Thanks for doing a story on Lex. I actually wrote the movie studio when this movie came out to thank them for casting Sanaa in that role. They wrote me back and said they'd received tons of letters stating the same. She rocked and should be back in the franchise

I was really disappointed that she didn't appear in the sequel. She would have been like a new version of Ripley from the Alien series.
i hate AVP Requiem. but i would have liked Lex to be in that movie. maybe as the first on-screen human predator. (not a hybrid just a human with predator gear)

I read that Sigourney Weaver was "persuaded" to do A3 or Fox would move on AVP since the video game was taking off. She demanded she get Exec. Prod. position (points) and Ripley would die at the end and finish off the character. Then A4 happened !@%*WTF!!!

She was such a cool character, she wasn't like really tough, she had fear but was brave at the sametime, that shot of her running alongside the Predator is hella funny, cheesy even but the rest of the movie showing her battling side-by-side with the Predator was really cool, it was a very satisfying twist i thought.
I'd love to see her return, atleast make a comic that concludes what happened to her.
Cheesy? That was the best part lol them jumping on the sled in unison, jumping together at the right time, I thought it conveyed how in sync they were and how much they put their trust in each other. I liked it a lot.

She's blooded, meaning that the Yaujta clan will definitely seek her a elite member to fight along side them against Xenomorphs in the near future, I candidly think she should come back in future canon flicks of Aliens and Predator genre. IMO, she's pretty hot too.
Well that's up to the movie company. Realistically she was likely killed off or contained due to interaction with the Yaujta Clan. More than likely Interrogated, tortured and then killed and then disposed of, due to being a security risk and her connection to the Predators. .

I'd like to see her again. And I like how she was subtly different from Ripley. Lex's defining feature was her survival. Her ability to stay composed occasionally to stoic levels and adapt to sudden events and hostile environments. She's sure to have some kind of emotional crash later, but I think given she's used to facing the extreme and unexpected by choice she'd have the ability to devote a life to fighting alongside predator's and becoming even more formidable. Ripley's defining feature was being a leader. She knew procedures but was not trained for the extreme or unexpected. She did well and learned, but was always the reluctant hero. She went into battle to protect and would not choose it as a lifestyle as I think Lex had potential to. Ripley had a pretty nice conclusion dying to protect others from the thing inside her, and I hope her clone had a nice conclusion adopting Cole as the daughter she's wanted since Newt and finding an alien free place to retire.

When people talk about the lack of strong female characters in film, I want to scream about Lex and Ripley. They’re two of the strongest people in any series.
Ripley is my favorite fictional character of all time. Lex should have gotten her own run in that role as a tough but human female lead. One thing that makes Ripley work is that she doesn't sacrifice the part of her that is feminine just to lead an action-based film. She's still supportive, motherly, even, afraid, but strong, assertive, and brave. And I saw that in Lex in how she related to Weyland and was insistent on keeping everyone safe, getting afraid, but willing to run at a doggone queen alien to stab her in the throat and save her new ally. She's a great character we need to see more of!
Sarah Connor in the Terminator series. She became a strong woman and a leader. Jamie Lee Curtis in True Lies, and of course....Halloween. There should be more women portrayed as strong people. Women are strong in their own way and sometimes stronger than men.
Ofc we want her back. Lex is the most interesting character of any Alien or Predator movie. I'm glad she turned down the reprisal in AvP2, the most horrid entry of the Alien/Predator saga, but it would be great to see her again! Get to da choppa'. Awesome vid 👍

I think she went on to live a life like Sarah Connor in Terminator. Became a prepper, always waiting for the day and the place when the Predators would return. Training with the spear, living off the grid, hoarding, becoming a tough, hardened loner.

Well... she's hot, badass and fought side by side with Scar. So she had kind of an "walked into the sunset" ending? That means they can pretty much do anything with her. Maybe she broke down and took drugs for the rest of her life to try to forget, maybe she was picked up by the predators and was trained like the other woman in the comics or she studied the technology and trained herself on earth.

