- I shredded and melted down over 3000 soda cans. I had to go to a very special place to melt these down as it was a MASSIVE amount of aluminum. This took over 3 days to complete.

nice recycling, just one question: why separate the cans to mix them after grinding?
Great question! There was just so many Redbull cans I had to lol
In other words, you have all the time in the world, because that was a very long process.
@@PressTube You should have done something special with them, like cast them into wings, a bull, or something. 100K views vs 1000K views.
@@Amipotsophspond Why don't you do it then? You will get those views. He did what is did and not your way.
Courage to transport dirty cans in the Audi RS6 hahahahhahahah
hahaha, anything for a good video
That’s all I kept thinking, not the rs6
😂
Yeah Jesus.
After all-it's just a Audi.
In Michigan in the United States, there are recycling machines in nearly every grocery store. When I worked at one of my local stores, I had the task of emptying out the hopper when it got too full. You get a little bit of money for each can returned. So when I read the title of this video, I instinctively thought to myself “Oh cool. He got $300.”
wow u get 10 cents to same im in oreogon and we aolso get 10 cents but we dont need groshre stores we have bottle drop easy fast free
In The Netherlands (where he did the melting proces) there's the same thing. Like 0,10 euro's per can. Unfortunately he lives in Belgium where are no laws about this thing
Poland is not prepared for such rewarding recycling program.
After thinking about it twice… WTF is that margin for a scrap dealer?
Germany 25 Cent
Dumps all cans on ground, picks them up with a mini front loader, then proceeds to pick them all up again by hand. 👏🏼
I am a genius what can i say :)
Nice RS6
Thank you! I just got it a bit ago and could not be more happy!
@@PressTube Well I am delighted to hear that you love it, Audi RS6 is one of the greatest cars in my opinion.
Awesome! Was not expecting the factory forge. I thought it would be like you're old videos with you big home forge. I was confused on why you were loading everything back into the car.
haha yep, i needed to go big this time :)
I dont have the money to afford one of those industrial shredders, so i took it another route. I reversed engineered a micro shredder to use for those cans. Truly works great, the trick is that the teeth arent as big for obvious reasons, and so i gotta maintain some pressure on the cans so they dont just keep squirming around, which is only an issue when the pile gets low.
The whole time I was thinking, “cut soda cans are so sharp, I’m glad he wore gloves.” Man this was cool! I wish I had the cool tools to play around with.
The shredding machines you have are impressive. I think the breakage (and all the dross) shows why people say cans are a bad source for casting aluminum.
i totally agree
When it's free (not so much in this case though!) It's FREE.
If all you're doing is casting plates, rod or disk billets for your own use it's definitely cheaper than buying new ali stock.
Doing all that driving around though will cost a lot these days, (not very green) plus the foundry costs. 🤔🥴🙄
Cans have paint, plastic lining & some iron for the lid opener, so yeah not that easy
It was a good question
Cans also have plastic lining & paint
bulgaria liscence plate; AUDI car, drives only on left lane - this man has learned some important lessons in Germany
This guys still in the red after spending 25k on those machines
am i? :D Thanks for watching!
Hey Ben!! Welcome back.. That was a great video! Wish it was longer and heard your voice again.. Don’t give up on us 😄🍻👍
Hi Bill, thank you so much! I appreciate this a ton. Been hesitant to post on here because the TH-cam algorithm got me good :/ I am back now and in full force! I will consider adding my voice next time :D
This was a very cool different style of video, well done!👏🔥
Woohoo! Thank you!
Turning trash into treasure, so inspiring! 💪🌟
That's pretty cool to see the process! 👍🙂
Best ASMR I’ve seen in awhile!!!! I try to look for this comment but I gave in! Good Job mate!! I’d love to do this myself, but obviously it’s a passion! Thank you! ✨🔥✨💜✨🌊✨
I saw it. At 0:51 there is coca cola can mixed with redbulls
whooops lol
noop , it's a red redbull
This all looks real good... however it cant be green. Fuel, Electric (mixer and shredders) as well as all that heat to melt the stuff...
