The GHD sounds like my back in the morning. 😂😂 I had an L5-S1 herniation as well. It’s been good for over a year now. I rehabbed it by reading Stuart McGills books. Now I’m trying to get off the pain management meds. Nothing crazy, just gabapentin, but it’s tough to get off of.

It seems like the strongest also have to be the fittest to podium - a convergence of top, raw power, strength, and crossfit. At least it's not so hard to maintain a level of fitness once achieved. Thanks for the inspiration!
I'm going through the same thing right now, stupid bulged lower back disc. Have to do all the boring core stabilization exercises, but those side planks are like instant repair.

I'm not a Dr, and don't play one on TV. When Tom was doing his push press overhead. It looked like his right hip was lower than the left. I have the same issue and he's doing more weight than I can dream.

It's negligence, pure and simple. Without imaging, no one can know the severity. If he fully herniates, I doubt he will be able to compete at the elite level again.

That's great work Tom, Clearly your L4/L5 bulge is not too serious otherwise you simply would not be able to move, let alone lift! at all. Its funny this should have been picked up the second the pain differed down your leg, it really is basic 1o1 stuff and an MRI scan would have picked it up in a heartbeat. . Any that's in the past and you are where you are. Be mindful that things like helping Luke lift over that bar for his deadlift, will put massive pressure on the disc, so be careful 🙏🖕
