@@AnimeAjay Don't worry, i won't judge You. By The way, i'm working on a Dragon Ball Fan Animation, so would you give me some Tips & Advices to improve My Artstyle & Animation?
Kozues animation was superb. With these character models and sheets, that beautiful smear, squash and stretch, look so perfect. I hope she has a bigger role to play as the series goes on.
its crazy how daima's quality gave such a high expectations on people that the start of the action fight in this episode feels lacking when its far above super's frieza arc, you love to see how much db animation standards now have changed
It was really funny how Goku and Panzy were having little arguments throughout the episode. I also felt really excited how Goku turned Super Saiyan. Even thought it was for a second. It was a great feeling to notice that Goku had complete mastery of the Super Saiyan form.
Also, Ajay never really bothered to identify who drew that little gag scene where the Third Demon King ordered his men to get a new ship for Glorio since his got stolen in an earlier episode.
Agree in how good the art direction is, I've wanted a real big dive and exploration into a new world since the introduction of the multiverse, and Daima is really delivering. I'm already really liking the demon world
Takahashi is so talented. He can channel 90’s Yamamuro, Shintani, Daima character sheets, and even some Toriyama homages like the one you point out. He really is both an excellent artist as well as someone who has a clear love for the history and design behind Dragonball. I hope he has a long future with the franchise. Also, I think Shintani is actually my favorite out of the 4-way comparison you showed. His Goku is so wonderfully old school feeling with the shapes and shading.
Nakatsuru my beloved. His style is easily my favorite of the chief ads so far, and it is funny that he is the off-model one. It certainly makes me feel better when I draw off model to my own sheets that I have to make for whatever. Also I always believed in Shimanuki being the blueprint😤
Your vids are so fun as always! Takahashi definitely feels the most on model I've seen him as CAD, I'm still excited for him tho You made me feel even more excited for Ep 6 !
I didn't notice the lack of hair movement in the first half of the fight, but I DID notice it the moment it cuts back from the smoke plume shot. It immediately caught my eye as super flowy, I loved it! On Nakatsuru drawing like his designs, I noticed how much longer Goku's limbs were in the police fight in ep.4. It felt like in motion, he had the original design length legs and less round in the body too.
I appreciate how you not only go through the usual episode analysis, but also add some specific insight every episode. Talking about storyboarding before, and now on how you work on detecting different animators
Kozue's section blew me away. As much as I've been loving the show so far I think it is time for a change in the pacing and production. I understand the show's schedule has allowed for amazing levels of polish, but the limited boards and occasionally stiffer animation have me hoping that it's because of what's coming up next. The next episode preview showed a lot of promise, so I'm hoping we see more of the action all-stars strutting their stuff. Great breakdown as always
Takahashi's corrections (or lack there of) this week definitely resulted in the most visually inconsistent episode of the series so far, but I do largely enjoy the differences those resulted in. Key word MOST lol. Looking at you, strange random eye socket shadings
Naotoshi Shida has been one of my favorites for animation and his style of characters. Always love to see his work on Dragon Ball and One Piece. Maybe he will show up next week and that would be fantastic to see his work as I love his shading
His drawings are great but I m not a big fan of his creepy /fastforwarded kind of animation which he done in DBS. Some of the animations looked fastforwarded rather than fast paced fighting
I agree the big fight choreography started stiff. But I soon as I saw those spear dodges I was engrossed (I guess the Wit Studio part). Was waiting for this video to see the review of that.
The chief supervisor Takahashi ordeal is certainly funny. I do believe Nakatsuru's corrections are the least compelling so far, I find him kinda boring and too linear compared to the other chief supervisors. He sadly got worse due to age, and to be honest, even though Goku's hair isn't as blocky as 2010s Yamamuro, that grey gloss remains appalling. They were going so well with Shintani in 2018 with 100% black hair.
How can there only be 20 episodes when we haven't even hardly explored the realms? They didn't even start exploring until episode 3. There are a ton of environments we haven't seen yet from promotional material, including unique areas in the 3rd demon world. We don't have the other team here yet and most of the OP and ED shows most of the adventure happens with all of them. It looks like they may be coming by episode 7, 8 or 9. Which is 1/3 to almost half way into the show being finished? We haven't seen Dr. Arinsu since the first episode and haven't seen Degesu since episode 2. Outside of what we got this episode (#5) we haven't seen anything about Gomah's end game. There is a lot of necessary plot development in order for this to be a complete story. I really hope that this incredible piece of work does not become a rush job with a bunch of contrivances. I know Ajay knows how many episodes have actually been completed, but there is no way they do this story justice with only 15 episodes left and we're still in the 3rd demon world, still haven't fought the first Tamagami, still have tons of characters to meet and characters that need development as well...
Man, Kozue should have animated that whole fighting scene. It really looked diferent from the slow part of that fight, was it an animation issue or Goku re-learning his speed, martial arts because he's a kid now ? Anyways, that Kozue had some very good visuals.

I hope that later on when there is an intense battle takahashi falls back on using 90s inspired designs because it would be awesome to see everyone having z's angular style
@Shivam-vr6eh in the piccolo daimao arc Gokus drawing when staring at piccolo was alot like early z I meant like that even though that's not the 90s 😅. But I would really like to see the all the mini characters have boo saga like designs