Realistically she likely managed to survive the events and was eventually picked up by US special forces that had picked up the events of the pyramid. She was likely interrogated by a black op government group, and no doubt they learn about her receiving the mark of a predator then depending on her usefulness either was contained under government control, probed and tortured to reveal more information, brainwashed to erase her memory or more than likely terminated to avoid her being a security threat either in a government facility or dumped back in the ice to make it appear her death was a unfortunate victim of the failed Wayland expedition to the Antarctic whaling station. Unlike Dutch she is of no importance other than being a interesting note of Predator Alien interaction. Interestingly her experience with the Xenomorphs could prove some value especially after the incident of the town that was accidentally nuked by its own power plant due to improper safety procedures.. Again however its likely of little value to her life and realistically was terminated after interrogation and knowledge was extracted. .
This also goes for the survivors of the town. They were more than likely interrogated, the weapons they have confiscated, then terminated to avoid information of what happened in the town going public which is actually the right thing to do even if its morally wrong. The veteran likely would have been kept a little longer until she was no longer useful then terminated to avoid security issues.

Lex is the only human character that I really cared in both crappy AVP flicks, so it would be a nice easter egg to see some reference in the new Predator installment, or perhaps a direct connection but I think the the late option is absurd (as far as I know, the AVP are a separated universe from the Predator and Alien cannon).
Predator needs a Netflix series which could answer some of these questions and possibly bring back Dutch, Harrigan or Lex.
Predators should've at least take her with their ship into her home and not leave her in the cold Antarctica alone, as it seems predators aren't really gentleman xD

In the original Dark Horse Aliens Vs Predator comic, the equivalent 'Lex' character did end up joining the Predators. She boarded their ship.

She proved herself to be a quick study by Scar, as well as a warrior. The ancient predator elder even gave her respect and a weapon. She should come back again somehow in a predator film. 🌌 🚀 🎥
I love her character and it made me appreciate the franchise more. I wanted to know more about her and her place in the AVP universe. I even looked to see if she had a figure or other merchandise about her. Nothing out there from what I have seen. Would love more material about her.

Actually, I think I did see an miniature figure of her character in a set of Predator miniatures.

That a good question about lex wood,it great that the elder predator give lex a spear that will show in the predator in area 53. It would be cool for Sanaa Lathan make a cameo appearance as lex in the upcoming 4th predator movie.

Lex probably was probably investigated and not taken seriously just like Ripley in ALIENS. Until AVPR when the government as obvious proof. Shane Black film is a continuation of this canon. Lex isn't any Ripley but she's good. Better than Daniels and Shaw.
I also wonder why Shane Black decided to acknowledge AVP films. Is he aware of negative review on those films? Well I guess AVP is kinda defendable, but definitely not AVPR. Associating with AVPR will only ruin reputation.

Well i mean these days the Predator/ Alien franchise is still in limbo. People have mixed reactions about the newer installments like Predators 2010, Prometheus, and especially Covenant. Its pretty much no harm no foul and expanded the mythology.
AVPR is not like Age of Ultron, Thor: Dark World or Incredible Hulk. AVPR truly put nail in the coffin... Well not totally, but pretty close. The negative stigma from that film affected other films later on. "Oh new Predator film is related to AVPR? That? Ew~" Do you really think the studio will try to connect another AVP movie to previous two films?

This new Predator film has a minute and almsot teaser like reference. Nobody is sitting around like 'ew this is related to that' the general audience thinks these films are all connected anyways. So rather an implication was placed or not people still are going to believe is all one universe. Its no secret the franchise is in the runt. Pay attention to what i said.
I'd say she's on par with Daniels and Shaw as a bland Ripley knock off who is never shown to earn her strength and knowledge but is instead instantly strong and always right about everything right from the moment we meet her with little development going forward.
I hope we see Lex in a future Avp movie, or at least something to tie everything together. We need more AvP lore, and the first movie is the best place to pull inspiration from besides the individual Alien and Predator universes.
They're the same universe, different franchises.
I personally would love to see Sanaa Lathan reprise that role in some fashion. If they did a comic book adaptation and have her in a brief role where she tells the story and events after AVP, or give her a role as major character it would dope
I loved her character and would like to see her return in something canon.
she's a survivor,thats her forte which lead to her job as a guide..so no doubt she survive..we can see an active vehicles and probably more offscreen thus returning to the ship
From a story viewpoint, it could work either way. Survivors can create a "crew" or organisation of their own, or the government can recruit/debrief and gather up all artifacts at action sites. Either way can describe the reason for The Predator. In my opinion, having them (even as a mention) in-universe lends to further authenticity, but that is only my take on it.
I always saw her as a variation of Machiko Noguchi, who I hope becomes part of the movies. The best part of AVP was Lex and Scar; how he test her, how they communicated, how well they fought despite being so different. I can see her as a leader of a kind of Alpha team FOR the Yautja. Or even a group of humans that are honorary brothers like Danny Glover's character and humans who are willing to fight bad bloods, like Royce and Isabel.
I've always wanted to see if there was a way to get a movie with the mentorship we get from the book and integration of the culture. And an Alpha team of "warriors" who the predators respect with Lex as the head or second would be pretty damn cool even as a fanfiction.
@@anyoneandeveryone3014 you proud of that? You proud of what you just said? Lex was one if not the best part of the movie full of slow dialogue and shaky cam when we wanted to see good action. Her character is interesting and badass on her own. Lex is amazing in her own right. And compared to many other series, any and all strong yautja respected characters in the Predator Universe are pretty damn awesome. Machiko and Lex might be similar, but they can and should be separate characters. Lex reminded me of Machiko from the books. Down to the marking and subtle communication. I don't know if Machiko will be in the movies. But I'm very happy with Lex. If Machiko makes an appearance, Lex will still be one of my favorite characters.

