Don Alan was my childhood hero. I even met him once when he was doing a gig at Nippersink. Unforgettable. He produced a bowling ball from under a hand-held pile of silks and worked out of a garbage can--everything he used in the act came out of that garbage can including the bowling ball. I've never seen anything better or funnier.
Just love this performance! It never gets old watching it.

Saw him perform/lecture at Fechter's in Buffalo years ago. He was such a seasoned ...real world performer.
the most professional close up magician ever.
Still one of my best inspiration. When magic was...magic.
How he does it with such large heavy objects is mind blowing. The bearing was wild, that giant nut truly amazing.
I love the way they look under the mat in the end....brilliant!
Best I’ve ever seen
nice for Don to announce the arrival of the final load of the chop cup by banging on the table
Simply the greatest magician of all-time. The number one creator of close-up magic and has been forever copied but not equalled.
Brian Gillis was highly influenced
Don is my Uncle’s father, not blood related. Unfortunate I was never able to meet this man! The look of astonishment on the kid’s face is priceless!!!
Smooooooooth as glass.
