He mentioned his involvement with making the mod to me a couple years back and I was interested with some of the stuff he's been doing. Glad to see that he was able to finish the mod after dealing with a couple of development roadblocks. I never knew that the project was the result of you requesting the mod to him. I am proud that my brother did a fantastic job on this mod and that a lot of people here seem to really like it.
Maaaannnnn talk about such a wild way to have a nuzlocke end. Wobbufett still holds the moniker as the nuzlocke destroyer TO THIS DAY!!!! Wonderful story though. Had me on edge the entire time.
The worst part about that ending is that Wobbuffet is a Pokémon designed purely for single formats. Don's over here playing 4D Chess and Iris still won with a swift kick to the groin.
Really neither of them really won since they were both out of Pokémon. I know the game said he lost but really they both lost and won at the same time. Personally I think it should count as a win for him but maybe it’s like WWE (if u watch that) and it’s champions advantage.
Absolutely amazing video, the editing at the end was truly emotional. On a side note, FlygonHG has said in the past that Gen 5 triple and rotation battles have 100% random AI. The move choice and the target choice have no logic for selection at all. In theory, every turn is 12^3 odds of any specific outcome (if I remember my math right). Including the fact it's on a randomizer to begin with, this is truly a one-of-a-kind experience to document.

You really have this uncanny ability to create an emotional connection to your team/run through your videos. Some of those deaths felt *personal,* man. That ending felt on par with actual traditional Greek tragedies. Like I genuinely fist pumped seeing that Wobbuffet go down only to see destiny bond kick in. Like what other reaction can I have instead of going numb for a few seconds. I feel like you have a Sisyphean curse on your runs, Don. But if anyone is going to get over that mountain one day, it'll be you. o7
This was an adventure. I missed a lot of the streams, so I had no idea what to expect. This was an adventure and had me glued through the end. Such an intense end to a difficult run. Glad I was able to help make this happen man, probably my favorite video to date. Peak Editing, Peak Storytelling, and Peak Jokes. Truly the donlenous timeline.

Bruh, this was a whole cinematic. The emotional roller coaster, the editing, the reflection on past thoughts, the ups and downs. I didn't think i would watch it in one sitting but it's the best game with the best battle type, i was hooked!

Right? That game is such a hidden gem. The best Pokémon side game honestly. I’m so mad they never made a 2nd game of it. I suppose they still could but at this point it seems extremely unlikely since it’s been out for 12 years. God that makes me feel kinda old. I played the heck out of the game when I was little. I remember I had like 400 hours on it the last time I checked (and I played it more after that). So many great memories with it too with my favorite being when I was having a battle in illusio castle I had taken out all the opposing Pokémon but my Pokémon that was right next to the last flag I had to get went down (I think it was too poison) so I thought I had lost because I only had 2 turns left to get the last flag with none of my Pokémon near it so I definitely thought it was over and I had lost but I had an Abra on my team and he had been protecting one of the flags I start out next to since the beginning of the battle and it a fit of I’m gonna lose anyways I randomly decide to have Abra use teleport and the goat that is Abra teleports right next to the flag and pulling out the win for me. Abra has been one of my favorite Pokémon since then. And this is just one moment out of many great ones but this one is definitely my fave.
I kind of disagree. I wish it played more like FFT or Tactics Ogre so Pokémon could use more than one move. Also the way that you had to keep castles defended on the map in the later stories, and the way that it WAS split into a bunch of stories and not one big one really bothered me. I also thought that the stages were disappointingly small and often too gimmicky, making battles feel repetitive. But hey, it's a Nobunaga's Ambition crossover, so it's got all the bad stuff from Nobunaga's Ambition.
42:28 I learned this because I worked a concert for him at my job last week. Like everybody was hyped for this dude and when I asked what songs he made they just said he was a good DJ. Most people on the way out hated that he kept changing songs.

