KD's had more airtime when I rode both in the course of a few days in 2015, but maybe the bumpiness just launchedme up a bit :P KD Hurler is the bumpiest ride I've been on, so... yeah.
I rode this coaster in the 90’s and it’s the only coaster I ever got right back in line for. I rode it 3 times, I loved it. It was my favorite ride at the park. Guess I’m a weirdo, or maybe it was because I was like 14 or 15 years old.
that was old footage with an old camera that just didn't take the best video haha. Unfortunately I didn't take as much Hurler footage as I probably should've, so I had to bring in some old stuff.
Nice video. I rode Twisted Timbers for the first time this weekend and it is amazing. My last time at KD was when Hurler was there. It is sad to see an old ride close down, but this new ride is absolutely amazing and in my opinion the best ride in the park.
befor you go in the comments and say "KD made there announcement already" this was prerecorded and he probably couldn't get it out yesterday cause they discovered the grave stone last night
KKKillerkeemstar thank you, someone understands! This was made late last night and I had no idea Kings Dominion was going to come out with an announcement so soon.
The latest video posted on Facebook ends with rest in peace. ..for now. also something was mentioned about 2018 so it looks like we'll get an RMC conversion on hurler for sure as the new for 18 attraction. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what is going to happen with the ride especially any layout changes.
Hurler was dope, sucks it won't re open. If they did an rmc that would be cool though, would like to try one of those out. Damn a lot has changed in 5 years that I haven't really been following coasters
Nooo I always visit this place with my family and I always go on this ride, and I would always go on it and when it closed I was sad, but now I'm sadder that it will never reopen 😭
Kings dominion has announced on twitter that something will happen to hurler in 2018. It is most likely an RMC, but the video doesn't hint at RMC at all
I was at kings dominion today and there was a crane right next to hurler and all the track was gone and the marked wood but the other wood and some track a cart were still there your theroy was correct but what if they were makeing new ride or upgaded of the hurler
You sound young,, see, I was a kid as the hurler opened with Wayne an garth there.. It's nostalgia for most of us, probably your parent's etc.. who knows.
Eh, not too concerned. We still have the one at Carowinds, which from what I've heard is far smoother and more enjoyable. Plus there's some solid evidence that Hurler will be coming back as an RMC hybrid beyond just the markings on the footers. Thrill Central mentioned mentioned that there was a pile of I-Box track near the coaster. This is similar to how an RMC-marked utility truck was spotted near Mean Streak. So, basically, unless plans change last minute, both Mean Streak and KD Hurler are getting the RMC treatment.
Buddy it’s now 2019 it’s been open for a while......but today I went on it it got stuck right when it was just about to go down the hill and seat belts unbuckled and it just went like nothing happened but it was kinda fun
I wouldn't be too sure about that, I think if the gravestone is none-fabricated then the gravestone itself is just another element for Kings Dominion's Halloween Haunt. I don't think that Hurler would be closing at all.
That is fabrication, no official Kings Dominion personnel has EXPLICITLY confirmed anything regarding the operations of Hurler. The last thing that was confirmed, however, by a KD personnel was that Hurler would be closing for the 2016 season and will reopen for the 2017 season. Everything else is strictly speculation and rumors. If KD did confirm this, then where is the evidence? I haven't heard or found anything about Hurler closing permanently from any official personnel.
Awe, I see it now. So it makes sense that the manufacturer be RMC due to the direct correlation to Cedar Point's Mean Streak. I have seen footage and depictions of RMC construction trucks and i-box track near Mean Streak. Since KD is under the same umbrella in reference to Cedar Fair, then it would make sense that there be a RMC conversion, but that doesn't completely count out the odds of a GCI conversion either. I think CP Mean Streak is 99% confirmed for a RMC conversion, but Hurler would be more like a 60% for a RMC conversion. I say this because most of the new projects are done at Cedar Point, even you say this in your video content, and afterwards is replicated via the chain parks.
Principia Mathematica The reason why I don't think a GCI refurb is possible is because if it were GCI there wouldn't be a grave and they wouldn't retire the name. They'd basically just be retracking it. Notice how Knott's did it with Ghostrider, as opposed to how Cedar Point did it with Mean Streak. Kings Dominion is following the pattern that Cedar Point took, which makes me think we can expect RMC Hurler at this point. I'd go as far as saying there's a 95% chance of it being an RMC project.
