Vacationed in Rotonda West twice from Scotland, love the place, Publix just up the road and Englewood nearby.
So I'm 34 and looking for a change of scenery in my life and am considering moving from Texas to Fl..I've been looking at a few properties in this area but have been discouraged by a few people telling me this isn't really a place for someone my age..I keep hearing this is primarily a retirement community and I'd be bored out of my mind trying to find people my age to do things with..I was hoping you could maybe shed some light on this for me and tell me how things are there seeing how you live there..thanks.

Rotonda West is a wonderful community, with low density. If you like to live a more peaceful life focusing on outdoor activities such as golfing, fishing, hiking, swimming, running, nature, exploring beaches and parks, you will definitely love it. The median age in Rotonda is 59.6 and the median house price is $429200. It is true that, at the age of 34, you are younger than the median age, but it really depends on what you are looking for.
If you could give me some more details about what your ideal lifestyle would be, such as a top 10 list, I could be even more specific and even send you some listings to explore.
I would also suggest that you consider renting a vacation home for a week or two in the area so you can see if it is the right fit for you. If you prefer more people and activities, take a look at Venice, Lakewood Ranch, or Sarasota as these areas have more shops, restaurants, and nightlife.
