The real luxury is custom made artisan made clothing and accessories from independent designers who make it by hand! No labels no slave labor just pure quality fabrics and work. Unique pieces that no one else has. This is real luxury and it doesn't even cost what crap like Chanel costs.
I agree with you about the companies that authenticate bags. I used one once and by accident took a picture of my kitchen island. That was the picture on my authenticity certificate
I have only one designer handbag, I bought on sale 12 years ago. It´s a D&G Sicily in a light rosé tone. I simply loved it and it was 60% off. I use cotton cloth bags, every day … :)
Dacob you are a true joy!🎉❤🎉 and yes we all agree these "influencers who are not authentic as you said, telling everyone they love a bag one day and then vlog sale the next..your comments were spot on....many have shared with you they have unsubscribed to them and sadly that is the difference in the great handbag youtubers of the past like BJTaylor( she was phenominal ) and many of the ones today.😢 ❤
I'm so over it as well. Vlog sales, and 'massive haul' unboxings. Ugh. I just looked at someone's 'massive luxury haul' and unboxing. It's a month before Christmas....really? 😮
I love watching your videos Dacob, I feel like you keep me grounded when it comes to luxury bags, that it's actually not worth my hard earned money so I just wanted ti thank you for what you are doing, you are a rare voice in this subject, especially on social media
Totally agree with you Dacob! Can’t stand those Umpa Lumpa saying I’m obsessed and then next thing they say not worth it and then end up selling it. I never trust Authenticators judging only by looking at pictures. So stupid!
At some point (and I blame social media) people began confusing buying expensive brand name items with having style. Style has aways been individual. You used to look at magazines, or if you were really into fashion, the collections. Then you would choose the items YOU liked and fit your style and would buy them (or the inevitable copies). Then you would combine them with your own items and maybe your Mom's or Grandma's. Yes, it was always good to have basics, but basics did not make your look, they were the foundation that you then layered on top of. I love having small designer brands in my collection and have been opting more and more for those than anything with a big name label.
It really doesn’t matter what you buy these days. Everything is crap. I have issues with EVERY SINGLE high priced item I have bought in the last year. My bed and matras, my closets, clothing. It’s insane and depressing. Second hand vintage is the way to go.
Yep, that was my experience too this year. I bought four dining chairs from a luxury furniture brand. It was an exhausting chore from order to delivery. One chair of course had one leg too short, which took them another 3 weeks to correct but they never contacted me again. I had to constantly call them and ask when I might receive that repaired chair. One chair was 1k mind you. The customer service was never bothered for a second. They were like "whatever". It's crazy.
oh i miss the days when a trend was a trend for more than 3 months! i’m wearing more plain and plainer stuff recently, i think i have total fashion-depression😂
I agree with everything you said ! Yiu had me laughing at the umpa lumpa and the inflluenbers that say "obsessed" and then two weeks later it's for sale 😂😭👏🏼
I don't understand people who wear luxury bags to elevate a look. Like, ma'am, we can see you wear Shein with it 😅 it doesn't make any sense! Well, it looks ridiculous let's face it. Fashion Insiders find it odd...
Amelia Rose posted recently about how 'the Birkin is not that special' I feel you'd agree with that video. Prestige is not the entirety of something's value.
I don’t mind a pre-loved bag, the thing is sometimes a vintage bag can make you look different from other people. Like you say, white T-shirt and jeans, a vintage bag could be cheaper and that person can spend more on an outfit.
‘Authenticators…they give you a piece of toiletpaper with their shit on it!’ 😂😂😂 Love it! You nailed it with this video, and you always do it in such a funny and spicy way 😁🥰
Hahaha, Dear Dacob 🥰love this commmentary video so much!!! I only have two vintage Chanel bags and I got them cuz of the love for the heritage and for their impeccable quality. Do not need anyone to validate me based on what I'm wearing.
