been how egalitarian it is. The people in the lowliest inside cabin got essentially the same experience as those in the fanciest suites. Sadly, that is going away across the industry…
Well we politely disagree. Cruising is for all types of people. Some don’t want a YC experience they just want to lay by the pool and eat at the buffet and that is what they pay for. MSC gives options for all price ranges and it allows more people to enjoy cruising. Every cruise ship built past and present has options to book suites with more luxurious services so saying historically that there has not been a caste system is not correct.
If you try MSC you will see a lot of people enjoys vacation the way they want to, not standing at the YC door looking at how others are enjoying theirs.
Why worry about what anyone else is doing?
@@Taste-Try-Travel with all due respect, when I started cruising and on the lines I sailed, there was no noticeable difference between what suite passengers received vs. what interior cabin passengers received, aside from their accommodations. Anywhere else on the ship, there would be no way to differentiate who was in “first class” and who was in “steerage”. I still remember when Celebrity introduced “Aqua class” with added amenities, and it turned me off.
And to be clear, it’s not about envy over what others are getting. If I were the one in the higher tier, I would be just as uncomfortable about being separated from those who aren’t getting the same experience…
I recognize that this is the new reality and every line is now doing it to one extent or another. I have to accept it, but I don’t have to like it! That being said, I am open-minded to the possibility that if I gave MSC a chance, I might find that it’s really no big deal…
I'm surprised Yacht Club didn't make the top 10.
Well we added it the different tiers offered. I think YC would take over all the Top 10 if we let it 😂😂

Option A) We are Apple users where, if you just highlight the text and right-click(on a mouse) or touch-and-hold(on a iPhone), a “translate” option pops up. Otherwise, you’ll need to copy and paste onto a website that translates for you.
Option B) Enroll in an online college. Take 4 years of Italian. Graduate with honors. Translate email. 🤪😊🤪
What? No Waffle House cup today? I think MSC is a point of pride for the Aponte family and it reflects directly on them. So they focus on changes and improvements that passengers recommended in the post cruise questionnaire and can make changes without shareholders screaming about their dividends. They are focused on maintaining and not harming the environment (including Chris's sea lice) and put out the $ to prove it.
Lot's to like with MSC and I think it will get better yet.