Nah it's actually silver...
Nice video man. The sand casting seemed like it took a lot of effort for the foundry guys, did they want to do it that way for something to film or is that the preferred way when dealing with large amounts of aluminiun?
They normally make vents for the shipping industry, and they use a lot more aluminum for that. But they’ve never made ingots like this before so it was a little thinking of how they gonna do it
Aside from storage and transport, which is understandable, was there a reason to grind the cans to that consistency?
Considering you will get slag regardless, was curious if there were other reasons.
My initial plan was to melt all this is my own crucible which is much smaller then the ones Winteb used.
Fair enough.
glad to see you here again ben!
Thank you! I hope to be back for a while now!
Very cool to see that there are stil small companies casting things on a "small" scale In europe ( dont know if its in the Nederlands or in belgium). Good video
Thank you, yea there is still a few of us out there
How much does it cost to have it casted? Do you have any experience with CNC chips that have traces of coolant liquids?
I need that grinding machine in my life.
I like your video . I did the same in a small scale just for fun. Thanks for share. Saludos desde Argentina
Thanks for watching!
Wow this guy has all the tools typically found at the average home. 😊
I love the video, but why did you put the shredded metal in a cement mixer?
In west Virginia where I live the price of aluminum at my local recycling center is $.40 a pound and what you have there is $20.64 total
Awesome video! Was very entertaining. And damn 51 pounds of melted can.
Thank you!!!!
I like it when you melt better. But uts so cool to see how a company does it!😊
Thank you Tracy, Ill go for the melt myself next time. Cheers!
Yes make sure u separate the cans and then put them all together again.
I was curious as to how many there were :)
To me all that was to much work to do then carry them and melt them down ( it probably costed t0 melt them down) but thats my opinion, i think it's neat to watch all of the processes though, its very educational 😊😊
This video has 45mil views on Facebook ;)
23.4kg for avg aluminium price of £1 per kg, not the best deal for the work - reward ratio. However, for some reason great stuff to watch this process ;D. I am sure you will make up with the views 😉.
nice vid.. LOVE THE RS6
I love it too! Thanks so much!
In Germany one can is 0,25€. We call it Pfand. So 750€
lol. good to know :)
In Québec, Canada, it's only 0,05$ so 150$ Can. And they wonder why some people still throw them away...
Aside from showing us how much you like redbull... why separate if they just get mixed after shredding?
I wanted to show how much this fan i picked up the cans from, loved redbull :) Thanks for the comment Jordan!
@@PressTube lol that fan needs to accept sleep as a reality of life, can't fight it forever!
Nice job. Lovve those mechines wish i had them lol
Thanks 👍
Mix the last small parts with resin!? For tables, furniture? Fun?😊
Is this how TERMINATOR T-1000
is made?
RS6 Like Button
No need to secure the bin in the back its not gonna flip kver or spill out but will scratch and damage plastic trim and cery cool video. And how did you get so many cans so fast like that where do you get them from mostly
Any plans for the aluminum you've harvested?
That’s like, $25 on a good day
ZOVEEEEEL STATIEGELD HAHAHAHA
1:00 why you sort the cans and then shreeded togather??
Very nice AUDI RS6 V8 - Biturbo.
Thank you! I love it as well. The HP on it is amazing!
Wow 😮 A quelle tempréature l'aluminium fond? Merci
just an idea, next time when you dump cans put a layer of sheet so you can pick all of them up at the same time.
Why not built a multi-tier grinder? Put the coarsest one on top, and it empties into a medium one, which empties into a finest one on the bottom
interesting :)
Cause, usually on proper scale you separate the size what's grinded before cycling them back ...
You'll use screens n vibrating table for in between ...
But the use the gravity stand a nice process too ...
An open flame is quite better to avoid calcination the impurities ...
It's paint for the larger part ...
But if you don't let it burn, you'll just de-oxidize the elements structure, so it just turn in coal like ...
Maybe if you apply proper pressure you'll create artificial diamonds ...
