The PoP Lost Crown will be the 1st Ubisoft game i've bought in over a decade

I like it too. But I’m going to be honest. The freedom we had in the magnificent 3d original was truly amazing and I miss that freedom here. I still find that 15+ year old game superior. I don’t like being restricted going left to right for this type of adventure. Fun. Good combat graphics, sound etc….But I wanted to open up that beautiful world I saw behind our beloved character.
@@GisherJohn24have you tried sands of time recently? Because I have and it did not hold up the least for me. If you didn't maybe nostalgia... And of you did and still like it... Even better.

Soon as I heard of this game, knowing nothing but what it looks like and it's gameplay, I knew I would like it. Also, couldn't resist it, since they game me the option. First playthrough... Immortal.
Prince of persia the lost crown is definitely a gem that dropped for the month of January especially after my birthday 1/13.🥂😎
I personally really enjoyed it...loved the puzzles and platforming they laid out. The combact for me is a step up vs games like hollow knight and ori. It provides more combos and juggles along with great response. I definitely did get invested in the story as well. I dont everyone to like it like me but i will say if you like the prince of persia or a big fan of metriodvanias i would recommend this.
Good review! The demo has been a fun time. Can't wait to play the actual game. Hopefully we can get a new MetroidVania genre/title from this universe every few years or so moving forward and the support from us POP fans helps make the direction of the Remake and new 3D titles stellar. Ubisoft REALLY did terrific work on Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown! 🤙🏽

Great game. I consider it to be among my top 3 favorite metroidvanias of all time, amongst Ori Will o the Wisps and Hollow Knight.
Can't wait for this game, and "Tales of Kenzera : ZAU".
Finally someone talked about it. I literally preordered it after the world premiere on the game awards, it looks really nice.
Ubisoft actually made a game I want to play.
They frequently make games I like to play. I don't like the narrative that Ubisoft doesn't make anything good or unique when that clearly isn't true.
I played rainbow 6 on n64 and it was pretty fun. I also liked rayman for ps1.

I was pretty disappointed when I first heard what type of game this would be, since I really don't like Metroidvania type of games, especially all the backtracking and stuff. But well, I was curious so I finished the demo on both PC and PS5 and both times I didn't want to stop to play. Final result: I pre-ordered the game on PS5 and I really hope I'll like the full game as much as I liked the demo.

What happened to his time rewind power? Looks like a decent game but when I think of Prince of Persia I always think of his time manipulating abilities. Did they just not show them on this review?
Your playing as Sargon not the Prince. However I guess twords the midpoint of the game you start really getting some of the wacky time based stuff
Not to spoil anything but there’s a kind of power that if you liked the Sands of Time mechanic you’re gonna LOVE this

I wasn't too sure about this being a side scroller but I loved the demo and all the reviews are excellent. Ordered
The first PoP had the best combat ever.
The first PoP was super hard to play. It had that hardcore Pitfall vibe like those other 2D platformers from back then in the 80s. I personally really started to get really invested when they got PoP 3D. Was pretty janky back in the days. But it did a good job.
Are you talking about the real first PoP or the first Ubisoft PoP?
@@eamk887 I was referring to the VGA DOS port of the Apple2 game that came out around 1990. Very simple combat: forward, backward, swing, parry. It was all about timing and simple tactics. But I loved it. The whole game really.
An highlander game like this should be done. But the cartoon series highlander story.

in the demo there is an amulet for a fifth hit after the 4.
You can hit once then hold attack for a nice mix up. You can power attack. There is an amulet that lets you add more attacks to the string. There are combo air attacks and ground attacks. There are special moves.
Great review👍 and a great game from Ubisoft! I'll definitely play this, although it doesn't feature the titular prince. Plus, I like that they let you have the Warrior Within outfit in this game!
Wasn’t considering this game at all. Looks better than expected though. May pick it up eventually.

There is a remake coming, but it's going through deveploment issues, so you'll have to wait a while.

And secondly, stories about remake are old, fans expected it, and all of the sudden they resign, but release this game instead. And it looks very different from Sands trilogy, and has very strange graphical style, hence disappointment.

Holy crap. Coming from someone who decidedly disliked the Rings of Power for ruining lore, PoP is appropriate and right on. Persians are dark skinned, like the lad in this game.

My only complaint is it looks like a mobile game,iknow they're going for the classic side scroll but they could've atleast made the graphics better. I mean it is a next gen game right?makes me just want to rent it rather that owning it..

It was made to run great on all consoles including the switch. In what world is every game “next gen?” If you like Metroidvanias with exploration and great gameplay, this looks like it. If you just want to stare and complain about graphics then there you go.

You mean the remake? It's going through deveploment hell, just last year the developers changed for the game, and apparently they're rebooting the whole project, so don't expect any news on it for the next 2-3 years.

Fantastic game
Played the demo not really digging the combat. It seems like an average hack and slash game, not bad but not great either. Although i can say if you love your metroidvania type games then this one is for you.