Oh Please help me !! I don’t care for bags at all . But I’m totally in love wit the 2.55 , obsessed. Although I know the quality is not good anymore I stil want to own this bag as my first and only Chanel bag . I probably never would use it , just put in on a shelf and look at it .. a waste of money I know .. but loves make blind I guess…
Funny thing, I rarely use my classics, they’re too dressy (I have beige double flap, and a navy). I do use my vintage bags that are more casual. Most I’ve had 10-15 years and have straps that can extend out to wear crossbody. I just yesterday pulled out a biggish faux fur that I’ll wear this winter. It’s a bit worn but still in excellent shape for everyday. I dunno how many other bags I could say that about (older LV the leather straps dry out. Gucci linings peel 🤷♀️). Anyway, all keep that in mind before investing in a new classic - I get that you simply want to have it. I remember that feeling.
Agree. But also most of these videos that people say it's not worth it, the person has a wall of bags right behind them (or tucked away). Of course one can say that if you already have it. lol
Dacob Dah-ling. Just got back from Paris. Most women were overdoing Polene. Only saw Chanel classic at your Place Vendome. They were eastern Asian or women who had their arm around a granddaddy. Saw Chanel and Louis Vuitton jewels - they looked fake - lol. You go girl.
I don’t see a problem with wearing plain clothing with a designer bag but it still has to make sense, a speedy with a casual look seems pretty natural but wearing a timeless with a head to toe TikTok shop look is just ridiculous.
I agree with you 99%🩷 1% is that I only go with tiny bags that holds cell phone and keys 🤷🏻♀️I do have bigger ones when the kids were small and I needed the space
Hey Dacob! I have just watched "Inside Italy’s designer bag sweatshops | 101 East Documentary" and it shows exactly what you have been saying here for ages. This time is about Richemont, but Gucci and Dior and Marni and Jil Sander were mentioned as well. So sad what fashion has become! I am out, I can't trust any brand and I don't want to support human exploitation.
I use to watch a youtuber who swear she created her design I paid 250 dollars for her sandals than I went to Greece found the same sadals for 20 dollars I was shocked
The LV Palm Springs Mini videos were the worst. I had enough when that one influencer had a meltdown in her car about the bag giving her problems. Thank God i didnt give in and buy that monstrosity
My thing is that, even though I might enjoy looking at a bag, most of the times the design isn't interesting enough for me to purchase. The only bags I find interesting are the Fendi Peak a Boo (heard it's heavy darling) and the D&G Sicily bag. The rest not so much.
Dacob, this is off topic but i remember you talked about Chantal Gaemperle's removal (i can't find your video on it tho). Do you know why the heirs of lvmh have a feud with her as some articles say? Can you please talk more about it on your next live?
Hermés is the best among luxury because they're not dependent on a group like LVMH. They do themselves honey. Commenting as I watch btw, that's why the many comments 😂
Luxury, as the word connotes, is a person’s whim. Not necessity. It is immaterial if it is a good investment or not. Buyers have the discretion if it is worthy to be acquired or not. It is their money, let them use it to what takes their fancy. No one has the right to say or question the manner of spending their resources.
Hi Dacob! Do you have the inside scoop on when Chanel will be raising their perfume prices again? I’m trying to beat the clock and purchase all the ones I want before then. 😅 Hopefully it will be later rather than sooner, but knowing Chanel…well…
Kkk amusing myself with Dakob😅. Girl buy what you love and can afford. Don't need to break the bank for a "piece of leather" just because it's the IT Bag 😮. Dacob hates any criticism of any kind. Ok. - You should watch a video and videos of luxury handbags made by 3rd party subcontracts owned by Chinese entrepreneurs in Italy. They are worked 12 hours a day. Several different cheap looking "factories" in Italy make these lux bags in the bad part of town.... the key is several different factories made by different Chinese owners and illegal workers from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and China. If you look up "Monteblanc handbag" you can find the videos. Dior does the same thing. Dacob has many wonderful handbag. Yes, Mr. Dacob. How wonderful. But, you do the same videos over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. Why not watch the videos of the actual source and then shut up!! You are so annoying.

Suggestions on where to look for them? Or how to find them? I’m not sure if all of them advertise.

So right, there is so much stuff. Some of these bags are difficult to repair as they are made to break.