So many videos take a super analytical approach matter-of-fact approach to the concept, but it's the story telling, the emotional investment that really made me love nuzlockes to begin with. Nuzlocking is about discovering the weirdest strategies that actually work. It's about forming a connection to the pixels on the screen, feeling sad when they die, and hyped when they succeed. It's about using pokemon you've never used before and developing a love for the forgotten mons like Lumineon. This is what nuzlocking is about!
Everybody rightfully calling out how amazing the editing on that ending was but honestly I was just excited at the phenomenal music choice. Outer Wilds 100% has that "In the end I lost everything, but the journey was wort the while" vibe you were going for. Mad props to you (or whoever edits for you) absolutely beautiful
This is honestly a phenomenal video. Great delivery on your jokes, found them funny even when the sense of humor didn't entirely match. The storytelling was top tier. Excellently set things up. How you ended the video with the last battle was also phenomenal. Only part I found a tad underwhelming was strategic discussion for specific battles and scenarios, but that's inherently limited by being a randomizer with a completely random triple battle AI. That was an amazing story to accompany an amazing run. Triple battles are so great, I’m mad they never came back. It’s a shame there were those extra deaths from grinding as well, it’s always somehow a little worse for me. I switched to candies (whenever possible) forever ago and haven’t looked back. The time saved and the lack of meaningless deaths to wild Pokémon make my runs a lot more enjoyable for me to play.

First time I ever see a video of yours, and it's an absolute banger of a video. The emotional rollercoaster. The ups and downs. The editing. The conclusion which called back to things said earlier in the run. And of course, the most cinematic way a Nuzlocke could possibly end. A one-on-one against a Wobbufett as the champion's last Pokémon, ending with a death to destiny bond. Technically speaking, you did defeat the champion's final Pokémon, but it didn't matter because of destiny bond. What a conclusion. I've liked and subscribed. After that video, you've definitely earned it and more.

I've watched a lot of Pokemon Nuzlockes in my time. Lots of Alpharad, pChal, little FlygonHG... But this one. This is the best one. The "story", the energy, the humor, THE MUSIC [chefs kiss], and let's not forget the Powerpoint slides baby. I not only learned about a format I never really knew about - Triple Battles sound kinda cool though, but I enjoy everything about this video. We're gonna see a runback right?... Right?
If you didn't want the guy having to make all custom teams for all triple battles, you couldve just gone with White 2 Kaizo, a difficulty rom hack that includes exclusively triple battles! That way you wouldnt have had to randomize it, and especially with it being a HC nuzlocke - randomizers take away from the "skill" aspect of the nuzloce - could be fun if you wanted to try this challenge again without the randomizer! Either way, incredibly entertaining video, well done!

I only recently started watching your videos but I’ve been hooked for the past few days and this video might be my favourite one you’ve made if not the pikmin randomizer. the storytelling, the emotional connection you somehow made us feel towards celebrity-named Pokémon, and the way everything came to a close was so well done. One of the only TH-camrs that can take a lost nuzlocke and make it feel worthwhile and entertaining.

Triple battles are so great, I’m mad they never came back.
It’s a shame there were those extra deaths from grinding as well, it’s always somehow a little worse for me. I switched to candies (whenever possible) forever ago and haven’t looked back. The time saved and the lack of meaningless deaths to wild Pokémon make my runs a lot more enjoyable for me to play.

First time I ever see a video of yours, and it's an absolute banger of a video. The emotional rollercoaster. The ups and downs. The editing. The conclusion which called back to things said earlier in the run. And of course, the most cinematic way a Nuzlocke could possibly end. A one-on-one against a Wobbufett as the champion's last Pokémon, ending with a death to destiny bond. Technically speaking, you did defeat the champion's final Pokémon, but it didn't matter because of destiny bond. What a conclusion. I've liked and subscribed. After that video, you've definitely earned it and more.

I've watched a lot of Pokemon Nuzlockes in my time. Lots of Alpharad, pChal, little FlygonHG... But this one. This is the best one. The "story", the energy, the humor, THE MUSIC [chefs kiss], and let's not forget the Powerpoint slides baby. I not only learned about a format I never really knew about - Triple Battles sound kinda cool though, but I enjoy everything about this video.

If you didn't want the guy having to make all custom teams for all triple battles, you couldve just gone with White 2 Kaizo, a difficulty rom hack that includes exclusively triple battles! That way you wouldnt have had to randomize it, and especially with it being a HC nuzlocke - randomizers take away from the "skill" aspect of the nuzloce - could be fun if you wanted to try this challenge again without the randomizer!
Either way, incredibly entertaining video, well done!

I only recently started watching your videos but I’ve been hooked for the past few days and this video might be my favourite one you’ve made if not the pikmin randomizer. the storytelling, the emotional connection you somehow made us feel towards celebrity-named Pokémon, and the way everything came to a close was so well done. One of the only TH-camrs that can take a lost nuzlocke and make it feel worthwhile and entertaining.
I have never been moved to tears by a challenge run, man. You had me on the edge of my seat, only to tie Iris to the struggle.
You gotta run this back, my guy, you just gotta; even if it’s not the exact same run, you gotta stunt on Iris and get your runback.
