Hello Tan, while there are several more experimental catamarans that try to run exclusively off solar energy, there has not been any technology being used by the major production catamaran manufacturers. The main issue is the that solar energy can only charge batteries at a certain slow speed to avoid too much heat, while electric motors demand a lot of energy. The solar can not keep up charge with the output over long distances without a very large amount of batteries, charge controllers, etc. which adds weight to the boat and slows down performance. There is still a lot to prove with the technology.
