i totally agree with closing statement. I too wish that this new twin engine is reliable and trouble free as compared to the other engines. It will set a new Standard n a Benchmark for an Indian manufacturer.
Interesting bikes. Yes, RE have had some quality issues, but they are not the only ones. I've got a Triumph 955 Daytona and an RE Twin (1960). The RE is a great bike for that time. The Triumph is a fun bike but not an everyday one. I hope that with the input from the UK design office and pushing quality, these two bike will be very successful. The big problem with most bikes today is that they are too big and bulky, and have much more power than you need. A 650 twin at a reasonable weight and which you can throw about through corners. Sounds like a winning recipe to me, and they look like classic bikes too!
Good luck with these RE, you've put a lot of effort in
Exactly my feelings diverjohn4. I've been wanting a Hinckley Bonnie for sometime but it's just too heavy and slightly ugly in current form and the Street Twin doesn't do it for me. This could be a winner in the UK for old farts like me but reliability has to be proven. Price point seems to be around 6K which is very good.
I hope these two bikes wouldn't end up like a vibrating dildo like the classic.
Johny Samuel Man it's the classic, it's retro, even the engine, and that's by design. Royal Enfield has retained the long stroke engine, for people who want to enjoy the classic.
😅😅
I don't even want to say anything but I really hope you are eating your words now
I don't have any issues with my TBTS 350. Maybe I am a lucky guy. I love RE and I had a dream from my childhood that I will own one. And that is why I bought the motorcycle. And now looking at these bikes I am thinking of getting the interceptor. Hope they'll make TBTS 650 too.
Hrishikesh Dutta it is hardly possible that they will ever put this engine on Thunderbird.
Becouse it is techNically not possible they have to redesign fb from scratch.
I bet you will love interceptor just give it a chance take a long test ride when it will get launched.
Nityanand Saswade I am thinking of that. I will take it to a ride someday for sure.
Thunderbird 350x and 500x launched... That means TB 650 is off the table... Amaro parallel twin engine use kora hobena..but as far I know..in USA they will sell it for 4.4 lakh approximately
Pirelli tyres and abs... Totally worth buying.... RE gonna kill them all... Interceptor 650 is the must return rocking legend of its time...
I wish they could have used tyres with bigger wheelbase.!! But hey the 650cc engine overpowers everthing else. I hope these get launched soon, can't wait to get grip on them
Thanks for making this video man, this has covered everything I wanted to know. God Bless You!
Our pleasure
Interceptor 650 looks stunning
the Continental GT650 is absolutely stunning! 👍👍👍🏁
inkitatus1 the sitting position like ducati classic sport
Looks much cooler and traditional than the new triumphs
Hai Amit bhai greetings from kerala , I met your dad D K sir today in a train journey to kollam. He such an inspiring person.
All the best for your Hardwork...
And lots of love from kerala💝💝💝
All the best for your
Thanks for your love and wishes. :-)
This is the best coverage I've seen yet on the new RE. Now I'd love to see a Street Twin / Interceptor comparison video.
+J Boy will do that once the bikes are launched
Yeah and add the Street Cup vs Continental GT.
I don't like RE in India
But I wish RE rocks the international markets with these. Come on RE it's game on!
Great video Motor Beam, really informative. Double thumbs up.
Astral Child we're MOTOROIDS, btw. Thanks for the compliment
I am from Chennai (where the re manufacturing plant is located)
As for those of yu concerned with the reliability of the bike .i can be damn sure that this engine will be more reliable than any other. Due to the fact that i am seeing these bikes being tested daily on road which i have never seen in the case of Himalayan.
And these two bikes are being tested so much that they wer even being driven in the water flooded roads of chennai.
Yes RE is not lazy anymore . They do care for their customers.
Many stated that their "built from scratch" engine in the Himalayan was not up to the mark but it is clearly seen that the engine was not tested well.
