Justin Lewis (on the far left, brown hair, tall) was out my instructor for our high school. He truly is a god on the snare drum getting to work with him was one of the most enjoyable things I've ever been lucky enough to do
@Rogers1977 i think at least three people play banished beyond and friends. one is filming, one usually plays banished beyond, except for the bluestars video and one other video i cant think of. banished also plays with his friend abolished abyss or something in one of the bluecoats videos. and that person does indeed march bluecoats.
I love the sound of the shots in Drew's solo. You'd think they would all sound the same but it almost sound like he's using a different stick for each shot.
@bejay20x did you march cavies cause i know some ppl on BC drumline nd BB and AA marched BC just sayin 1 of the BB's marched Green Machine but not the main one
I liked the intro to the snare break at 2:29 better earlier on in the season (at San Antonio, for instance) when it was just the triplet partials on the rim going into the break...
I mean they are good to me. Only because i can produce a nice triplet stroke. But i've used them for so long that i grew to like them than the MS3's by Vic firth.
Shit dude i always feel bad for short guys on lines that do that. They honestly should put the comfort of their players first. i mean, if you're drumming at you freaking chest, it's gonna be hard to play clean
I know you posted this 3 months ago and stuff. But have you seen cadets 2011 snareline. One of them had their snare as low as it could go. The rest of the line was a head below him so his snare had to go low as well.
@classicvansman but who has the cool visuals? SNARES. The cool chops? SNARES. Bad ass splits? BASSES. Truthfully, the bassline is the most important part of a marching band or drum corps, so yea, they should get pampered. O well, snares look cooler :P
most likely you'll have to order one that'll look like theirs. columbus percussion has great stuff, but you can only 100 percent customize the dynasty's
Whos watching this in 2024?
I want this era of Bluecoats again.
It was a great era, but all good things come to an end in life
I think so. And even if not. That visuals ridiculous!
@Rogers1977 one of the banished beyonds marches coats.
Justin Lewis (on the far left, brown hair, tall) was out my instructor for our high school. He truly is a god on the snare drum getting to work with him was one of the most enjoyable things I've ever been lucky enough to do
he aged out already in 2008
That would Luke or Aaron you are talking about.
@FOSSIL13drums looks like the evans hybrid grey.
he marches dci so hes used to projecting his head forward
@Rogers1977 i think at least three people play banished beyond and friends. one is filming, one usually plays banished beyond, except for the bluestars video and one other video i cant think of. banished also plays with his friend abolished abyss or something in one of the bluecoats videos. and that person does indeed march bluecoats.
Teach me the ways of your godly singles heights. oO
i like the rhythm x purple cobra vis haha
@Roger1977 and bejay20x there's 3 ppl that play BB but the main one marches bluecoats and so does abolished abyss
@Frickashade im almost positive the main one split center for cavies in 2009
I love the sound of the shots in Drew's solo. You'd think they would all sound the same but it almost sound like he's using a different stick for each shot.
@bejay20x did you march cavies cause i know some ppl on BC drumline nd BB and AA marched BC

On the stick toss in the drum break, the "3, ay!" always gets me. I don't know why it sounds bad ass.
HYPE!!!!!!!! AHHHH!!!!
have you ever Rythm x in the lot???? its even crazier but their still insanely CLean im mean good GOD!!!
they got fourth in drums
I love how you can see drew say "dammit" under his breath after he drops that stick
@Frickashade Did you know he marched Cavaliers?
omggggg, i wanna march here sooo bad. bluecoats are so fuckin boss!!!!
@Snizzare thanks :) our snareline is using them this year.
Did the second snare drummer from the right march SCV in 2007? look at the videos they look alike.
oh my
Nothing beats that tap-off good god...
Thumb rolls are pretty hard
I miss you Drew Guy, Bleed Blue!
@crossmen20 yeah thats nate he marched SCV
On the last shot of Drew's solo, the ping was so perfect, it actually sounded like a splash cymbal choke. WTF.
imo cavies sound a lot like this line rn
Dang, you said it! Going nuts!
@bejay20x "one of the banished beyonds"? What's that mean?!
Bluecoats just like to have fun
While being amazing
I love how their accents are like a foot above their heads! It's like forte times 30!!!
@Salaripride the right tuning, the right skill, and the right staff
@MasterOfTheStone Very rarely does your local drum shop have them, the best place to buy them is probably off the internet
I always wonder why the snare line rolls up their left sleeve. Visual? lolidk
sounds like it but i doubt it
lol Scott on the tenor line said "thats what she said" right after "We bleed blue" part
love the guy at 0:06 that just goes "jeeeeez"
the shot on :4. Is that him breaking his head? or just a nasty as gock shot? No hate just wondering.
