My grandfather died in early 90's, when I was 3 yo. He worked as an engineer on the Antonov plant in Kyiv city, Ukraine. His job was design and layout of appliances in the cockpit. "Mriya" (in Ukrainian "The Dream") was a secret project, nobody was allowed to talk about it outside the plant, even with their families. Dad told me that one day Grandpa came from work with burning eyes and said they are going to build something absolutely stunning. These were the only words he was allowed to say to his wife and kids. And it was true. An-225 even in 2020 strikes people's imagination. Somewhere in the cockpit there is part of soul and hard work of my grandfather. The AN-225 is a Soviet heritage and a symbol of friendship between the Russian and Ukrainian peoples. It is worth paying tribute to the designers of this miracle, who were natives of the RSFSR and the Ukrainian SSR. May peace reign again, so that mankind can march forward to new horizons.
@@rupiter2008 Russia hasn't built anything of substance in 30 years. Russia destroyed the AN-225 that Ukraine was able to keep flight-worthy. Russia can't even keep the A-320s, that they stole, flying.
Ukraine? "Antonov" is a Russian corporation from Novosibirsk (Russia, Siberia), which happened to be in Kiev for a while. Accordingly, all developments of the USSR Academy of Sciences belong to Russia. The AN-225 was built by order of NPO Molniya(Moscow). In Soviet times, the Ukrainian Antonov plant received all due payment for production and test flights. But after the collapse of the USSR, he forgot to transfer the aircraft to the customer. By law, the plane must belong to Russia. The wings and center section of the AN 225 were designed and manufactured (like the AN 124) at the Chkalov TAPO (Tashkent, Uzbek SSR): 70% of the workers are Russian-speaking, a multinational team, representatives of the Volga Republics of Russia(TATARSTAN, BASHKORTOSTAN, UDMURTIA, MORDOVIA, etc.) were sent to the Chkalov TAPO... The Experimental Design Bureau "Antonov" OKB-153 was established on May 31, 1946 by a decree of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks and the Council of Ministers of the USSR at the Novosibirsk Aviation Plant named after V.P. Chkalov, Russia. Antonov Oleg Konstantinovich was appointed chief designer. In the summer of 1952, the OKB, on Stalin's orders, was transferred to Kyiv with the entire staff. It so happened historically that the communists of the USSR in 1922 allowed Ukraine to use the land of the Russian Empire with Russian factories located on it (this is the entire southeast of Ukraine). When leaving the USSR in 1991, Ukraine "forgot" to return to Russia its land with these plants (this is a huge territory of 2/3 of the entire territory of Ukraine) Study this question yourself.
Ukraine has its own geographical territories. No need to start being clever, they say, some country was once part of some other country there. The Antonov factory was and is located near Kyiv, Ukraine. The plane was designed and built in Ukraine. No need to invent your own truth

Many inaccuracies: this aircraft was not originally Ukrainian. Ukraine received it as a legacy from the Soviet Antonov design bureau. What did Ukraine do in this plane - they simply repainted it in Ukrainian colors. The plane itself was developed by order of the USSR government for the Soviet space program. Of course, the Antonov Design Bureau was Soviet.

Again a lot of lies. The author does not know the history and does not check the facts. The AN-225 was developed by the Antonov Russian Design Bureau. And the whole Soviet Union made it. Wings and feathering elements in Tashkent at the Ilyushin plant, avionics in Ulyanovsk and Voronezh. Landing gear titanium products in Nizhny Novgorod. Aerodynamics in TsAGI, the city of Zhukovsky, they were able to create a unique wing there. Engines in the city of Zaporozhye. And it was destroyed by the fire of the Ukrainian artillery, who tried to knock out Russian paratroopers from Gostomel. No one else will be able to create such an aircraft. By and large, it is not needed, it is very expensive.