But in this case which is also a "built from scratch" engine . ,they are really testing the bikes so hard. This will be a definite hit for the RE
peace
Since 1901 RE is the king of the Indian roads
I have a Suzuki C50 v-twin bagger, a Suzuki S50 v-twin, a Yamaha R3. But I wanted an everyday light maneuverable just plain fun bike so I started looking. It came down to the Royal Enfield Continental GT or the Yamaha SR400. I bought the Yamaha SR400, it was quicker, more maneuverable and reliable. The kick start is so easy I don't even miss the electric starter. Just my preference.
Can't wait to test ride the Interceptor.
We cannot either
1,I think 17 inch wheels suitable .2, engine head to petrol tank clearance increase to avoide fire accident 3.improve seating position in int version .4 radiator must .
Thanks for your inputs buddy
we'll have to see how they really compete with all the big boys that makes classic bikes, lots of competition for RE.
I like them. The ONLY question is reliability & warranties.
Till now royal Enfield was a perfect machine to convert petrol into sound and vibration... Dont know whether these parallel twin brothers gonna change that image....
Deep Banerjee I think that you are an RE owner like me.
I think they've smoothed out those vibes, if they haven't remedied the dreadful bone-shakiness experienced by owners of the 500 , the larger twins just won't sell.
15kmpl mileage
35 mileage of bullet is low according to u ??
It is much better than apache's vibrations. Himalyan and continental gt have a lot lesser vibrations. What you are complaining about is a problem mostly with classic and bullet.
Royal Enfield has no other claim to fame other than being the oldest motorcycle manufacturer.
Just can't wait to see them.
EXCEPT for the parallel twin engines concept ntg much fascinated me about this INTERCEPTOR !
Yamaha should Reintroduce RD 350 with 4stroke parallel twin engines! 😍😍😍😍😍
[oil cooler,dual Carb's unlike Fuel injector's & Liquid cooling]
FI & LIQUID COOLING system can' be Trusted or Fixed in remote areas
Bro RD350 was an epic fail at that time, why will Yamaha relaunch that motorcycle now?
Read the comment clearly bro
As i mentioned RD350 4 Stroke !
Are you kidding? I mean seriously.....you saying that it's time for other indian bike manufacturers like Bajaj to pull up their socks, are you out of your mind?? In fact it's the other way round, Bajaj is offering the latest technology, doing their best to give the customers value for money products and on the other hand look at RE giving sub standard products, they are the laggards in the motor bike market, RE should pull up their socks and start taking a serious relook at the quality of their products.
+Rahul Singh +prasad suryawanshi sure they didn't have anything thus far. But the 650 twins are the only twin cylinder, middleweight capacity engine by any Indian manufacturer thus far, and are the most powerful too. While historically RE hasn't done much, at this point, they have the lead. Also, makers like Bajaj and TVS are creating news engines based on powerplants from models like the 390 Duke and G310R. The 650 twins, however, are made by RE on their own. Sure, their past isn't too great in terms of engines and performance, but we have to give it to them when they do something good
Motoroids it's too early to give them the credit for anything. Do you know the number of problems that are there in the brand-new-built-from-scratch Himalayan. It's an utter shame that the motorcycle advertised as a machine that'll conquer the Himalayas isn't able to run normally even in an urban environment. And let's not speak about the serious quality issues and lack of tech in bullets and Thunderbirds. And it's not that Bajaj and TVS are following the lead, they've always been on the lookout to provide the path breaking products to us Indian consumer, be it the Pulsars, Apaches or the Dominar. Whereas RE didn't even tried to give the latest tech and quality which is expected in these times. RE should take an inspiration from other Indian bike manufacturers and at least provide the quality which justifies their price tag
Rahul Singh we agree there may be glitches, and that's what we have mentioned in the end of the video. But the effort and ambition by itself is laudable, don't you think
Motoroids no, I think first they need to provide quality products, that's the most basic thing. They should respect the fact the consumers are shelling out their hard earned money to buy these bikes. I will laud their effort the day they start respecting consumers.
