- If there is a classic trek in India, it has to be the Rupin Pass. This trek is like an orchestra, building up momentum with surprises in scenery every hour or so. With every step, the trek throws up a new vista to see, a new scenery to unfold. The Rupin Pass trek is a trek that gives you a true sense of adventure. There is a surprise in scenery on every turn. It is a special trek that ranks well among the erstwhile Roopkund Trek and the Hampta Pass Trek. One of the biggest highlights of this trek is the climb to Rati Pheri from the Upper waterfall campsite, and the steep ascent to Rupin Pass through the gully, all this at 15,380 ft.
Rupin Pass is one of the Top 10 treks to do in India. In fact, it is on top of the list. The best time to do the Rupin Pass trek is in the summer months of May, June and then the post-monsoon season between mid-September and mid-October.

I agree with you, Arjun. Everyday is a surprise on Rupin Pass trek. Definitely one of the most beautiful treks in the Himalayas.
Rupin pass is on Indus/Ganga divide. I think it is true: Indus goes to Pakistan to enter the Arabian sea eventually, and Ganga at least to the India/Bangladesh border area in Bay of Bengal, do they not?
Someday I want to go there.

Well, October is not really a month for snow on any treks. It's post-monsoon and most of the snow is usually washed off. Rupin Pass will have a few patches of snow after the 14,000 ft mark, but not much.

Between mid-May and late June (for a snow experience), and post-monsoon from mid-September to mid-October (for a green experience). These would be the best months to do this trek. :)

May and June are the best months to do this trek if you want to see snow. If you have time in the second half of the year, then September and October are fantastic months to do the trek!

May-June would be the best months to see snow on the trail, especially the snow fields at Rati Pheri. If you want to trek later in the year, then Sept-Oct would also be a great time. The forests and meadows come to life in these months.
