So incredibly grateful for making this video. With love and passion for Poland. Something that connects us forever next to our roots. Being able to catch our story through the eye of the camera.
Nynke, what you showed us in your today's video is one of the most heartwarming confessions of love to Poland I've ever heard. A confession of love from your two wonderful Dutch friends. ❤🙂 The only one I would consider comparable or even stronger is your own love for Poland as testified to in your other videos. And the love of your friends must be strong indeed, since it withstood the real trial of perseverance and commitment - a trial of the bureaucratic hassle related to buying a plot of land and building a house on it. 😉😃 What an uplifting story you told us, dear. Again I am turning my head in disbelief and remembering those verses from the New Testament I quoted in my comment to Episode 6 of your last great trip: 'Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and how inscrutable His ways!' - Romans 11,33-34. Why is that? Because the history appears to repeat itself. Five centuries ago the Dutch people discovered Poland for the first time and that resulted in a wave of Dutch settlement in our country that lasted until the period of partitions of Poland at the end of 18th century. And now, after a gap of over two centuries, the Dutch people seem to be discovering Poland yet again. Those who have not known Poland before or know it only from stories, visit it for the first time with some apprehension. They are afraid because they associate Poland with war, communism, suffering, backwardness, bad living conditions and general hopelessness. However, when they arrive, they soon realize that these are things of the past. Poland is quickly overcoming the bad legacy of its difficult history and again, as it used to be in past centuries, begins to attract people from all over Europe who are looking for a better place to live. So when someone whose mindset was formed on the basis of all these horrible stories from the past comes to Poland and confronts these stories with reality on the ground, this person is experiencing a cognitive shock. And it is so fascinating to watch how the Dutch people react to and go through this cognitive shock. Somehow Poland with its beautiful nature, rich history, good food and friendly people resonates with the Dutch soul and brings the best out of it. After a short period of disbelief 'so this is Poland?', comes an outburst of love. And shortly thereafter, an outburst of creativity. For someone in love, nothing is too difficult. A person in love wants his/her dreams come true and there is no force in this earthly realm which would stop him/her. And it appears to me that the little secret of the Dutch soul is that its dreams somehow revolve around creativity in its diverse forms. Look at what your friends' dream was. They wanted to build a beautiful house surrounded by beautiful landscapes and they wanted to settle down in it and live their lives immersed in those landscapes and in harmony with nature. With a lot of effort and perseverance, they managed to make their dream come true. How similar this is to what your great Dutch ancestors did in Poland centuries ago. These ancestors were coming to Poland and doing the same thing - building beautiful farmhouses and windmills and turning wasteland into fertile land teeming with life. And look what they did in Gdańsk, look at the beautiful buildings they built there. Look at the beautiful palaces and churches Tylman van Gameren built in Warsaw, Kraków, Gdańsk, Białystok, all over Poland. Dreams born out of love and meticulously implemented with flair and ingenuity ... And when I look at you and at what you show us in your videos and drawings, I see the same love combined with the same creative flair and ingenuity. With a little bit of patience, perseverance and time this combination will bear fruit you dreamed of, I am sure of it.
Great people Wonderful place Amazing views And what stuck in my head were last wards "Poland is my HOME " Thank you for this beautiful 😍 video Pozdrawiam
A weird phenomenon is happening people around the world are falling in love with Poland. Poland was voted as the best European destination, and people are saying that once they go to Poland, they never want to leave.
Ninka, Dutch settlers came to Poland already in the 16 & 17th centuries. Maybe you should journey to the northern parts of Poland, where the Vistula river enters the Baltic sea (Kujawy, Mazowsze) These are low lands and your countrymen and women settled there. They were great farmers and had special knowledge of building dams etc. You will find many little townes called Holendry all over Poland and they are called like that becouse people of Dutch decents settled there. Anyway for you it maybe an interesting trip into our Polish - Olęder history ;)
Such a nice people with very interesting story ! And this place, awww I am in love. Just as hot beaches have their own charm, this winter mountain landscape has its own beautiful magic. :) And this is how we can live our life, we can do nothing, or we can try to experience the magic of the world and even touch it. I send to everyone a lot of love !
8:40 very small shelter for sheeper. In the past there were even small villages in the mountains and small wooden houses. Sometimes you can see them in Gorce (mountains north of road Nowy Targ - Szczawnica) and in the Taras (for example: Polana Chochołowska or Polana Rusinowa - there are sheep and sheepers during summer)