Rahul Singh bajaj gave us the bikes like discover where you allways have to meet you machenic daily for the scrap your riding
i hope it doesn't fall apart because of vibrations like other RE models.
Hope they might have worked on the vibration part..as most of the RE bikes do.
1:32 seat is trying to come out and fly ...
its actually 1:35
Vivek Joseph Not for everyone , Royal Enfield build 🤣🤣🤣
Brother...its not final product ... just for tst
Ethan Fernandes so thankfully Royal Enfield's real fans will get something awesome soon 😄
Very informative..and have mentioned all the important points..great work
+meditateon2wheels thanks
Please add kickstarter men its will be very annoying when your batery getting off on a long trip (sorry for my bad english)
I'm with you. I'm in the States and I agree, I'd buy one if it had a kick starter. I cut my teeth on kick starters.
You're right and your English is perfectly understandable, a lot better than my Hindi ( or any other Indian language).
does it have a slipper clutch or a slip assist clutch ??
hope this one comes without vibration.
I have a std 350, the positive for me is the riding comfort, cheap spare parts, cops do not stop you for harassing. But the list for negative is long ims - no tubeless tires (this is a big worry for long journeys), no digital speedo meter, rusting body parts, service centre scams. Regards
Manjunath M R thanks for sharing your experience
1:35 .... look at the seat.... it will pop out ... lol 😂😂
To all thise confused about launch dates and market priorities, this is the information I got from Royal Enfield directly, from an employee, on an exchange of messages in linked in (edited to only show the necessary and important info: "Following the US launch, we are launching the 650 Twins in a phased manner across the world. The next market is India and this would be followed by more markets across the world. (...) we shall be announcing the price and retail availaibilty for Europian regions at EICMA (Milan, Italy) on November 6th."
So now I know India will be before Europe, so I can expect another 6 months to 1 year....
It will still be third class build quality and engine reliability will suck - look at the seat almost coming off at 1:32
What? No evidence of that happening...
Coming off, really???
That’s possibly a test mule and not a production bike, I’ve ridden the interceptor 650 recently and the quality is pretty good for the money it ain’t a triumph but it’s still good enough.
Fingers crossed for vibrations !!!
Himalayan with this engine is the bike for me.
love the triumph Bonneville look which RE copied though
Mani Maaran if my memory serves rt, Bonneville have been chugging fuel since late 50s. can we claim that interceptors of 60s were original designs?
r you sayin that a retro bike which looks like a retro bike is always a copy of triumph
my bad. Will put the discussion to rest. RE is the best brand in the world.
I love the styling and there's nothing I would change - BUT to be very critical 47 HP is poor by modern standards (my old XS 650 kicked out more) skinny tyres? Reliability will be key for European sales, price point at 6k in the UK is competitive. I wouldn't buy a new one give a year or two to see how they fair. All in all though I really like what they have done right down to the retro rear light assembly.
+Mark Pitman still a big leap for RE
I never worry too much about horsepower it's the torque that counts. I ride a kawasaki VN 900, 50HP and plenty of torque, top speed 110 and very strong acceleration what more could you possibly want. I will be keeping my eye on the Interceptor for the future though, looks an impressive bike.
any updates!!? regarding release date or price...
By August, abou 4 lakh
I love classic bikes I love design may go for one
Too much cc for Indian roads trim it down for us middle class people and the price too 😭 interceptor Rocks
when is the interceptor releasing in USA?
+Roby Williams no official dates yet. But we're guessing by mid next year.
In one of the previous videos of gt 535 it is said the engine is bulletproof
'Exploit the chassis to the 'utmost' ', rather than the 'hilt', but well done in general as I cannot speak a word of your language , except perhaps 'Jodphur'.
I own a RE desert storm and have been using it for the last 4 years, no issues with my bike.. all i do is just the usual oil change..
Go get 'em India !
I think the big single are the best
like RE classic 500
The good old Interceptor 750 Mk-ii made in 1971 used to produce 60 BHP and this new joke for Interceptor produces just 45 BHP. Speak of taking a dump on your glorious history, RE surely is a champion in doing that.
