This ride gets a lot of flack for being too short or not exciting enough but its beautifully designed and the animatronic Shaman is probably Disney's best to date! 😊
Andrew Hughes yes i agree Andrew! The ride for me is relaxing, beautiful, and really immersive and that’s why I love it!
I'd still much rather go on this than Florida's versions of IASW and PotC. Those versions of the ride are nowhere near as good as their Paris counterparts.
This on the other hand, is a unique experience to WDW, and a good unique experience too, so IDK why it's getting this much hate.
It's also their most expensive, costing around 10 milli according to Tik tok

I agree, Andrew H. As I said in my official comment on this, I actually hate the movie 'Avatar,' but during a recent visit to Animal Kingdom, I found this ride to be very enjoyable (The only small hangup is that it stopped for a couple minutes and created a little logjam, but it was soon resolved, and it was in a peaceful enough area that I didn't really mind). You're right, the animatronic Shaman was a magnificent creation!
This ride is officially the best thing associated with 'Avatar' that I've ever experienced (Keeping in mind I skipped 'Flight of Passage' as its wait time was over 2 hours, so I can't comment on that)!
It's actually my favorite ride at Disney. I dig rides that made you feel entirely immersed this way. You could just relax and take in the scenery it presented!
This is one relaxing ride, the scenery, all those designs are beautiful! I wish I can go there until it’s all cleared, recording on that ride should be fine

I've never seen Avatar, but when I went on this ride with my stepmom 3 years ago, I was moved to tears on how beautiful and relaxing this ride was.
This ride actually makes me even more excited about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Think of how stunning the bayou will look after the facelift!
I’m expecting Splash Mountain with some new characters and scenes and some good Dixieland jazz. Hope it’s great
I did this ride finally! Yesterday. It was breathtaking. The song is still stuck in my head. I loved this ride. Hoping to do it again tomorrow when my significant other, and I go back to Animal Kingdom.

@@4KWDW My mom didn’t like it too much. Even though she went on it twice. I loved it both times. Especially the song towards the end. The only bad thing was. I had trouble getting out of the ride each time. But, one of the cast members at the exit had always lent me an arm. As they brought my power chair over to me.
I did get a ride-through video. I forgot at the end. We were stuck at the Shaman woman, for about five minutes. Because the boats were backed up at the loading area.
I didn’t mind because it was fun hearing her song over, and over.
Probably the most underrated thing in Disney World. I knew people would complain about it, but I was already intrigued and my suspicion was correct, the ride is FAR better in person than can be conveyed online. Idk whether it was the fatigue of the day or the relief of the hurricane being over the previous day, but doing this at the end of the night felt like a culmination of everything, like a real spiritual journey. The music is moving and the visuals are stunning and that's not even mentioning what is probably the best animatronic ever built to date. Small world doesn't have drops either and it's still a classic. This ride is like a Jungle Cruise/Small world of another planet (well moon). The cohesion of the land, and the hope for a greener future are portrayed in this wonderful display of life after destruction.
This ride is 100% an excuse for the entire team to show off all the new tech from the last 20 years and I love it.

My first time at Disney's Animal Kingdom. I really enjoyed Pandora(Flight of Passage, Navi River Journey). This ride(Navi River Journey) was beautiful and very relaxing. I recommend riding Flight of Passage before Navi River Journey because it can get you a like motion sick. This ride will make you feel better. Absolutely will come back and do this ride again.

It's just so beautiful it makes me want to cry
They simply let too many people into the park. Or better yet, don't have enough attractions to keep everyone busy. You have a park like Cedar Point with 75 rides and it spreads the lines out. And I know they make rides for familys but man, they should really have thrown something in there to mix it up. Maybe a switchtrack that spins the boats around backwards or a little 5 foot drop. I don't know. Just feels like a shame the time you wait and the money spent on the ride for a beautiful but boring ride. One and done.
DisneyWorld is made for children
First off, they do have a ride where you go backwards. The Frozen ever after. 2nd, there are 2 rides there that are above exciting: Tower Of Terror, Rock and Rollercoaster
@@mayascrew3172 I know that. Like I said though, that's just simply not enough. Not even remotely enough rides for the amount of people that want to visit and they allow in. I get they're goping for quality over quantity but...
I hated the movie 'Avatar,' but when I went to Animal Kingdom yesterday, I Felt like I should visit Pandora and do something there. 'Flight of Passage' was out of the question due to its >2 hour wait time, so I did 'River Journey,' and I must admit that, other than the ride briefly stopping and creating a log- jam for a couple minutes, it was a really nice ride!
The visuals looked good, the cool temperature was a relief from the 92- degree weather outside, it had a relaxing feel to it, the Shaman of Songs animatronic was honestly magnificent, and that pretty song will be in my head for quite a while.
I never thought I'd say this about something 'Avatar'- related, but well done!
The quality of the video its amazing. That ride its the most amazing AND relaxing trio of all the atractions of all Disney. The production design no the móviles AND that ride its the most beautiful of all. James Cameron truly would be blessrd