@classicvansman na THIS ONWES FOCUSEFX
man, he nearly shat himself at the end.
hence: "oh my..."
Brett Favre!
@stixx1492
I saw your Bluecoats quad video. Kicks ass man. I hope to be marching tenors with you in the next year. :)
alright, can someone please tell me why they didn't get like fourth at finals????
have not heard CROWN or BD Coats are clean but BD and Crown have that rich deep low end sound that separates them what Phantom usually has
absolutely loved this... sweet visuals... classic intense bluecoats music. fucking awesome
I love this line. They were so awesome in 2009.
I liked the intro to the snare break at 2:29 better earlier on in the season (at San Antonio, for instance) when it was just the triplet partials on the rim going into the break...
i love they way their yamaha's sound, it's almost like the snares have little bb's in them like a pad, nice and wet sounding, at least in the vid
oh yeahhh, it burns.....ahahaha!
what do they say at 2:49??
lmao. I miss these guys. They were funny as hell, but they worked harder than anyone else.
ya boy was feeling that cadence, lol
"skeugh...skeugh...skeughskeugh - SKEUGH."
@arrowood13 Drumgasm
did u kno banished marched bluecoats
@bisquick21 its actually "Dut" but you say it with your chest like a MAN (or woMAN if you're on the line too)
what the hell is the center snare looking at?? he's always looking up and staring off at something lol
@bejay20x why the hell am i thumbs down for saying the cadets are good?
omg they are so good!!
im so excited and scared shitless to try out this year!
The Definition of Bad Ass Right here.
blame the instructors for that. the cadets still kill it every year.
Brett Favre?
theres like 5 "skeughs" randomly said at :54 ish
LOU DUBSON!
how bout we just enjoy the amazing video?
IT BURNS!
haha. i love it!
Did the guy on the right march snare for Rhythm X?
Oh yeah, and Drew Guy kinda looks like Brett Farve from a distance.
It always seems like the bluecoats snareline is on drugs while they warm up
wrong theres multiple
srry meant wgi
@soccerdrummer13 What? XD
@victoriatoma Yeah my high school has everything, but they just need to get new heads.
this is scarily masterful technique. anyone happen to know of any drumlines operating in the United Kingdom?
Lol. 2:10 "Shhhhit" Spock!
yeah ahah
what sticks did they use?
Tim fairbanks i believe or Jim Casellas.
are they good sticks?
I mean they are good to me. Only because i can produce a nice triplet stroke. But i've used them for so long that i grew to like them than the MS3's by Vic firth.
jim casellas are great. i love them
Does anyone have sheet music for this drumbreak? Abby??
I meant the guy on the right at 1:36
drew gets out on those last big singles, shame
What drumheads are the snares using?
he was crushed when he dropped his stick
3:20 All the single ladies...all the single ladies
3:30 "Oh my..."
0:46 out of all people on the snareline Drew Guy dropped his stick!!!
2nd snare from the left's drum his soooo freaking low how does he play all those notes like that?
Shit dude i always feel bad for short guys on lines that do that. They honestly should put the comfort of their players first. i mean, if you're drumming at you freaking chest, it's gonna be hard to play clean
haha wow if you don't mind me asking, what college?
Ah. Ill look anyway, just because i'm curious but anyway, thats cool to know you were center as such a short guy. How tall were you?
That is surprising, but i guess some of them maybe wanted to go to OSU or something.
I know you posted this 3 months ago and stuff. But have you seen cadets 2011 snareline. One of them had their snare as low as it could go. The rest of the line was a head below him so his snare had to go low as well.
thumb roll nooooooo!!!!
2:45
Watch your mouth, Abby.
Band Politics. or in this case... Corps politics
I thought so lol I was like oh shit I've talked to that kid before when he marched scv
@classicvansman but who has the cool visuals? SNARES. The cool chops? SNARES. Bad ass splits? BASSES. Truthfully, the bassline is the most important part of a marching band or drum corps, so yea, they should get pampered. O well, snares look cooler :P
they deserve 1st at least for drumline.
most likely you'll have to order one that'll look like theirs. columbus percussion has great stuff, but you can only 100 percent customize the dynasty's
0:05 jeez
Idk why bit to me dutting(if that's what it's called) is the freaking coolest thing ever
I heard once the Drew Guy punched a man in the arm so hard, his forearms turned into Tom Aungsts
@fregia54 no i mean the guy said "jeez" haha
@F4LL3NFury We do now how to, just need to buy new heads.
what do they say at 2:50? I can never tell.
ive never seen drew dropp his stick.. this is depressing.. but still an amazing vid.. lol