It's closed?!?! I don't like roller coasters but I have rode the hurler with my family but not shockwave but I used to watch my family ride it it's gonna be weird not seeing that ride
If you think about it this way hurler technically didn't really close It got transformed into an RMC hybrid and got known as twisted timbers so it really didn't close but it got an Upgrade so to say
I'd say RMC Mean Streak for 2017, even though Cedar Point has yet to make it official.. hopefully RMC Hurler for King's Dominion in 2018. As for future RMC coasters for Cedar Fair parks... Knott's Berry Farm would likely get T-Rex, if not topper track custom, and no telling if KBF is mulling over removing an attraction (like their Schwarzkopf shuttle loop or Vekoma boomerang, or something else) or if the park can get creative in some way... Carowinds get RMC Hurler, if not a topper track or T-Rex. Not sure about Worlds of Fun and Valleyfair at the moment. King's Island is heavily rumored for a giga-coaster, but no telling whether it'd be a B&M, or RMC T-Rex, or a different company... but the next KI coaster will likely be several years away. Six Flags not doing RMC coasters in 2017... I still see SFOG eventually getting RMC Georgia Cyclone (since Justice League is 2017 project, hopefully and maybe 2018 could be its year... fingers crossed). Other RMC projects, we're still waiting for Silverwood to officially announce their T-Rex coaster. Hopefully more parks are exploring adding RMC coasters.
Perhaps if hurler north is a successful renovation they'll do the same for hurler south in the future? much like how cga is renovating vortex for 17 while Carowinds is not.
GigaG11 difference is that TC was started in August and MeanStreak was started in October and it doesn't seem like they are in any sort of rush to finish it either
I won't miss the bruises I got from that ride. But what I do miss is the Wayne's World theme from back in the Paramount days. I remember when they opened that entire area. Once Paramount sold their rights to the park, I never cared much for The Hurler after that.
Cedar point made there announcement for 2017 no RMCs but in Taylor's 5 year plan he said that mean streak will close...that is correct but he said science 2020 is cedar point's 150th anniversary he predicted something huge like a RMC mean streak. So they might wait till 2020 to do something with mean streak
think about it. I think they want kings island to be the park with the most wooden coasters, b/c right now it is tied with KD. (Rebel Yell, Grizzly, Hurler, Woodstock- Beast, Timbers, Racer, Woodstock) So, they might RMC hurler so KD would be less by 1 wooden coaster, and KI would have the most wooden. What do you think Taylor?
I don't think that has to do with it at all. You still have Six Flags Great America as a major competitor for most wooden coasters. I'm convinced whatever's going on with Hurler has nothing to do with Kings Island.
RMC is making it late to the party for 2017 and early for 2018 it seems. My moneys on 2017 for Mean Streak bases on the extensive work thats already happened and along with the arrival of track to CP on the MS lot
Twisted timbers is AWESOME!!
OBXTarheel91 IKR THE AIRTIME HILLS ESPECIALLY!!! But the lift hill is loud as heck
@@ethanplayz2718 yeah it kinda hurts your ears
Kings Dominion posted a teaser that said "closed, for now... 2018"
Leo Newt yes I know, this video was made before the video was released
New for 2018.... Super Hurler
Wait what?!
Wait what? so my happiness hasn't ended, HORAY! I LOVE IT ALREADY!
It's Happening RMC is Finally Working With Cedar Fair Mean Streak First Then Hurler
Its identical twin is available at Carowinds though. If you want to ride it, you can at Carowinds.
KD's had more airtime when I rode both in the course of a few days in 2015, but maybe the bumpiness just launchedme up a bit :P
KD Hurler is the bumpiest ride I've been on, so... yeah.
The carowinds hurler is a lot worse though. It's smoother but has no airtime.
Kentucky Kingdom also have one just like it but better and smoother!
Not sure I would call a "smoother" wooden coaster "a lot worse." There's a reason almost no one rides these coasters.
+Joseph DiSalvo Idk. It's extremely boring.
I rode this coaster in the 90’s and it’s the only coaster I ever got right back in line for. I rode it 3 times, I loved it. It was my favorite ride at the park. Guess I’m a weirdo, or maybe it was because I was like 14 or 15 years old.
Anyone watching now in 2018? Geez it’s freaky how accurate he was lol 😂 He was 100% on the dot on everything. Excellent predictions.
I get this.
1:57 Why is it glitching? I see why it wasn't safe lol
that was old footage with an old camera that just didn't take the best video haha. Unfortunately I didn't take as much Hurler footage as I probably should've, so I had to bring in some old stuff.
This ride brought so much pain to my back and, due to the quality of the video, now my eyes
hey Taylor I got an idea for a Coaster Fight The Racer Vs Rebel Yell
It’s the camera not the ride
😂😂😂😂😂😂
It's opening in 2018 with metal tracks
Smart observation. You were right. It's still a coaster but reconstructed into Twisted Timber.
There was a video posted by KD on their Facebook and Instagram basically confirming an RMC! Great video, by the way. ;)
The thought of two brand new RMC's within the next couple of years at Cedar Fair parks is beyond exciting!