Compete with Triumph, in their dreams may be.
TheNocturnalEvil
Maybe its down to emissions regulations?
My Kawasaki VN 900 makes only 50 Bhp and pulls very strongly all through the Rev range because it is set for high torque at around 75 Nm. Question whether you want a machine that is use able in the city traffic and the highway or do you want something that screams along at high revs and sounds like it's about to explode and is a nightmare in traffic. I think 45 Bhp is about right for this size of bike it is a street come touring machine after all.
TheNocturnalEvil The old British twins shook themselves to pieces worse than anything out there.
My brother owned black chrome classic 500 2012 model it is a nice bike he cruise 150+ wen he comes from Bangalore to Coimbatore even I reached once 145+kmph HOSUR to Bangalore highway.. and still now no trouble with that but nowadays people saying re is waste it reach only 130 kmph 500 cc is it true and many problem coming I don't know but my brothers bike is very good I like that 500 cc black chrome ☺️☺️
I'm sure will plan for this interceptor 650 I like that bike very much ☺️
i really like the int
Can we make double seat in continental GT?
Hope its not another higher displacement tractor
An evolutionary Leap for indian bike manufacturing company.
Where every other bike manufacturing company like Hero, Bajaj, TVS is dragging same engines like DTSI for decades and never do any R & D of their own always copying engines from companies like Duke, Kawasaki, BMW with cheap replicates.
Only Laal have balls to do experiments start from scratch and compete with companies like triumph, Harley and others in international market.
I wonder where these other indian bike manufacturing companies put their money they earned from decades of shit bike selling.
By the way I am not RE owner and have Discover parked under my house.
Indeed!!
Waiting...:)
Reduce vibrations at higher speed ..😅 tht would be the main task ..
Actually I didn't want to comment or get involved in any of the TH-cam videos related to people ranting about RE it's technology, it's defective machines, haathi math palo blah blah blah, because I didn't want to get down to the level of these people who are ranting about RE but enough is enough. First thing first, Fuck All!!! yes you read it right Fuck All!! Being a Bulletier is totally a different attitude, we actually don't give a fuck about top speed, latest technology, the gizmos, the plastic cosmetics and all, we are the old school bikers by our own choice and we love being one. If you don't like a RE, please fuck off, nobody's stoping you. Always be proud of your machine and a true biker will always welcome new ideas, opinions and respect all the machines regardless of its size and it's capacity and will never Bitch about other machines. If you don't like something, move on guys, shoo!shoo! move on, don't bitch about it like jobless neighborhood aunties. RE is and always will be The Legend of Indian Motorcycle Industry, more than 100 years of legacy and we are proud of it. It was and always will be a dream Motorcycle of millions of people. Peace 😉😉😉
Madhan Gopal those who buys decades old bike with same DTSI engine and praise it is new will never understand.
They praise dominar but failed to understand that it is a full legal copy of Duke engine.
RE is the only Indian company Qualified to compete with companies like TRIUMPH AND HARLEY.
if you'd have noticed its mostly when fanboys claim inherent flaws in design and manufacturing as character or being old-school that others lose their shit and start pointing out RE for what it really is. Having a classic looking bike and air cooled engine is never an excuse for quality and reliability issues, especially so since its not anything to talk about when it comes to performance either.
Nityanand Saswade True that
Mr. Rahul K.T First one has to be Bullet admirer to understand the bike coz it's not just another bike on the road, it's a Royal Enfield Classic. A Bulletier knows what he wants and what he desires. The manufacturer makes it very clear about the specification and we know it's heavy we know it vibrates more than other bikes and we know it's capacity. Fools won't understand and Squids won't respect and we always give a dam about it. 👍👍👍
@Madhan Gopal you could be in this state of denial for the rest of your life but the fact is that the bikes that RE makes now are just like any other bike on the road. Its not a mythical creature that's beyond criticism. Its not like handmade bullets of the past. There is no reason for them to fail so terribly when it comes to quality and reliability (May be except that there are so called "bulletiers" who'd take whatever is given with a RE badge slapped onto it.) There is always a market for retro looking and feeling bikes and I'd like to own one too but not when they are so unreliable and plagued with the quality issues.
continental GT is love
RE cannot match the quality and reliability of Japanese bikes
they need to make 650 califorina bobber rigid.