A real Soviet engineering miracle!
What’s that music? It’s great! It should be on streaming services.
sadly the plane got destroyed by the war 😢
Why?
@@YourlocalAviator-01why u asking him
The AN-225 is a Soviet heritage and a symbol of friendship between the Russian and Ukrainian peoples. It is worth paying tribute to the designers of this miracle, who were natives of the RSFSR and the Ukrainian SSR. May peace reign again, so that mankind can march forward to new horizons.
This air plane is now history.
Thank you very much such a great video. I just subscribed and activated the bell.
ITS FIRST TAKEOFF IN MY BIRTHDAY🎉 destroy in Ukraine 🇺🇦 war😢
💔💔
beautiful gigantic beast truly.
I was glad to be in Billund, Denmark, to see it's final departure. 🇩🇰 Respect to Antonov and Ukraine 🇺🇦💪🏻
The plane was built in USSR. Ukraine hasn't built anything for its 30 years (just a reminder).
@@rupiter2008Nobody asked lil bro
So... Volga Russians:
*Real Russia/Provincial Russia,* Middle Volga river, Volga Federal District, Togliatti city ("Stavropol-on-Volga" until 1964) - population 685,619 people, ethnic composition: ethnic Russians 87%, Tatars 4%, Ukrainians 2%, Mordvins 1.5%, Chuvashes 1.5%. Other ethnic groups include ethnic Germans (Volga Germans), Poles, Jews and Koreans, who make up less than 0.5% of the total population. Municipal Gymnasium № 38, First School Day Ceremony 2024, Vocal Studio, song "Hello, School!"(Shkola, Privet), short clip

Antonov 225 forever in the history of aviation

wow such an amazing cargo plane, love to see it some day. Thanks for the great video, it would be great if you included metric measurements to the imperial measurements
it’s been destroyed
@@dachosen1625 thanks for the reminder, the chance that is being rebuild is still there
How it worked*
Thanks Biden
This plane had so much fan all over the world coming to see on every air port. Jealousy killed it begging of war
🤣🤣
Respect to the camara man for trying to do all of this
Incredible engineering. Beautiful. 🇺🇦😢
Whats the music Name at 3:40???
Fits the documentary very well
What an astonishing bird
Did you find it ?
@gunjitkumar unfortunately not
4:22 "aircraft can go 2 hours without refueling"
4:06 "aircraft has 18 hours flight time"
WHAT??????
when fully loaded? several hundred tons make a difference in fuel xD
As stated in the video, it’s two hours when fully loaded.
Thank you for the information
And so good
USSR POWER
Still the most beutifull plane in the world really hope it gets rebuilt !!
@Thefreetimer stop saying "kyiv" you stunning and brave npc, I bet you were still calling it kiev before 2022 😂😂😂
@@Chris-nn3vu Never. I’ve been born after USSR collapsed and in all Europen countries and even school books it was always called Kyiv. And you’ve changed topic) seems you understood that you wasn’t right)
@@Chris-nn3vu It's Kyiv since the day it was built. Only russians call it "kiev"
Good thing there is Antonov 124
It was the USSR design firm Antanov, in 1988 Ukraine didn’t exist as a country
Maximize friction between cargo and track or minimize? 6:22
Created by the Soviet Union, destroyed by the Russian Federation it's almost poetic
I'm 14 and this is deep
5:17 woww, super cargo airplane.... I remember a scene from the 2012 film
No. Ukraine revived An-225 (it was actually grounded) and modernised it to better suit tasks of international heavy transportation
it was manufactured in Ukraine, like most part of missles and rockets which we had to give away to Russia according to the Budapest memorandum. No worries it was built in Ukraine by ukrainian people.
If u dont know - dont speak. U will look smarter.
3:01 Aaaah yes, the nagavator…
Rest in Peace, queen of my sky

Beautiful plane
By and large, it is not needed, it is very expensive.
why do you have a lot of Russian bots here....
@@annashyron8319 These are not bots, but people who tell the truth and bring it to you through your propaganda)