Sure, lot of things to say bout that fight for oxygen once metal turns liquid ...
Sometimes, quite less ...
I must admit !!!
Dare, care, ride safe, clean, have fun ...
From France with .
The fine shredder should be placed under the course shredder to save effort and time.
How much is aluminum per kilogram there? Im only asking. Because with my math.. the cast aluminum per kilo would only be worth about 23 usd... do you fabricate anything in particular with your solid aluminum ingots?
if I noticed correctly, he only separated cans from red bull, maybe he didn't want it to happen "red bull gives you wings"
😂🤣😂🤣
Fun video!
I enjoyed watching the process. How often do you do that?
Not too often, had the opportunity to pick these cans up and went for it :)
It was very interesting to me
Real crime is filling up a RS6 with soda cans
Wow 😮 that can save the earth ! 🎉
i dont get it.... why go through the trouble of separating the red bull cans at the beginning only to mix them with the other cans when they are shredded ? what am I missing ?
jajaja, buena :)
Where did you get your shredders?
From this company in Germany, waited 3 years for delivery.
@@PressTube Would you be able to give some links?
Where did you buy the shredder?
a company in Germany. Took about 3 years to arrive though lol
ive melted aluminium before but only once, i dont see how its worth shredding the cans, i know the air pockets can make it dangerous to melt right away, but shredding it 10 times or so dont seem to make sense. You could just buy a furnace or make your own with propane and do it all at home like most people doing this will do. Maybe make smaller castings so its easier to remelt also, melting like 5kg at once dont make sense unless you end up using it all, which is often not the case, i would do like half a kilo or less per mold. You can use a old fire extinguisher as a crucible if u need a cheap one, works for about 10 meltes depending on the size. You can also use the furnace to make bullets and maybe sell those for extra income, bullets tend to be made of lead though.
Thanks for the advice!
So you just had that grinding up stuff at your house?
Wouldn't shredding the cans expose more metal surface area, resulting in more of the aluminium being oxidised than if they were melted whole?
perhaps but melting them whole would have been more complex given the mass and size. At the end it did indeed lose some weight
Don't forget the paint and plastic layer inside the cans that gets burned away
Some one as way too much time on their hands. Lol. But it is fun to watch the video.
Do you know why Steven Spielberg makes movies? :) They also take a lot of time to make ;)
Whoa whoa whoa!!! 0:50 - there's a coke can in with the Red Bull cans! WTF, Bro?!?!?
It’s red bull ;) Red edition or something like that. I’ve also never seen them before
Does somebody know, how to build the type of „clamping rail“ in the car trunk to fix in place boxes etc?
It came with the car.
Yoo nice satin black rs6
That RS6 took all the profits in that one journey. Plus there wants much money in that anyway
:D
Very neat to watch. But anticlimactic. Was waiting for some awesome casts.😂
I also collect cans for recyсling. Don't you know price for such cans in your region?
Just casually has an RS6
Hola!!! Sabes cuántos kilos de latitas usaste???
I watched a few seconds of this and said to myself: WHY ???? Then moved on with my life.
cost him more to melt the Cans than they are worth.
So anticlimactic that the big ingot broke, still fun video!
Btw, how many red bull cans where there?
Cheers!
i felt the same :/
I am kinda disappointed you didn't melt and mold it by yourself,i miss metal casting video you very often do
Thank you for the honest feedback Jonathan. I will try to do one in house next time. It was just to big for my mold :/
What was the point of the sort? Just wondering!!
Nice numberplate! :)
Thank you! I love it as well
Imagine how much pfund in germany this would be...
Process : First separate the cans for just 10 hours , and then grind the cans and then mix all the grinded can pieces in a minute,, simple..
exactly :)
how much did it Weight before?
31.3kgs
I love your Audi!
Thank you Glen! I love it too!
Hermosa Linda ❤❤❤❤❤
…and why make the particles that small before melting?
Would of got you $300 cash here in Australia just as cans.
100x as much in ad revenue ;)
In sweden those cans would give you 150 bucks...

thank you! I appreciate this!
