In 2018 the Paradise, California Camp Fire killed 85 people and destroyed thousands of homes. Shortly thereafter, the ‘This Old House’ program dedicated a brief season to that community and helped rebuild one of the local residents’ homes. In one of the episodes of that short season, the show’s hosts carefully explained many simple steps that homeowners can take to dramatically reduce the likelihood of their homes being destroyed by a flash fire. Their advice included such things as closing in the eaves of the house so that sparks can’t get into the attic, installing fire resistant window glass and fire-retardant roof shingles, as well as not having wood structures or piles of firewood stored near the house, nor bushes grown against the house. Aerial footage of the Paradise, California community in the aftermath showed acres of homes destroyed, while well-protected homes right in the middle of the fire’s path remained intact. When I now look at some of the aerial footage of the communities devastated by this week’s fires in California, I can’t help but notice how many neighborhood trees survived while the surrounding homes were destroyed. When these batteries catch fire they have what's called "thermal runaway" where they will go from 140 degrees Fahrenheit to 6000 degrees Fahrenheit in just a few seconds. The smart meter is connected to the copper wiring of the home which is designed to travel electricity due to its conductivity. Along with being conductive, the copper wires are also great at heat transfer via convection. So when these supposed forest fires hit neighborhoods but burn more homes than trees, the culprit in the unusual fire forensics looks to be the lithium ion batteries. It's no wonder these homes are burned to dust while trees are standing within feet of the houses. These homes are burning from the inside out, literally. The copper wires in the homes are insulated and carrying extreme heat to every corner of the home..

LA County was sued by Judicial Watch in 2024 for failing to update the list of registered voters and REMOVE 1.5 Million unqualified voters.
That's just one county out of many here.
Before you say more, consider that California has been the testing ground for locked-in Democrat rule.....coming to a place you love soon.
California's population has risen by 2 million immigrants over the past 4 years -- and those are only the ones that were counted. Nobody knows how many were not.
My beloved state has been abused by the Democrat Machine for decades.

As people were fleeing, looters on scooters were rolling in. Facts.
One video clearly had the "looters" or a certain race swarming on scooters. ABC aired it not knowing the give away.
It's not looting if you need those big screens to feed your family.
God sees all, They will have to give an account one day
@@michaelpowell7120its sad in a way it’s my race doing that
XXI century, everybody is talking about high, advanced technology, robots, etc but they can’t taking care of place known for being dry weather with special infrastructure to bring water from the ocean in situations like that. Especially, California is next to the ocean. It is shame for of those who should taking care of that long time ago.
When the California Dreaming becomes the California Nighmare.
Good one…. Ur right. Narcissistic day dreams can’t defeat the reality of natures laws
So sad, my heart goes out to those who have lost so much, and the animals, just devastating! May all come together for strength and hope to begin again.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💕😔
Gavin should be kicking down some of that $24billion he laundered!
These reporters sound so happy and rambunctious about the devastating news.
This is just HORRIBLE
Pray for the people of California. Pray they get help from the incompetent leaders they have.
Not gonna pour salt on anyone's wound or offend anyone but I quickly clicked on the video without reading the title thinking it was Gaza then realized it's California, that's just like if the area was bombarded
Newsom should RESIGN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You first but forever

