Actually that drainage thing is fake and it’s how it’s built that makes it do that for that to actually work it would have to be a lot larger it’s the Coriolis Effect
I live in Australia, I work in a kitchen, water draining left or right is 100% how you throw the water in the sink. I could convince tourists that we are on the equator with this dumb trick. That guy is laughing his ass off at you.
Meanwhile, this guy is rubbing his hands at the ad revenue from all the people watching this video thinking he's being serious. Surefire way to get people commenting and watching on repeat.
People in the comments here got bamboozled tho. This is a viral strat. Make a boring video about the equator, nobody gives a fuck. Make a video saying some doo-doo brained shit about the equator, people will flood the comments to call you out. Make someone feel superior, even over the smallest shit, and you can get em to do more than they would otherwise. Or the guy's just dumb af, in which case I have some clouds to sell him.
@@wisp3591 this site was moved, it’s not even right on the equator and the earth is too large for it to make a difference which side of a line you’re on. The coriolis affects storms, but not something as small as a drain.
Fun fact, if you switch the two sinks they use to demonstrate this, the water will spin the opposite way you expect it, because at the equator the force is not strong enough to dictate the way it spins, so those two sinks are manufactured to force the whirlpool to go in the desirable direction
Just to add to what you said, the force is never strong enough to affect the way water spins unless you have a perfectly symmetrical surface with no imperfections.
To add more to this, you don’t even need a special drain but I’m sure it helps. The guy doing the demonstration turns one way or the other when placing the water over the drain and that’s enough force to affect which way the water spirals
I have installed hundreds maybe even a thousand kitchen and bathroom sinks ,vanities, and toilets. I can tell you they all spin in different directions. Toto toilets spin clockwise. Flushomatics spin counter clockwise. It had nothing to do with hemispheres.
Nope, the direction that water spins is a manifestation of centrifugal forces. It spins one way on the norhtern hemisphere and the other way on the southern hemisphere. If you try to make it spin the other way, by intitiating the spiral in the opposing direction, then you get opposing forces and the spiral will stop and reverse.
@@kayden4145 You are wrong, the centrifugal forces act in opposite directions on each side of the equator, this is what determines the direction of vortexes/funnels. If you try to manipulate it to spiral in the other direction the opposing forces will counter each other and no spiral will form. Unless that manipulating force is strong enough to override those forces, and remain consistently strong enough to do so (like in the case of a flushing toilet)
@@killmeister2271 The babies and young usually have them on. But as we mature it gets easier and people kinda disregard it. Think wearing a helmet on bikes.
Not to mention gravity wouldn't pull down more straightly at the equator. Gravity pulls down In weird directions all over the world due to different densities of the surrounding earth and different terrain like mountains and oceans. It's true that there is actually slightly less gravity at the equator but that wouldn't really cause the egg to tumble. If the eggs center of gravity is above the nail and the nail is level you can balance an egg anywhere. Higher gravity would just cause an imbalanced egg to fall down slightly faster.

lol. I remember these women pouring water in these sinks ... its just the way they pour it. one pours if from the right and the other pours on the left side lol. Duh. Physics.
The equator is whatever size you want it to be. The center of the line is technically the equator. Doesn’t matter if its 10 foot wide or a millimeter. Technically the equator line doesn’t have a size. You could make a line the size of 1 atom
You’re all idiots, the equator is just how we mark the halfway point on the map, and if the equator line was actually painted on the surface of the earth true to scale with how it appears on maps and the globe, then it would literally be like 20 miles wide. Equator or not, you’ll always fall in one direction. You can’t fall multiple ways.
You technically can you would just be in 2 pieces
For those wondering the equator is a "zone" that is 40 km wide, not just a thin line.
No, the equator is a mathematical line, it doesn’t take up any width
@@FlatEarthKiller BRO… you… you IDIOT, I AM a DEVOUT flerfbuster TOO. @@wisp3591 😂 no it’s not😂
Really I thought it was true. My bad I guess
Can confirm, I live in a country thats on the Equator. Every morning we wake up and adjust our balance so we don’t fall.

Lmao
We call that a split
Always fall one direction. You fall down. It's called gravity.
Yes hahahahaha
Gravity is an unproven theory
Nah I usually fall up. It’s a bad condition
Yeah yeah....gravity....
You can put an egg on a nail even if your not by the equator lol

Mathematically speaking, the equator is actually a line; thus it has NO “width”.
