- As soon as we got all the equipment unloaded it became quickly apparent that we were up against major supplier delays. Both the concrete and rebar we needed to complete the job. Both out of our hands. Perfect opportunity to make lemonade from a bag of lemons!
That left us with a couple of unplanned days of free time with the heavy equipment! Brent had several projects he wanted to accomplish and so we dove right in. From digging footings to creating parking pads to unearthing buried mine entrances!! Any time there is an opportunity to operate equipment you can count me in!!

I can remember when we used to only have this kind of content on Discovery, History, and Nat Geo....now those are all reality channels and we get 10x the better content on TH-cam, keep it up Jax!

Just wait, it will eventually become like cable. Adding advertising does it. Cable was once very good. They lied to us and said pay for cable, no commercials. Then they added ad money to the mix. great shows went away for ad time. SUCKED!

@@Buck1954 You Tube works because individuals produce the content. You Tube only needs to find the advertising. Virtually no cost to the channel, but lots of income.

I wish I was forty years younger and had my Peterbilt and was there with you all and had my Music Instruments. We could do one heck of a Mountain Music Show. Cousin Clem aka Clem Johnson. That was in my prime time in life. I was a Entertaining Truck Driving Heavy Equipment operating fool.. I miss my life so much. I still have my beard and although not much hair anymore it is still down to my shoulders and I stll love making up songs about reality in life.

These videos up at Cerrto Gordo made me start following both of you. You doing the souls of a thousand miners ditty was killing it! Thank you for driving your COE that day when Heavy D passed you. That and when you and Diesel Dave chugged along into Death Valley made for great video content even if you were terribly uncomfortable with the heater on with the doors propped open. I drive a COE but mine is an old Ford Falcon Club Wagon that vapor locks after she gets hot.

you guys rock because yall are humble and not stuck up i love watching you guys because you inspire me and alot others im so glad your helping cerro gorro he deserves the help your givieing him he spent his life saveings on this mine like the last video tou pulled up an ore cart how asome is that. there is another thing he needs help with he wanted to do something with the ore carts that are on the trolly cables and put them in the museum the only way to get them down is by helicopter that would be an epic video filming you guys with the helicopter bringig ore caert and other artifacts down there.it would also be cool to bring those heavy trolly cable whell motors down also to add to the museum i love what yall are doing your helping to preserve history that happened 100 years ago.yalls attitude and good well doing has a great impact on all of us who watch finally something positive thanks lov yall god speed

I feel so bad for those Chinese miners. I heard Brett say that that level of the mine was very unstable because of the soil and was dangerous. Belshaw knew this and I believe he sent those men down to that level because he felt they were expendible. Such a shame, they should never have been working on that level.

Ohh man, so many back stories !! Like the Macdonald’s 🤣🤣 bad boy drive the four wheeler like 30 miles one way to get that stuff! The spider ironically kicked me out. The only other bed left was the haunted bunkhouse. So there I slept! I’ll take ghosts over big spiders!

I woke up with a 8” centipede that crawled into my sleeping bag sleeping out in the desert. I didn’t have a flashlight so I just stayed out of my tent until sunrise then went in found it and killed it. I thought it was a scorpion that was crawling over my chest till I saw it in the morning.

Jax: "Last i could hear is they're thinkin they're feeling some air come through, digging their way through another collapse (looking for old rotten levis) I got alot of miles left to drive so i figured i better wait here and be the lookout". "Dont know if you could hear another collapse.. So i better go look".(and not look for old rotten levis). Smart Man Jax,, one mans fool hearty dream looking for old levis in a rabbit hole, could easily lead to another mans peril following that lead.. I live at the bottom of the hill below Cerro Gordo Known that mountain for 50 years, Knew it's previous owners and old miners who are now all passed, who actually mined up there. Known lots of experienced people who have both worked & explored those mines extensively. Kinda funny to watch a city boy move up there with a big dream, a good dream, but he does throw alot of caution to the wind, in his obsessive self quest looking for old rotton Levis.

@@realwildwildwest yeah Jax, it's a wild place indeed & the wild west is still alive and well in many ways here in Inyo,, Inyo in native tongue means "Dwelling place of the Great Creator". Like Gods Country or the Promised land for those early occupiers & immigrants and new comers/ flatlanders seeking their fortune or mountain paradise. It's a land of many extremes from Death Valley to the High Sierra. Funny thing about Inyo, This place will either embrace you completely, or chew you up & spit you out in pieces, sending you packing back to wherever you came from, depending on your reverence, appreciation & level of patience. Nothing is convenient or at your fingertips here (except a keyboard when the internet connection works properly)) If you are in a hurry or expect instant gratification you'd be out of dumb luck & best move closer to a Wal -Mart. In the 50 some years since i moved to this area from the south coast in the late 60's Lone Pines population has not grown at all, despite outdoor recreation tourism growing 20 fold or more. If anything it's at least a couple hundred people less in town than there was even 25 years ago, Yet when i came out to Keeler from Lone Pine 23 years ago there were 17 people living here full time, almost a Ghost town, now there are 60 souls. and most of the ghosts have either possessed the new urban resident refugees, or are gone. Well i enjoy your homespun channel Jax & gotta get me some of that Beard Magic..yeehaw...
