I’m excited to visit Japan again, the only country that i would love to travel at least once a year. We’ve been watching various walking tours online haha….Cory you’re already sweaty walking around.
Thank you as always for the nice walk. I do have to admit I was glad once you left the construction areas and went more into the side streets. I loved that dead end around the 52 minute mark.
Yeah! I love living here. In my neighborhood, it has a lot of little side roads like in this video and it's absolutely quiet here. Cars almost never drive down the road outside of my building. Love it! Thanks for watching
You're welcome, Rudi! Sorry I was so absent and not uploading so much for a couple of years. Things were a bit rough, but I feel a renewed sense of energy for my channel as I approach the 10-year mark of being on TH-cam. Thanks for your continued support! Cheers!
Really enjoyed this video. The hilly streets brought back memories of growing up in Meguro a long time ago. Back then it was rare to see Mercedes cars, called "benzu" when you saw one people with short pinkies came to mind. Also "Tonki" is a famous tonkatsu restaurant that you passed within half a block of (by the fugu restaurant and Meguro Station).
Oh, that's cool you grew up in this area. Yeah, Benz have that stigma of being the vehicles for "made men" hehehe Oh! Tonki! I'll have to check it out sometime in the future. Thank you for that tip!
One of so many things that I miss about Japan is the tweeting sound the traffic lights make when it's time for us to cross the road. Really love you videos, Sir. Any chance for a 'Let's Get Lost' session in Kamakura?
Yeah dude, for sure. I feel like if you go more west towards Naka-Meguro or Musashi Koyama areas, the housing gets significantly more affordable. Not a bad place to raise a family, I guess! Thanks again for watching and always being awesome!
@@CoryMay81 Honestly if I ever had to live in Tokyo (considered looking for a job at Yokota AFB as an Air Force contractor) id live off one of those towns off the Chuo line, ie Nakano, Tachikawa, etc. Its funny you mentioned it a few times from people asking questions on livestreams but its true that its actually pretty cheap to live in Japan as long as you dont live inside Tokyo or Osaka. Maybe one day i'll start applying to jobs there again lol
Cory, we are **LOVING** the walks - the pre-recorded quality is great! Your commentary ‘the dulcet tones of Cory’ is easy listening and informative, too! Thanks again! 33:10 that is a Strelitzia Reginae, also known as Bird Of Paradise. And yes you got our vote for a bike video! Perhaps Odaiba or alongside the Edogawa River on bike would be cool 😎 🚴 🙏🏻 PS sweaty and smelly…. And moist!
Yay, Stella! I'm very happy you're enjoying the walks so much. Stay tuned for a bike ride video. I'll probably make one in the not-so-distant future before it gets too hot to do so with summer just around the corner. See you then!
I like hearing your flow of thoughts during these walks - quite the same path my own usually take on similar tours around town ("rich people probably live here" - "seems like a nice place to raise kids"). Love the leisurely feeling of these walks. I was just this past week surprised it being the end of May, too; 2 AM on a night walk, the horizon was lit like dawn was about to break - the 'joy' of midnight sun is about us up here soon again (really, the most restless time of the year, imho).
Thanks, Jemppu. I definitely ramble on and on with my random train of thought. Interesting to know you're the same I guess. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
There are quite a few aquariums! I love them so much. My favorite is the Tokyo Sea Life Park in Kasai Rinkai. I was just there 2 weeks ago for my 2nd time. Yokohama and Okinawa have really big ones too. But like you said, Japan has close ties with the sea and fishing, so you can find many aquariums here. I'll try to film one some time!
@@CoryMay81 that’d be such an awesome video! I did a little Google map exploring and apparently there is an aquarium near the hotel before you made it to the station. I love aquariums but I don’t have any near me. It’d be awesome to see what a Japanese aquarium is like 😊
Not a new watcher or non subscriber but Cory is sweaty and smelly :D I really liked the lane with all the cute foodplaces. Also the almost hidden children's park was so interesting. The whole neighborhood give me a bit elite sketchy vibes (dont ask me to explain, it's how I have it in my head haha) , but still very cool
Ahhhh that's it! Bird of Paradise. Thank you! I couldn't remember it exactly, I just remembered "paradise". hehehe Doctors smell like pain and suffering. hahaha Just kidding. Thanks for watching, Lorraine!

hehehe Yeah, sorry about the noise. I had no idea I would encounter that when I started my walk. Thanks for watching, Simon! Have a great weekend.

Woooo~ Thank you, Lilly! hehehe
Thats okay. I must have been distracted and hearing things. Thank you.
Megiddo looks like a very posh people neighborhood. But it also looks like a pretty amazing place to live in.
Yeah, I think it's very accessible to many areas of Tokyo and I'm sure the communities are nice to live in. Thanks for watching, Bittu!

I always wondered if there are a lot of aquariums in Japan since it's an island with such strong ties to fishing and such.

So are you Japanese American, I heard you talk about that in one of your videos. Have a great day
I'm Korean American, but I was born and raised in Japan as a U.S. Navy brat. Thanks for watching, Cyndee!
I remember Meguro, there is a parasite museum there that is free to get in. Not sure if it's still there, but it was pretty interesting.
Yes! Kiseichu Hakubutsukan. They renovated the museum a while ago.
Wow, that sounds really cool! I'm interested in all forms of science, including microbiology and whatnot. I'll look this place up!
33:14 Bird of Paradise? That's the only flower I can think of that has your guess in it.
Thanks, Drake! Yeah, I could only remember “paradise”. Thanks for watching! Cheers~