I always hoped that AVP2 would've been about Lexa once again. Or at least that she would be a part of it. Because the Predator franchise has created such memorable and amazing characters that it was a shame they never follow through with those characters.
The Predator franchise is in dire need of an animation show, seeing a TV show would become too expensive especially if we took into account the Predator special effects required.
I mean we had Dutch, Mike, Lexa, Royce and Isabella. All characters that could've followed through to new movies but that simply fade into oblivion.
To this day, I'm confused by the direction they went in for AVP2. Once a movie in a franchise like Aliens or Predator includes kids or teens, I already know it's not going to go well. WHY did they put a WB teen drama in a Aliens/Predator movie? Who was that for? Why did they think we wanted to see small-town people? It's mind-boggling to me to this day!

Lex was a truly brave woman. You could see and almost feel her fear at times, but she did what she had to do to survive. She was also smart enough to realize that they needed to return the Predator's weapon so that it could fight the Zena morphs.
I like this movie I was hoping that there be a follow up of another movie with her in it.

I would love to see the three survivors in a movie. Even if the scen was just them in an interview room answering simular questions and giving their simular answers for a few minutes. It would give a nod to the previous movies.

Lex was a CLONE who made it back to the ship. Only to be surprised by the ORIGINAL people who were still training onboard for the mission. That would explain Charles Bishop Weyland who had mastered the art of cloning. Lex still keeps in touch with her twin sister.
It would be Very Nice if they Bring Her Back as a Supporting Character for the Possible Sequel to this years Predator perhaps bring in Danny Glover, Her, and Arnold for a debrief with the Survivor with this Predator and have them Compare Notes and then have another Predator Ship come in and Crash maybe with an Alien onboard and cause all sorts of Havoc! that could be a very cool movie if its DONE Right!!!

I was always disappointed that the ancient didnt turn back and take her hand, taking her aboard their ship and having her join the pack (similar to the comics).
I think what happened was that they fucked up and threw continuity out the window and released Requiem and fucked everything up even further.
She is perfect choice for this role...strong women and leader type as well...this made me re-watch the movie..in April 10th 2022

Alexa was the only character in the Alien and Predator movie run to bond with a Predator, survive the battle between two alien species in the freezing cold, and drive away with an interesting Alien gift. I'm just not sure what role Alexa the character should play.

Post credit scene: Some ancient predators decloaking after watching over the events of the film as they speak in their language we hear a voice much much different then the rough old tones these ancient creatures are speaking in much more feminine as lex woods decloaks and slowly walks forward taking off her brand new state of the art mask cut to black
It's either the extended version of AVP or it's in AVPR but in one of those there is a scene that shows her walking towards a desk with the spear on the desk in a stand with artifacts in a display case to the left.

The movie should state "to be continued..." at the end. The next movie should be that Lex was found, interrogated n brought to the site where the fallen 👽 Queen is located n they discovered the 👽 is frozen yet alive thus the Predator returns to finish the job by unleashing the 👽 Queen to do the final battle. That's where Lex would be the very 1st "She-Predator" by suiting up with the Predator's armour n weaponary n joining forces to finish of the 👽 Queen once n for all and leaving earth with the Predators and joining their ranks.