Not one for intense rides, but this looks kinda dull honestly.
Ya’ll want the truth….
You’ll wait in line for Avatar 3-4 hours but won’t regret it once you’re off. In fact, you might get back in line as soon as you exit!
You’ll equally wait in line 3-4 hours for this one but will regret it 1 minutes in.
This was a filler ride, meaning they spent so much money on Pandora and couldn’t just have one ride. They put 99% of their effort into Flight of Passage and 1% into this one.
Yep. They put all the effort for this ride into the one, single animatronic at the end and then just threw in a bunch of screens playing videos throughout the rest of the ride. Remember when Disney dark rides were guaranteed to have immersive animatronics throughout the entire ride telling a great story? Yeah, those days seem to be gone as all the newer dark rides are relying on TV screens to play videos as you move through the buildings with a very limited (maybe one or two at best) number of animatronics.
7:00 its amazing and beutiful, but also a bit creepy, its they way that she is moving plus thoose ling arms and legs.
I feel like this ride only works at night. Otherwise it's kinda jarring. I'd say this ride is on par with a more advanced and more visually stunning version of the Mexico ride at Epcot Rio/Fiesta whatever it's called now. But If you're like me and you like scenary and theming this is worth it. I'm a huge fan of immersion and that's my number one thing I look for in Disney level parks.
I want the shaman to be replaced with me. I am the king of reedy creek and it shall happen by June 1
One critique I have of this ride is the holograms I’m not a personal fan of them in any ride but in this one I’m sorry they just look really bad, I think they take away from the natural relaxing flow of the ride
Yes. I discussed this with my wife during our trip to Disney and we both agreed, a lot of the newer rides are using way too many screens and not enough tangible animatronics and physical structures. It's almost like the tech in these newer rides is going backwards. Disney dark rides used to be filled with animatronics (even if they only made a few movements) and physical things all around you, now a lot of the rides (especially the ones in Epcot) are all screens playing videos at every turn, which completely takes you out of the immersion of the ride. It's like you are moving through a themed building watching videos play on a screen. It takes away all the magic.
They need to revamp this ride with more animatronics and not just the one at the end.
I remember waiting 130 minutes to get on it and when I finally got on it and the ride was done, I said to myself “That’s it????”

Love the vid , was there in sept '17 and couldn't get on the flight of passage as the line was unbelievable , went in at rope drop and wondered why everyone was running by time i got there it was 4 hours waiting . So went on the river journey and was amased at how beautiful it was . By the time i came out the line was into the Africa section .

When I did this ride, I was very tired before then after I got off, I was very excited and extremely happy. My stims started going crazy. This ride made me happy. I even tried to get off to go walk around but my mom was holding me tight.
I wish I could be here! It’s my favorite ride! I literally dream about going on that ride!

Its so clever that they stuck in the run of notes from the end credits song. The music for the word "Atokirina" is the same note run in the end credits song, called "I See You", where the signer goes "I see me through your eyes"

so back in June my marching band and I went to Disney World, the day we went to Animal Kingdom nobody went on this ride besides me, they're saying that they were told it's not fun, but me being a huge Avatar fan, I went on it like three times
I am visiting Disney next week and when I go to animal Kingdom I am definitely going on that ride I have to have slow rides cuz I'm almost 61 years old that be a nice ride for me
i guess if you like avatar or just need a relaxing ride this would be great. other then that, i actually find it a tad creepy and it's not going to be very high on my must ride list
I was at Disney World, for my birthday in 2019. I can’t believe I missed this ride, and Flights of Passage. Even though on one of the days. I was at Animal Kingdom.
I’ll be going to Disney World again in a week, and I will make sure to do this ride. I’ll be going to Animal Kingdom on Tuesday with my family.
