If no one is going after the story missions, lol. In short, this takes place betwen mw2019, and mw2022. Victor Zakhaev had survived a attempt at being killed by Captain Price. He finds Aetherium and the bodys of the cats from cold war zombies, including one Weaver, from black ops 1 and cold war. Victor used a vile of aetherium on the police that arived, turnjng Urzikstan into a zombie filled battleground. The main group we play as arrives and come to stop Zakheav. Thats pretty much it :3
If I could suggest a game, it’s similar to zombies but different art style and also in 3rd person. I suggest Risk of Rain 2. It just got a massive update and DLC, definitely worth trying with a group of 4 people.
I’m no MWZ pro but some tips if you play this again is once you have 5000 points don’t pack a punch, drive to tier 3 with decoys and buy a gold gun off the wall for 4500-5000 and go back to tier 2 you’ll kill them easy and can farm contracts til you’re ready for tier 3. Also when you exfil you can stand on the side wing of the cargo and the zombies can’t hit you and you’ll still exfil when you fly away

Just to let you know, first off, each time you load in, there's a 40 minute timer until Aether Storm expands. (Like PUBG, Warzone, DMZ & Fortnite) From there, there's 16 minute's until it cover's the entire map. So you can definitely stay in the map longer if you want to! (As long as you don't mind making potentially final exfil) Secondly, Sentry turrent's are broken in zombies, and they barely work most of the time. (It's better to learn the Monkeybomb trick with them, to make a trap.) And thirdly, the new zombies is a mixture of DMZ, and the old Cold War mode called Outbreak. Everything is spread out into different zones. T1 Zone (Where you spawn) are zombies & mercenaries around rounds 5-10 (If looking from traditional zombie standpoint) T2 Zone (Orange) is rounds 10-20, and T3 Zone is rounds 25-50. Each zone has craftable schematic's to earn, and everything is unique. A map bigger than Warzone & Outbreak, and everything's confusing at first. It's not (entirely) the zombies we know or love, but still zombies. It does deserve respect for what it is. Sorry this is long. :)
