So much is changing, but why, oh why, is the Bonnet / Hood Mounted Mercedes Benz Emblem disappearing from the view of the car driver & passengers, and being replaced with the Grille mounted Giant Sized Emblem?

Bin seit meiner Kindheit Mercedes-Fan, da mein Vater damals bereits einen Mercedes fuhr. Aber ich bin kein Fan des Designs des EQS, insbesondere die Front ist nicht wirklich meins. Erinnert mich an irgendeinen Japaner. Da muss mehr gehen!

Don't shoot me for writing all this but I spent all my life with computers but when it comes to cars I would use mechanical dials, laser HUD (eyes on road) screens for cameras, all needed functions to be one touch away on physical buttons and screen buttons that should be fixed as much as possible. If screen was of the shelf that would be even better. Car computer should be invisible for the user. GPS and all that should be casted from users phone on to cars screen and all software should run from phone with SDK for programmers to play with. I know there is a reason for everything being as it is. In 70s we were able to do anything with materials for the first time and had fashion and interior that today no one likes, everything was too much, we needed at least two decades before we started making home interior design look pleasant, without going through that phase we would never learn I guess. Also for some reason old cars from 50s and 60s leave an impression even if latest designs of more expensive models are amazing and eye-catching.

@@josephmccloskey5937 I agree that some more luxurious designs would look better with hood mounted emblem with a little modifications to the car design style. I'm sure they'll be back.

Hi Mercedes/ Daimler team, I think it's not true that you write on 1:11 in this video. The emission of a CO2 isn't 0 (zero), because electricity need to be produced and for charging of an electrical cars (sure, not only Mercedes) some of CO2 will be produced anyway.
Hi, thank you for your comment. The number used in the video is for CO2 emissions while travelling.
Your are right: the CO2-footprint of an electric vehicle is not 0g CO2. But in the WLTP-test procedure all electric vehicles are listed with 0g CO2 per 100km and since Mercedes-Benz tests their cars with this procedure, they also mention this number.

Dawn…. But not today for me. I rather have the S 450/580e so i can drive long distances on fuel and in the city on battery in an AWESOME looking car, instead of a EQS that looks like an EQE. Fast loaders are still not abundant as neither are home town fast loading options.

@@ClaireYunFarronXIII google "honda civic 2006 sedan". its an exact copy regarding the layout and sadly the charisma and presence.
the current design team at mercedes uses terms like "one bow design" or "sensual purity" to describe their design ambitions. the result is a lack of character or uniqueness. they just focus on reducing the car to a miniumum. wherever a line can be reduced they seem to want to reduce it. blending all sorts of unique typical characteristics into each other and ruining them each. the ugliest part of this specific car is the front. weak and timid, like some loser with his head hanging low. they emphasis those elements even more with the chrome part surrounding the windows being extended deep into the hood. then they make it worse by adding the panel gap going from a-pillar to wheel well.
i hate everything about the side too, no clue why the designer talks about a "sculpture", theres nothing really going on at all. its just flat and blant.
rear is lame too. nothing but round shapes, like some rock you'd find at the beach washed into the most generic form by the millennials. someome must have noticed that thats a bad design for the aero, so like a huge after thought, they just slapped a tearoff edge just on there.. ok.
but then they add all that lame clutter. the front plastic with the mercedes star looks cheap, the typical mercedes design aspects, like the lower air intakes seem out of place in the overall design. just a total clusterf*ck..
overall trash design. no character, no presence. except for its massive size. screams for attention, doesnt deserve any. which makes this car cringe.
the worst part is, they have just started.. (gordon wagner recently stated in some interview)
you might say, "thats your opinion", but i've talked to everyone i know about the new mercedes design language, since the EQC trainwreck came out. nobody i've ever talked to liked any of the new mercedes designs. theres also never any positive comments under any video about the design.
or look at any of the car reviews that came out about the EQS, everyone hates it.
@@ClaireYunFarronXIII there is nothing elegant or classy about it, it looks like an American Van from the 90s or a cheap Asian car, this is as far from Mercedes type as ever, they trying to be cool and progressive with their design, but they just lose their identity and soul atm.