One thing I've come to appreciate watching it again today is how she relates to Weyland. To me, the best exchange in the film is when she says she's not going to let him die there and he says to her, "You didn't." The connection they made between her and him, reflective of her relationship with her father, gave her extra dimension in the way that Ripley was in fighting to save Newt. She was multidimensional: Experienced in the extreme, confident, smart, brave, assertive, but also afraid, supportive, and selfless.
It's such a waste they didn't continue with the character! What could have been... 😩
Yes, I liked Lex and her relationship with Weyland. I also liked that she wasn't a warrior type. She was in over her head in the film and made it out only due to her wits.
God I love the first AVP. Saw it as a young kid in theaters. Had a big impact on my formative years.

I ran into Jake Busey at a club when they were filming a lot of movies in this area. He was blending in and nobody really seemed to be recognizing him so I said “what up home fries” and when he smiled I was like YUP that’s him. 😂 Seemed like a chill down to earth dude.
From a Law Enforcement standpoint.
She was a known member of the Weyland team. When a expedition team led by a Billionaire goes missing, it’s safe to assume, the FBI, NSA, CIA, Armed Forces, INTERPOL and every Police Department in the country will be looking for her. If she managed to get back to civilization, she would be located, stopped, and immediately detained. Even Weylands Rivals would be looking for her also. If captured by the United States she would probably be sent to the same place Dutch was sent.
I would like her character to come back but then again, I would like her to be mentioned. She got away from the government, like Dutch. She hid the ancient spear and still has it. She isn't in the military, so she can lie, say she left the expedition after they got to the whaling station. When she was on the boat, she made it clear, she didn't think this expedition was safe and didn't want to go. Then maybe later, either she becomes one of the Predators human trainees. I don't think she would fight against them, when she fought with them and they didn't kill her at the end.

they should bring her back and make her the movie version of Machiko Noguchi. make it that the Predator Elder and her met up again after AVP and they trained her. now she hunts Xenomorphs and is kind of like the Mandalorian. with her being a highly effective hunter like The Predators themselves
I wish the producers would have picked up from where AVP left off. It's like they left "Lexi" behind to survive on her own. The scenes from the new predator movie trailer seem to have only small indications of what happened last time. (they) should have "tapped" Sana lathan, to reprise her character. The producers left_the AVP wide open for a sequel. I hate it when they do that & then don't follow through. However many a movie has been done that way.
AVP is not in the same continuity as this new film, and AVP takes place in modern times. The new Predator film takes place after Predator 1 and 2(?), so Lex would either be a baby or still would not have even been born when the events of the new film take place. So the events of AVP hasn't even occurred yet....
sanaa lathan aka lex is older then that . she would've been a teenager or in her twenties during predator 2.

There is a comic based on Lex. After the movie AVP she starts living alone and dedicates herself to hunt down any bad aliens. Although on one of her hunts she ends up meeting a squad of Predators. The Predators see her mark and realize its a mark of honor for killing the queen alien. She ends up going with the Predators and began hunting aliens alongside the Predators through different worlds. Although many Predators kinda descriminate her for being human, they even tried locking her up with another queen alien but she was badass enough to escape. She even learns their language throughout some years by an older Predator who tries to help her fit in within their ranks. Its an interesting story, although I would have kinda wanted it to be shown as a movie.
Another outta space battle with space marines would be cool too!!!
She drives off in the ice vehicle and comes across Mary Elizabeth Winstead's charactor from the Thing prequel, and they bond over being lingering plot threads that will never be tied up.
I think she should be given a part in the next or future movies. She did a damn good job in AVP.
They should have had her In the new Predator movie that just came out in September. We might see her soon. Love this movie! Makes me SCREAM!!!
When I first watched the movie, I literally thought Lex was related to Mike Harrigan since he and her both were the only people that earned respect from the Yautja and received a weapon from them.

I think she must've survived cause when she encountered the predator she was given a predator spear wich is something many humans would want to have so she couldn't live a normal life anymore so I'm guessing lex must've had some way of changing her life while surviving the events of Antarctica and I don't think scar is dead cause scar was stabbed in the stomach and predators do have a slight regeneration system so scar must've survived as well my best theory is scar and lex must've found some way of encountering each other and having another adventure
I think she should have been in requiem I think it would have made it better.

Sanaa Lathan REALLY owned the screen in AVP. I'd take her character over ALL the Alien female protagonists ANY day. It would be awesome if she was brought back in either a 3rd AVP or a sequel to Predators.
she escapes in the snowmobile, which then breaks down. close to death, she is rescued by norwegian scientists and taken back to their compound. only to find out she's in the same compound as 'the thing'. tie the two movies tohether with the 'predator' and that'll make one hell of a movie.