Nice video. I rode Twisted Timbers for the first time this weekend and it is amazing. My last time at KD was when Hurler was there. It is sad to see an old ride close down, but this new ride is absolutely amazing and in my opinion the best ride in the park.
Twisted Timbers is the new opening and I went on it and it's awesome!
befor you go in the comments and say "KD made there announcement already" this was prerecorded and he probably couldn't get it out yesterday cause they discovered the grave stone last night
KKKillerkeemstar thank you, someone understands! This was made late last night and I had no idea Kings Dominion was going to come out with an announcement so soon.
Coaster Studios do you want any construction update footage of meanstreak
KKKillerkeemstar Sure, any deconstruction shots you can take and footage of the rails and cross beams would be great.
Coaster Studios ok when I go this next weekend I'll film and send some in
watch KD get another Planet Snoopy expansion for 2018.
Camp Snoopy*
YTStaffComeAtMe Planet Snoopy
Tyler Smith Hurler's too far from Planet Snoopy, if they put kiddie rides there it'd obviously be Camp Snoopy!
YTStaffComeAtMe haha true
Wrong
I loved the hurler. It has sentimental value. But I love twisted timbers. It’s a bonus.
Last I heard from a friend this morning was that an RMC crane is now on site behind hurler. he provided a link to a photo of it as well.
I wanted to do the ride, I never got a chance and now my happiness has ended, for real guys
Rip Jasmine's happiness, 2006-2016
I always loved Kings Dominion. I have been there
A lot.
The latest video posted on Facebook ends with rest in peace. ..for now. also something was mentioned about 2018 so it looks like we'll get an RMC conversion on hurler for sure as the new for 18 attraction. Hurler was dope, sucks it won't re open. If they did an rmc that would be cool though, would like to try one of those out. Damn a lot has changed in 5 years that I haven't really been following coasters
The video says "For Now" and then "2018" which means theres probably gonna be a name change along with RMC
i'm gonna look for the Hurler grave stone tomorrow at Halloween Haunt lmao
The layout for this rmc looks great!
Nooo I always visit this place with my family and I always go on this ride, and I would always go on it and when it closed I was sad, but now I'm sadder that it will never reopen 😭
Kings dominion has announced on twitter that something will happen to hurler in 2018. It is most likely an RMC, but the video doesn't hint at RMC at all
This caught me off guard. I was so not expecting this. Wow I want to skip 2017 because 2018 will be big for every park!
Josh will probably lose the plans for it...
7th Day Productions lol
well i was there yesterday and yes they did remove wood going down the hill.
I was at kings dominion today and there was a crane right next to hurler and all the track was gone and the marked wood but the other wood and some track a cart were still there your theroy was correct but what if they were makeing new ride or upgaded of the hurler
and i hope you know this is one of the old ride DUHH and i love Hurler its awesome
You sound young,, see, I was a kid as the hurler opened with Wayne an garth there..
It's nostalgia for most of us, probably your parent's etc.. who knows.
You are mistaken, the work to make it a RMC upgrade has started ! Yaaaaaaaaaaa
Remember (* THE GRIZZLIE *).. THANKS MAN, FOR DOING THIS NOSTALGIC RETROSPECTIVELY DRIEVN VIDEO!! NICELY DONE
Eh, not too concerned. We still have the one at Carowinds, which from what I've heard is far smoother and more enjoyable.

I’ve rode hurler Carrowinds and not at KD, but I don’t think I missed much if the coaster and just the coaster alone is lagging on the screen.
Man you nailed that prediction. Wow.
was at kings dominion few days ago. Hurler was being taken apart
Good theory video! I saw the video on KD's Twitter page! :)
Hurler is also at Carawinds if you want to ride it , its the same thing
Even if hurler were glass smooth it's layout leaves a lot to be desired.
From what I've been told, they are going to make it like a hybrid type coaster. Like the one Busch is getting.
Buddy it’s now 2019 it’s been open for a while......but today I went on it it got stuck right when it was just about to go down the hill and seat belts unbuckled and it just went like nothing happened but it was kinda fun
Gatcha Scarlet K

Principia Mathematica You want proof? How about this: facebook.com/kingsdominionva/videos/10153796391506875/

That grave gives me the chills.. whoa it scares me.... it just looks weird..
Are you gonna make a video about the rmc track at mean streak
My friend one day told me that she saw the Hurler half way taken down i was shocked.
I went in May and it said coming soon new and improved 2018
Taylor the great prognosticator
If you think about it this way hurler technically didn't really close It got transformed into an RMC hybrid and got known as twisted timbers so it really didn't close but it got an Upgrade so to say
Hurler is now twisted Timbers basically so it got renamed and placed as a RMC
2018 is already gonna be 4x better than next year
2018 already seems like a huge year, and we haven't even gotten through the very quiet 2017 yet.
