I absolutely love this game and all of the expansions. I just ordered the latest expansion called poets. Great video as always, keep up the awesome work !!
I was watching this video with headphones on and you can hear the howling of the wind ever so slightly, and it fits perfectly with the theme of the game. A little eerie, but fun nonetheless.
Quickly doing the math so this might be wrong, the max score if you could somehow make every single scull score its maximum value would be 102. 60 of which is all of the skulls that aren't Royals and 42 of which is assuming every Royal skull scores its maximum possible points. From that I can gather that the high scores in this game are very much related to where you put your Royals, which can be very luck dependent based on where they are in the piles. I think I might modify this game to split into a few extra piles and perhaps makes a dig option being to flip up three at a time. You might also give yourself the special action of splitting any given stack in half once per game. It would just be a higher scoring game for most people in that case but I also think it might make it a little less random and a little more fun, since it gives players more options and control over the random element. Game design wise I tend to find Randomness is good when it provides interesting decisions, and in this game case I think expanding the choices you have at any given time might be more fun in general at least for me.
These are some very interesting thoughts. I am with you here: A certain element of randomness is completely fine and I do enjoy this game a lot. Then again, I would enjoy it even more if the randomness was a bit more controlled, if you know what I mean. I like your concepts and might actually try that out to see if that works in the game's favor. 🤔
Nice playthrough! I'm traveling this week and brought along small small box, card games to play solo. I just discovered your channel learning how to play Winterhaven Woods then saw your Skulls of Sedlec video too. Glad I discovered your channel!
That's awesome - I'm happy the video helped you with the game! 🙂✌️ And have fun sleeving your cards! Btw, I will receive the collection of Skulls of Sedlec in a few months - keep an eye out for videos with the expansions in the future. 😁
Thanks, the same to you as well! And you'll definitely able to watch playthroughs of the expansions on my channel after the package arrives here - Probably around March-April. 😁

Thanks! I really enjoy the game, too, but haven't played all expansions yet. I really need to look into those. 🤔

Yeah, it somehow does, doesn't it? It definitely wasn't planned. 😅

Royals score per peasant and royal underneath them, so wouldn't your top left royal score 8 points, not 7? The top right would score 7.
You're right - I missed one point! Thanks for letting me know! 💯
