My own mother couldn't even witness a years-old video of myself performing as a sword-swallower without heckling the bejeesus out of it- and all I could think of when I stood there, sheepishly by the screen was: "Thank heaven she wasn't there that night in real life, because she doubtlessly would have gotten me killed!"

instant laugh seeing the animation with the TV being turned off / channel changed with a tool, Shades of my childhood. A fork was a good all purpose tool for the TV.
Love you Hannah, from the first I heard your voice. Keep talking

It's possible that every person can be changed and healed through laughter and comedy.
Fan girling to the point of embarrassment. Love Hannah and her material.
Your brilliance has totally inspired me!! I just came across your material today for the first time and have been glued to if for the last few hours! After watching this one, my 160 IQ ADHB brain is spinning with genius dyslexic ideas, I've got a 100 funny stories running though my head. I cant believe I'm even thinking about stand up comedy, but I sooooo excited to try it after seeing this. I have a million silly funny stories, that have resulted from a lifetime of awesome ideas! I'll take your advice and practise on my mother first, that will be interesting - neither of us has ever been to a standup comedy before,, either I'm an accountant, and my mum is a strictly serious christian, - this could terrible when I put it like that! If I can make my mum laugh, the world's my oysters!
You should’ve kept that message for someone like Shoe0nHead (June Lapine) instead, then.
Key difference is that June has all those or similar properties of severe ADHD, and yet she is absolutely _hilarious_ in her act-more so than almost _any_ gen x or millennial woman comedian I’ve ever seen in my entire life, so far-whereas only the exact opposite can be said about this Aussie potato.
I think she’s lovely 🥺 Hannah is very pretty 💖
Hannah is so great
I love Hannah AND her mum! I saw Douglas live in Brighton and I swear there was a point when I thought "that's it, that's how I die: laughing - best death evaaaah!"
Hannah is a GENIUS!!!!!!!!!! I will watch every tiny little video she makes. This one was as hilarious as anything else she's done!!!!!!!!!!!
That was outstandingly funny. I am lucky having found this special model of a woman. Geeeez I peed my pants laughing! Made my day 😄
Love her soooo much. She is THE best.
I love this story. Everything about it is hilarious !! 🤣🤣🤣
I am glad your mom made you! 😁 I'm glad you made it past the horrifying set # 5, and we get to have a wonderful, wonderful feminist comedian.

I love this clip. Gadsby's mother reminds me so much of mine in so many ways. The 'naive' frankness is a killer.
This is like her mom’s “preposition” experience
Smart, insightful, witty, funny, quirky, authentic and insightful .. everything I appreciate in comedy.
Just not funny.
I have so much love for this woman
I love her. Very well spoken and hilarious.
I love it. Thus idea about owning who you are and who your mom is - I wish I was that mature.
I love her!!!
I do NOT know how you survived this set -lol. Omfg! I'm not a comedian but even I felt a bit sick as you went forward with this. Best to you, Hannah.
I just watched the new special and holy cow I love this human so very much

And now I understand the relationship between box and penguin!
Great story and well explained
Hannah, I love you and your straight up comedy. I have to watch you perform live someday. Please if you can come to Philadelphia PA in the states I believe you will be well received. You can decide if you want to bring your mum! 😂 I believe she too would be well received here!!!! 😂
I love her so much. She's so smart and funny and gay
Isabel A. I only agree with the third claim.
@@seanwebb605 yet you’re weirdly lurking through comments while watching this video??? Get some priorities and happiness
@@ciaa8387 It is weird to read the comments?
What a great story! And the storytelling ist marvellous 💜
I wish I knew you in person. Thank you for your sincerity.
BRAVO, Hannah! She gets more brilliant by the day.
One of her "jokes" is about the two ways you pronounce aluminum. This joke was made by my science teacher in 4th grade when learning the periodic table of elements. It was funny as a 4th grader so by proxy that's your mental age of comedy.
@@shortycr89 you just raged at a stranger on the internet over a joke they may or may not have heard. a joke about aluminum.
you need weed bro.
Not sure where the rage is coming from im just pointing it out.
@@shortycr89 it's up to you to find out where the rage is coming from.
Yeah i don't have any rage about it, I just dont find it good. For some reason you think having an opinion is rageful and you're attacking me for having one. You seem like a cool person to be around.
Love Hannah!
The colour of the suit is really nice, and really suits Hannah
Fair play to you for surviving a maternal visit to your one of your earliest comedy gigs! I think that whenever a person is attempting to forge their own path in the world creatively, family members tend to act as the ultimate kryptonite. (By which I mean that they have a tendency to act as a balloon-puncturing, painting-slashing, sculpture-sledgehammering negation force toward whatever fragile castle (or kayak) of creativity one may be attempting to construct.) My own mother couldn't even witness a years-old video of myself performing as a sword-swallower without heckling the bejeesus out of it- and all I could think of when I stood there, sheepishly by the screen was: "Thank heaven she wasn't there that night in real life, because she doubtlessly would have gotten me killed!"
I'd have liked to have watched that set.
She's funny af!! Probs got it from her Mom lol
Fuck wouldn't it have been great to be in the room and to see that happen