And now it is the best ride at the park
Taylor do you think I'm lucky because my home park is Blackpool pleasure beach
hey coaster studios!!!!
atleast there's hurler at carowinds. it looks just like it.
Because it's the same ride
And there is also Thunder run At Kentucky kingdom
Aaron LeBlanc the hurler at caro is ten times smoother.I actually really enjoyed it
Stokes The Red Panda I like it too but rn it's an underdog to most other coasters. except the Carolina cyclone and cobra. way too much head banging.
I'm at cedar point now and there is RMC track at mean streak. RMC confirmed for sure.
And 3 years later vengeance was wrought.. steel vengeance
I have seen it I was there last weekend.... .
Looked fun, like mean streak
I'm CRYING AS I never been on that great Coaster and will be their 2017 - not 18 (same with C.P.)
Should’ve gotten rid of annaconda first.
I agree
The anaconda should get fixed it's a good ride but it's nothing wrong with it that much
Pet Paradise yes
Great video!
They are putting a new one I roller coaster I saw that it was almost built
Yay hopefully we will get a new ride
Rmc topper track was seen at mean streak earlier this week
Mark Does Airsoft --- I-Box
XBCPG oh I figured it was topper because of the color
I'd say RMC Mean Streak for 2017, even though Cedar Point has yet to make it official.. hopefully RMC Hurler for King's Dominion in 2018. As for future RMC coasters for Cedar Fair parks... Knott's Berry Farm would likely get T-Rex, if not topper track custom, and no telling if KBF is mulling over removing an attraction (like their Schwarzkopf shuttle loop or Vekoma boomerang, or something else) or if the park can get creative in some way... I am sad I only rode it once or three times in 2015 😭
4:07 You called it first, good job
How did you remember your last ride on shock wave wasn't your memory deleted
knoebels does the same thing with the orange things they are doing it with twister right now
I agree with what you are saying.
RMC almost certainly, probably 2017 mean streak 2018 hurler
also mean streak will most likely be 2017, track has already been spotted.
They still have a lot of track to remove on Mean Streak. That's a long coaster.
+Sam17 both mean streak and hurler will reopen in 18, don't forget mean streak is a much bigger ride and will take quite a while to fully renovate.
Twisted Colossus had similar length and a lot of structural dismantlement. It could be done in one year.
GigaG11 difference is that TC was started in August and MeanStreak was started in October and it doesn't seem like they are in any sort of rush to finish it either
Twisted Timbers is one of the best roller coasters ever!!
I got to ride it in 2016 with my friend.
And I love the hurler
We haven't gotten a mean streak announcement tho but that pretty much confirmed
He should make a planet coaster series
Personally, I think Grizzly would make a better RMC, but I am absolutely onboard with an RMC Hurler!
It’s called twisted timbers now
That the roller coaster that I was wondering about why dose it have no people going in it and it is broken
I won't miss the bruises I got from that ride. But what I do miss is the Wayne's World theme from back in the Paramount days. I remember when they opened that entire area. Once Paramount sold their rights to the park, I never cared much for The Hurler after that.
yeah there is a new hyper coaster replacing hurler i think its called layout
Cedar point made there announcement for 2017 no RMCs but in Taylor's 5 year plan he said that mean streak will close...that is correct but he said science 2020 is cedar point's 150th anniversary he predicted something huge like a RMC mean streak. So they might wait till 2020 to do something with mean streak
Margie Nowlin probably RMC next year, and 2020 something else
Margie Nowlin I predict that Mean streak will open in 2018 and they will get a b&m flyer in the place where cedar creek mine ride is in 2020
think about it. The grave pictures creep me out and idk why
I...am now p i s s e d 😭😭😭 I grew up on that rollercoaster- It was the best!!!!! 😢😢
Do you think the new hurler will be able to compete with new mean streak.
YAAAAAAAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO RMC BANDWAGON BOYS
yes is did I went yesterday it been opend
Ibox track is at Cedar Point.
by the way. in the past decade KD has added both I305 and Dominator. not just I305
By past decade I was referring to 2010 onward. I realize I didn't make that clear; what I should've said was THIS decade.
It is now called twisted timbers
RMC is making it late to the party for 2017 and early for 2018 it seems. My moneys on 2017 for Mean Streak bases on the extensive work thats already happened and along with the arrival of track to CP on the MS lot
What if KD just wanted to replace the old track with topper track to make it smoother?
Wow I rode it in 2015
I was there!!!!!!
It is now a hybrid called twisted timbers
yes, I am aware. This is an old video. You can check out my full review of Twisted Timbers here: th-cam.com/video/tiucZ8ZF1gQ/w-d-xo.html
who else is watching this after the rmc track showed up
its being repaired I seen new wood on the ride.
It's a shame. I liked it even though it was abit painfull.
There’s really more coming (8
