After hearing this I don't think I will ever hear anything better in my whole life. Everything is perfect, from the melodies, to the percussion, the brass, Merethe's voice...the whole thing. Thomas Bergersen is arguably the best orchestral/cinematic composer of our time.

I find it a little sad when people only mention Thomas. I think that Nick Phoenix deserves as much praise. It is arguable who is better, but I think they are best together as Two Steps From Hell.

AsgardianTimeLordPianist I agree with you though this is a Thomas Bergersen's solo track, not Two Steps From Hell. Would make no sense to praise another composer who took no part in this amazing track when my comment was about this particular one.

Thomas Bergersen and Hans Zimmer cannot be compared......Both of their music worlds are different.......Hans' world is scoring to picture and he has limitations according to the movie he is scoring....Thomas's world is Epic Music and his 4 min tracks describe a lot of things..... so they both are great at what they do and they sit on two different thrones.......

@@novastar6112 It was through music like that of Thomas' that I came to appreciate the legendary romantics; Beethoven, Schubert, Tchaikovsky, Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninov, Wagner, Debussy, Satie ... Then Mozart, Bach, Handel, and Vivaldi soon followed. Music like this is a great intro into the musical legends. I know I don't stand alone...

my dad introduced me to electronic music when I was a kid growing up in the 70's. He listened to Vangelis, Jean-Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk, Jan Hammer etc. He passed away in 2000 - he never got to see such epic films as Sunshine, Inception, Interstellar, Oblivion, Gravity, Tron Legacy, The Dark Knight trilogy... he would've loved all these fantastic soundtracks.

Born i '72, and my dad fed me all that... He's still crazy about Vangelis... But when I (kinda) forced him to watch Interstellar at an IMAX (Dolby Atmos) theater, he was just as blown away like I was... Since then, he like I never got the same out of other sci-fi's... Nothing since... Could ever reach to that level for us... It's all just... Meh...Too bad you didn't get to experience it with him... Billions of galaxies
    Billions of suns
Many people explore the great unknown
    Looking up and wondering
    What's out there?
Is there another living life for
Or is it us just over there?
    We may never know
The balance of space or time
But what we do know is that the evidence is worth more than a dime
    The space we live in
    The universe alive
    This is our home

Just makes me want to travel through space and observe everything from the very edge of it all, but I cannot, because no matter how hard I try, it's too far and it would take too much time. And by the time we reach the edge, the sons of my sons one-thousand-fold would have perished and my body would have nurtured the Earth for billions of years... if it still exists. I also thought, "Hans is evolving his music into something new and bold and electric! If he keeps writing music like this he will easily pull away from the rest as my favorite modern film composer."
