The way Adam moves on the stage means that he enjoys the music even when singing it, because people don't dance like that usually. And that makes him unique and awesome!

My most favorite thing about Adam is that he writes his own music. Some people think that he doesn't be you csn tell that he does just by the lyrics. Every song has some sort of basic theme, sadness, love, religion, but Adam always adds his own little twist and makes it fun. And I never knew he was this good live! I can barley tell the difference between the live version and the other (not sure what to call it.) Recording?

Flaming Holosexual this is his project.. I mean it's his job now but he does almost everything by himself. As of recent, the studio that had Owl City (Universal) from what I heard forced him to work other writers for The Midsummer Station.. he somehow convinced them to let him go alone again for All Things Bright and Beautiful but a lot of people say it was a major train wreck. (I don't lol) but from what I'm hearing, he recently signed off of Universal and is working on being signed with another company.

I don't understand how anyone could think this is bad singing? Even if he is autotuned here (he is on his albums, which isn't a bad thing), music is not just about singing all the notes perfectly. It's about beautifully harmonic instruments, poetic and intelligent lyrics, and a melodious/catchy tune, all of which he has in his songs. He comes up with nearly all of it himself and gets a band for live performances. Adam is an absolute musical genius, regardless of what you think of his voice.
You, sometimes I wonder whether Adam's just a really cool, laid back person who sees all this wonder in the world, or if he just gets high and writes songs about it. I think the first one, because from what I've seen the ladder isn't likely, but either way I love it!! He's my favorite musician!
+Moonfire27 I think it's a little bit of both. Like, not high on drugs, but those with a sense of the surreal tend to be a little high on life. Plus, he suffers from insomnia, so he's bound to see the waking world as pretty abstract.
Adam Young is a cool, laid back person. He is not a person that takes drugs to write songs. He is a christian, he writes songs, because he likes doing it.
Adams' a Christian and doesn't drink/smoke/do drugs.

Garbanzo Sharx he uses auto tune in his music videos, but not in live or maybe a bit cuz you can have auto tune live but it sounds horrible. I listened to this guy who sang fire flies that used auto tune, my ears popped
The vast majority of music artists use auto-tune to some degree or another. It just helps with any pitch issues.
Josh Stirrat he kinda does and you can hear it in fireflies but damn he can perform live well

I'm sure they did freak out, but with these concert recordings they set it up in such a way (typically) where they can adjust the volume of the crowd. With some work you can record the music largely independently (even when that seems utterly impossible given how loud crowds can be).

I saw him in Columbus in July. The strings sound so magical I couldn't even wrap my head around it. He is a fabulous performer. Adam has been my favorite for a few years now and I really don't see that changing anytime soon.

I am big fan of Owl City and I have a dream to one day write meaningful music much like Adam, and earlier today I was thinking how these day's nobody my age cares about meaningful music. I thought about that for a long time, in fact I was literally about to give up my most valued dream (writing and preforming music) then I remembered this video and I'm still writing and hopping that I can make it big one day and forget about being so shy all the time.

I can however proudly say, that Owl City, is my favorite band, and always will be. Not just Adam, hes great, but so are Breanne, Daniel, Laura, Hannah, and Casey.

He uses autotune, but not because he needs it. He already has a great voice and is very talented. I think he said somewhere that he uses autotune to help his song have the effect he wants and to just improve it. For example in fireflies the autotune may help the song have more of the magical feel, but maybe that's just me. Hello Seattle is another big example. In some of his newer songs I don't think he is using it much.
