Awesome display and capture. Almost makes me want to stay up past my bedtime and try some timelapse. 🙂Come September, I'm doing Black Canyon. I am scouting some 4wheel drive roads in and around Montrose but if I have time, I may drive up to Independence Pass for a look see.
Yankee Boy Basin is the best one around there. It's out of Ouray, so a little bit away from Montrose. You also can go up Engineer Pass from there and access the Alpine Loop. I can't think of any really good 4x4 roads right by Montrose. There might be, but nothing comes to mind.
Welcome to you all the way from Germany! This was shot with the Nikon D850 and the Sigma 14mm f1.8 lens. For me it's the best Milky Way combo there is.
Beautiful and fantastic documentation of spectacular & unbelievable image of what nature provides us via your excellent work here, Jim!
Thank you so much! It's a beautiful world out there.
So amazingly beautiful and so cool!!
Thank you!
Lovely JIm. You really captured the milky way perfectly. Great location as well.
