I just found this old video of some local waterfalls that I frequent! Cool to see your footage and to see how much you've grown in 5 years! Cheers, your photography is inspiring. Happy Trails...
About 120 or so yards east of the bridge at Elowah falls,a side trail takes off on the right(at the top of a rise in gorge trail 400) and goes to two stunning views of Elowah falls in just a short distance from gorge trail 400.
Ill be visiting the Columbia River Gorge this October, and unfortunately can't visit the stunning Elowah falls due to the fires :( Maybe one day I'll go
Nice Video again Mads ! Love the Elowah falls composition. When I was there it was just me and I did take any chances moving myself to the top of slippery rocks. Still managed to get a good shot, but like yours better. In the future can we expect info on how you frame your shot and what gear you used, and why ?
Thanks Bobin :) Yeah I'll probably make some video about gear and photography... and it'll be called something like "Gear doesn't matter - vision does" ;) I don't know when but when I get more comfortable with it and can make something that really matters :)
Hi Mads. I am a new subscriber to your channel, first finding your Faroe Islands video. Thanks so much for this Columbia River Gorge series! I grew up in in Portland and of course saw Multnomah Falls but never went to all these others in 18 years living there! I am starting landscape photography and I want to go back! The video at 3:05 of Elowah Falls is gorgeous. My favorite. Gear Question: is that an AW350, or 450 backpack? I have the AW 350 but can't pack 16-35mm, 20-70, and also 70- 200 with full frame camera. Just curious since I don't want to leave gear behind in the car, as you said. Great channel and narrative!
Hi Mark! Fantastic - thanks for joining :) You should definitely go back and remember to see all the other waterfalls too, which I didn't get to explore ;) I have the AW350 too. Yes space is a problem and I'm currently trying to buy/sell gear so I can have it all in the 350. My trick is to not bring the 24-70. I actually don't own one anymore. And I'm seeking to downgrade my 70-200 f/2.8 to a f/4. I might buy the Tamron 28-300 instead and just go with that, my 16-35mm and the 20mm f/1.4. I did just buy the Sigma 24-105, since I missed a good all-round lens, but I'm not sure I'll bring that on my travels.
Great video again Mads... is it so bright here that you have managed to get only 0,8 sec exposure with a ND6 filter on in first photo ? btw, you did a quite good job with the last waterfall, I like it more than the others :)
Mads you wanna film some waterfalls? come to my hometown in Niagara Falls we have some pretty impressive falls :) and a gorge that is pretty impressive too
We hope that in another year or so they open back up all those trails along the gorge that got destroyed in the worst wild fire they have ever seen in that area.

You’re so lucky you got to go to some of these places before the fire. I live in the area and never get tired of the Gorge. Great shots!
I'm really enjoying this series...keep them coming!

msaric10 yeah with an aperture of only 4.5 it's possible :)
What wide angle lens would you recommend? We're going in 4 weeks and I have several lens, but only want to take one. Which one would you take.
