I've never made a rant out of the Mario movie,so here it is: Mario's voice actor:Everyone has a problem with Mario not being voiced by Charles Martinet. But,why? Sonic had a different voice actor (I think),so why can't Mario,too? And everyone is scared what will Mario sound like,but,guess what? Well,you Illumination haters,originaly,Nintendo planed a Mario movie to be from Paramount Studios,but it was cancelled. And even if Nintendo worked with Disney,it would still be good no matter what. A delay due to Sonic:Oh,great. Here we with the delay. NO,it wasn't delayed due to Sonic Movie 2,it was due to animation,sound effects,script writing,voices and much more. So,there it is. Yeah, if there's little to no action in the movie and just plain cringe worthy, childish dumb humor in it then I'm not watching it and lost hope for Nintendo's future films.
The fact that it'll be a musical is sort of a turn off for me. But I'll still probably watch it on-demand someday for free,if they ever have it available. Would've been great if they picked an actual Italian actors to portray Mario. But I guess a Norwegian one works just as well. It's kinda the same situation when they casted Noah Ringer to play Aang. Right along with casting Justin Chatwin to play Goku. Honestly I could careless when it comes to the the ethnicity of the actor. As long as they give me a good performance the person could be rainbow. I don't care just spill your all into the character that your playing and I'm sold. Your skin color is the least of my concerns. However it just sort of reminds me of the days,in which people actually glorified the "art" of black face. Having characters whitewashed in order to please whoever's in control of the project,kinda puts me in a mind of those days. Only they changed it into portraying other ethnicities. Let me tell you something. Charls Martinets Mario voice is not good for a whole movie but only works for short words like catchphrases. His voice would get literally and utterly annoying after hours and hours of listening to it. No disrespect to Charles he is a wonderful guy he's one of the sweetest human beings on the planet, but I have to tell the truth. Thats one of the reasons why he wasn't casted as Mario Shigure Miyamoto said that Mario is going to be talking a lot in this movie, so they picked someone else, out of all people they chose Chris Pratt, I'm not feeling it neither but that's just who they chose. I want Mario to sound more like the old 80s cartoons when he had a Brooklyn voice and if you ask me, it fit Mario more than Charls voice. Charles voice is not meant to be used in full sentences only short phrases and before you say hes done full dialogue with Mario before. Yes! I already know that, and I don't like to disrespect or offend people but when Mario gets to talking for like 5 minutes or more, he sounds ridiculous and sounds like there's something wrong with him. Yes, I'm going to say it his voice sounds awful and would have people plugging their ears the whole movie. Anyway, cool video keep it up.
Good point, It's more the fact that Chris Pratt gave a fake wishing well story that made me make the vid and I haven't heard Charles Martinet side of the story on if he was approached or not. You're 100% right. Plus Chris Pratt has done voice acting before, we know how it sounds, and probably did the executives at Nintendo too. It's not like he's just a "big name", he's an experienced actor, and had enough portfolio to show. I love Martinet's work, but let's be real, his portrayal of Mario was done thinking of a videogame character with barely any lines, that's very different from a movie character. Let's say there's a scene in the Movie where Mario is sad and losing hope for example, then the high pitched italian caricature won't work, he's gotta sound more like an ordinary person. "But he could tone down the accent and sound more like himself, right?" Well, in that case, Charles would sound like a man in his age, and Mario is supposed to be in his 20s, so that would be kinda weird too...

Anyway, Charles is a voice actor so yes, he could easily change Marios voice he doesn't have to use his regular voice that's the whole point of voice acting you make up a voice for the character so he wouldn't use his regular voice just like Chriss Pratt is not going to use his real voice he's going to make up a new voice.
