    • @suhail_69
      @suhail_69 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@im_ranjan17 yes I saw it. I understood the rule incorrectly then. I read through the rules, if the fielder touches the boundary rope before making contact with the ball, it's okay. Fielder shouldn't be touching the rope while taking the catch. So it's out. Now if the fielder is completely outside the boundary rope before touching the ball, that is not allowed. For example, fielder cannot be outside the rope when the batsman hits, and then jump and take the catch and throw it in while he is in air - this is not allowed. That's why you always see fielder trying to stretch and take the catch while being within the ropes.

      If a fielder has gone outside the boundary line before touching the ball then he has to step inside the boundary line before he can touch the ball. He isn't allowed to jump and make contact with the ball in the air in that case. If he does so then boundary will be awarded.

    3) RR ( Halla bol are looking the best and may be the pre tournament favourites, they had a fantastic auction bowlers are very good Trent Boult, Yuvzi, Ashwin, Parashid Krishna and NCN. They have Jos butter, Sanju Samson and devedut padikal and the interesting factor is that all of these three are in form and scored centuries in the last season they also have James Neesham and Daryl Mitchell and also Rassie Van Der dussen they will make it only worry is management.)

    I dont agree with this catching law at all.., no matter what ICC thinks just for sake of TV eyeballs. The law should be...'any contact with the ball..1st, 2nd or 3rd...should be made only if the last contact of the fielder was withing the playing area(minus the ropes)' Period. If a batsman is given a six, when a catch is taken comfortably inside the field, but the fielder's shoe touches an mm of the rope by oversight, then conversely, any contacts from outside the playing area should not be given out. Any fielder should not be allowed to claim a catch if he jumped from outside the boundary line to inside. Let him come inside the playing area first, and then get in contact with the ball for a catch.

  • @TheAzad3
    @TheAzad3 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Latest rule is that fielder claim catch/saving runs only if his last body touch was in/under boundary line.
    in above instance fielder went and touch above boundary line, later he jumped and throws the ball in the boundary (but his last touch to the land/ground was over the boundary line) so his claim should/get be declined.

    • @TheCricketDigest
      @TheCricketDigest  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      According to the law as it stands today, if the fielder makes his first contact with the ball inside the boundary then he is subsequently allowed to go outside the boundary line and jump from there to catch it. That is what we have explained in the video and it is a valid catch.

  • @rajeshshetty1

    So going by this cricket rule, if a hook shot going for a 6 into the stands, just brushed a micro mm of a close in fielder, then a boundary line fielder can go to the first tier spectator stand, jump and punch the ball back, so that another fielder inside can 'claim' the catch !! How ridiculous ! ICC needs to change the rule...'last contact of any fielder before touching the ball for the nth time should be from inside the playing area, else its a 6 or a 4 as per the shot !!' Even jumping from outside the boundary line and catching the ball airborne and falling inside should be given a 6.

    I am not a fan of this.. The catch can't be valid if it's caught back by the same player.. And my reason is simple.. "YOU CAN'T FIELD FROM OUTSIDE"
    .
    If you toss the ball up and you go over the boundary and the ball is caught by another fielder then that's fine..
    .. But if you are the one coming back into the game to complete the catch then that should be illegal (you should never be able to make a 2nd contact with the ball, with you coming from outside the boundary because you can't field from outside)
    I saw a situation in the ipl and the officials must have missed it..
    The fielder tossed the ball in the air, his momentum took him over the boundary and then he leaped from outside (his last point of contact with the ground was from outside the boundary), into the air, caught the ball.. That should have been 6 runs

    I think the laws could be changed here. Simply define a player, when airborne, is inside the ground if his last contact with the ground was inside the boundary, and outside if his last contact with the ground was outside. With that simple rule this catch would be illegal and I think that is the fair result.

    • @TheCricketDigest
      @TheCricketDigest  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      One way of thinking, yes. But ICC feels that if the fielder catches inside the boundary then he should be given another chance if he is off balance.

    • @squirrelpatrick3670
      @squirrelpatrick3670 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheCricketDigest But to what degree? With my definition it would be quite legal to catch off-balance, throw the ball, step outside the boundary, and return inside the boundary to complete the catch. What I feel is questionable is to handle the ball when the last contact was outside the boundary, and I would disagree with the ICC here. Note that with the current definition, it would be legal to run into the stands, jump up to catch a ball, while in the air throw to a fellow fielder inside the boundary, before landing back down spilling the beers of the spectators, theoretically catching a ball that would otherwise be a huge six, unless I am mistaken.

      2. I have idea another idea if fielder is outside the boundary line before and after touching the ball. It should be give six run. Example Angilo mathews and Matt ranshaw catch. First touch or second touch doesn't to play any impact.
      Because it will create controversy in future like 2019 world cup final super over draw and boundary count winner.

      In my opinion it should be right if the fielder doesn't touch ball and boundary at the same time.
      For the same reason while a batsman running b/w the wickets the ball Hits the stump and batsman 's bat is on air although it seems to be crossed the line it will be called out.
      If a batsman has crossed the line if the bat still is on air how can be this out?moreover why it is important for a batsman to be grounded at the time when the bail is off although the batsman has already inside the line in stumping?

    If a fielder goes outside the boundary line before touching the ball and comes in take catch is out or not out

      If the fielder comes entirely inside the boundary before taking the catch then it is out. He can't jump from outside the boundary to take the catch.

    When batmen hit a ball towards the boundary and to stop that ball two fielders came quick.. One of the fielder stopped the ball inside the boundary.. But other guy without touching the ball he over stepped the boundary to avoid hitting the fjrst fielder.. Without touching the ball and overstepping the boundary do considered as a no ball????

    It should be that if in the process of a catch the fielder touches the ground outside the boundary before touching the ball, then it's a six.

      Harleen was jumped from outside and took the catch..
      Suppose if there is a wall or fence on boundary line just like baseball boundary., Then these catches are impossible to take.. I don't know whether icc corrected this rule or not..

      @@TheCricketDigest Please check below, a fielder is considered to be grounded beyond the boundary in that case.
      19.5.1 A fielder is grounded beyond the boundary if some part of his/her person is in contact with any of the following:
      - the boundary or any part of an object used to mark the boundary;
      - the ground beyond the boundary;
      - any object that is in contact with the ground beyond the boundary;

      @@viswakirank We are well aware of this. This law explains what exactly can be considered beyond the boundary.
      If the fielder has made his first touch with the ball well inside the boundary line then he can go outside the boundary, can touch anything there but when he makes the subsequent contact he has to be either in the air or has to be inside the boundary line.

    • @viswakirank
      @viswakirank 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheCricketDigest No, a fielder can be grounded and then be airborne while pushing the ball onto the ground but if he / she goes beyond the boundary post the first contact within the field and touches an object as per third point then the ball will be considered grounded beyond the boundary.
      - any object that is in contact with the ground beyond the boundary

    • @TheCricketDigest
      @TheCricketDigest  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Which law states explicitly about this point?
      Touching the boundary line, grounding beyond the boundary line, or touching anyone beyond the boundary is all the same.
      So if it is allowed to ground beyond the line, it should be allowed to touch anyone or any object as well. Let us know if you have come across any law that specifically states that 'it is not allowed to touch any object'.

  • @Indranilgslv
    @Indranilgslv 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    No its not out ..why ? Let me explain you must have to touch ball when you inside field and then jump in air not go outside and then jump in air. If you go outside then you have to touch your feet inside field and then if you jump air and throw ball that should be acceptable but what its happened here not a out.

    Let’s say he caught it for 5 seconds and then threw the ball in the air while going outside the boundary line?