I guess these people have never heard of a " controlled burn " as routine maintenance. Every year this happens....
There is no money to be made in managing the forest. There is a lot of money to be made in rebuilding.
@@Really........ That's obvious but I'm talking about voters holding the scumbags accountable instead of listening to excuses. There's no money to rebuild anyway; there will be little to no payout because insurers are insolvent.
Prayers to God for CA. in Christ.
God bless all the firefighters that have risked their lives to help others ❤️🙏
Be careful how you vote, the home you save could be your own.
Voting does not work because they are all very good friends.
Time taken to vote might be better spent renting a movie.
How does someone's vote change 60mph winds? STOP MAKING THIS POLITICAL!
I'm so sorry for everyone that has been affected in this tragic situation. My heart hurts for you all.
The oil industry needs to be held accountable for climate warming.
And for deregulation efforts while knowing they would cause harm.
This has zero to do with climate warming.
You're so brainwashed. Big oil has been behind the environmental movement and green energy since the 1970's. It's not climate change. It's deliberate mismanagement, arson, and corruption that caused this.
yes blame "climate change", anything except your elected incompetent leadership.... You are beyond insane.
It is an absolute tragedy and I feel so bad for everyone effected. I am from Upstate NY and we have never experienced anything remotely close to the natural disasters that California faces. Growing up, I always wanted to move to California, as an adult, I am so glad and thankful to live where I do. I don't know why anyone would want to move out West. Its becoming more desert like with every decade and their water resources are spread extremely thin. Lake Ontario is 5 minutes away from my house and we will never have to worry about water.
What an awful sight. Poor people. Thousands homeless and no insurance. It will take years to recover. Many will move to other states. And who can blame them.
🔥 FIRE GRUSOM ❌
Vote blue no matter who isn’t working out so well
What is this smug attitude from you people making it about the party divide like you know jack about how this could have gone with some different slimeball
@ar_xiv poor management and incompetence from pretty much everyone in charge of California is to blame for this.
Not climate change.
People that don’t understand this are brainwashed ignorant fools.
Newsome and the mayor should resign and be criminally prosecuted for criminal negligence
Then how can you explain the problems in Texas during their disasters? Please elaborate
@@ar_xiv Enjoy your voting results.
@ar_xiv They allowed their fire hydrants to run dry…. Cope
It’s a bittersweet moment-returning home only to find everything reduced to ashes. My heart goes out to the families facing this unimaginable loss. Save a fish but destroy people’s lives. It’s the liberal way!
and it didn't even save the damn fish. just virtue signaling at it's finest.
Just like getting rid of plastic straws then turning around and giving drug users free plastic syringes with needles that litter the streets. They really saved the world with that one.😆
How much have you donated to the people who directly lost everything just now? You haven't donated enough because you're still here making this political.
@@FerventLotus It's overtly political, but what does that have to do with donating money? Why would donating money to those in need change someone's perspective about the cause of the incident? Why do you say the person is "still here"? Have you seen them before? Are you assuming that if they were on gofundme, they wouldn't be here indirectly tarnishing Bass and Newsome's names and upsetting people like you? Or are you implying that if we were busier helping each other, we wouldn't have time to figure out the cause of all of the despair in our lives? And ignoring causation is better for us little people and we should just take what we can get in this country? Because that kind of attitude really makes me feel sad and pitiful as a human being and I hope that isn't what you are implying.
There is no fish they are saving...it's all made up and fake!! The democrats want people to suffer so they turn to the government for help.
This governor of California and Mayor of Los Angeles should resign and hold criminally accountable for the deaths and misery they have caused in California!
Everybody keeps on thinking that their government is on their side, and that they would never #DEW anything to harm them really need to start broadening their ways of thinking.
Blue Lazor?
The government is made of humans. Humans need to evolve as a whole!
@@michaelpowell7120 Smart meters have lithium ion batteries.
I am so sorry for all the homeowners on your great loss. What a tragedy for them.
Now youre unhoused like the rest of us
I’m so sorry you are going through this. How can this be?
maybe they shouldn't have sold water rights off to 2 rich people

I am seeing so many comments here with people bringing in politics to the conversation. Please people, stop doing that. It does not matter whether you are a right winger or a left winger. What is more important to keep focused on, is that there are so many people out there in California who have lost everything. I wish I could do something financially to help these people, but unfortunately cannot do to our own financial struggles at the moment. So all I can do from here is pray for these people.
Actually you’re wrong, politics is why your city burned down.
They all have insurance and millions of dollars. They will end up losing some pictures. That is about it.
Correcting mistakes is a necessary conversation to have
I wish that I could agree with you, but the fact of the matter is that MORE people will suffer loss until/unless their voting habits change!
@@MarcelLaPorte4346 Stop with the politics! And, it's not my city. I live in the Atlanta Georgia area. What has happened to these people out there in California cannot be reversed via a childish blame game. I, being a conservative right winger, has nothing to do with my comments. It's all about compassion for humanity.
They should have to build with brick. Since
California burns every year, their building codes should be brick & mortar ONLY.
God is coming soon
Returning to what exactly? They have NOTHING LEFT!!! My heart breaks for these poor people! The children, elderly and sick, the animals! Prayers from Texas 😭😭😭
These images look so devastating and I can't imagine what it looks like to see everything gone in a instant. Im praying for them all to heal from the pain loss and devastating losses the fires have left behind.
They need to tell that billionaire that owns the water rights to release that water so this land can heal.
Per the democrats the little fish are what matters. The people of California caused this by wanting the gov't be their Daddy.
turn it back into wooded areas that collect rain water, calfornia government ruins a beautiful green state and made it a dry terrible place to live.
Too damp many people are the cause.
San Francisco suffered a devastating fire after the 1906 earthquake. In 1908 the city built hundreds of large underground storage tanks as a reliable supply of water when fire hydrants run dry. Due to environmental regulations it is not possible to implement that today.
Newsome has to go .
I'm sorry for everyone lost, BUT THIS'S SOMETHING THAT EVERYONE KNOWS IT WILL COME. But CA was not prepared and or don't want to be prepare for this, they spend billion in SH but not in the Fire hydrants system. Why the Fire hydrants system won't have water? Not Excuses . THIS WAS INTENSIONAL.
Kenneth fire? So they named it after the homeless person that lit it? 🧑🚒
No Kenneth works for the government 👍🏼
We are waiting to see what they are going to get . The same as the southern people who were devastated in the floods?

Charged for not forcing the country off fossil fuels?
I bet you also agreed with your orange leader that they should have raked the forest right? 😂
the new growth of nature will be gorgeous
I would absolutely hate to be the owner of a insurance company in these last days. If you plan on filing bankruptcy you might as well assume there is a death warrant on your head because Americans are forced to pay insurance for mortgages against their will and a customer that has always been on time with their bills expects the same respect back😡😡😡😡😡 Americans are extremely upset at the corruption in the government and insurance agencies who force Americans to pay up when it comes to their livelihood😡😡😡

By now you would think they would be using sound technology to fight fires. You can fight forest fire with bass sound waves. No different than Lahaina Hawaii. Seems pretty intentional to me. We'll see who gets to rebuild.