Charlie Gutierrez step by step my friend.
rigids may not suit our roads. neither a rigid is approved according to our motor vehicle act.
Why isn't anyone talking about the balancer shaft on the bike
Quite a few have. But we'll see how well it works only in the real world
Motoroids -tvs seems to have nailed it on the new rtr series with that piece of tech(I mean I rode it alongside the gixxer and it blew me,i t was actually better), let's hope it works just as well for RE too.
Will they fix re Himalayan ... I loved the bike so much.. And hearing negative reviews about it I'm not sure to buy that are not ( quality issues ) .. And if I buy that bike and it keeps on giving me problems I'm not that rich to fix it then and there.. But I love to go off road.. And it suits me so well.. I'm 6.1 ..
They have sorted out the issues in Himalayan BS4. You can buy that.
Me too using Himalayan for 10k+. No major issues. Simply loves its performance on bad roads. Hardly any sub 2 lakh indian bike can do that... wish they launch Himalayan 650 too.
roman pearce Don't waste money for looks, service centre sucks and there are many issues with RE himalayan and people are regretting after buying one, few guys are lucky to have no probs with the bikes engine... buying RE is like a gamble !! Buy one if you think you are lucky, have time to look after the bike and money to spend on regular basis...
No such issues...Issues are created by the paid trolls like the ones above financed by the Bajaj PR team.I can see two prominent "technicians "who has been lambasting the bullet from the day Bajaj launched the Dominar..
RE is legend, let haters say whatever they wanna say. you just ride your own way n you own it
Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 or Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 which will be the best cafe racer?
Can't comment yet, as haven't ridden the two bikes
I really hope the quality will increase. In Europe RE is very appreciate, quality match the price. But could be better.
Do you still feel That RE builds for their classic bikes is less than good? Thnx
i wander how much in Europe?
We'll know soon
are they going to import these to USA?
Yes they will
Tubeless tyres to nahi hai na
Those exhausts were fabricated at a local iron welding shop or what ??
A wonderful machine indeed... But... The question is... How feasible will it be for Indian roads...? That's the main question at the end of the day... That's a new engine they're putting up on that machine... Just like the Himalayan...I hope it's issue free... I plan on buying a high end motorbike like this or maybe a lower costing Harley in a few years time... If I'm convinced of its quality, well then, I'll like to go with the interceptor!
Well I will buy one ,
i have seen re interceptor power it will give a tough lesser then its segment but but its 600cc wont enough for 600cc other bikes
MN it sounds like 270° crank engine
Interceptor for me!
Waiting
Most of the people don't care about cafe racer or classic bikes, people want sport bikes and naked sport bikes so RE is in another category
I am waiting!!
Wont the continental be having pillion seats
?
+Soutrik Banerjee no, it seems
I love my Dominar 400 ABS. A mean machine, super power to Weight ratio.
these dumb fks are comparing a 400cc bike with a 650 ....rofl
hahahahahhaha true that also single cylinder to twin cylinder
prasanth parameswaran You didnt hear him clearly. He said Dominor failed to catch 650s. So its Dominor rider who thought its "OK" to compare. Had he been able to overtake, u would have been judging the later for poor show.
lol , dominar guy wanted to check out he new bike ....he didn't know it was 650cc ..wtf bruhh ...i heard him clearly...
prasanth parameswaran Hes not checking out. Chasing despratly to beat him and learned a quick lesson. Go ahead with your comprehension.
any one know about song playing at begining...
It's a TH-cam creator studio music
Who can tell me about price 2 model on this video I relly want to know it. Thx
+Nopharid Suntimunin it would be ariund 3.5 lakh ex-showroom from what we know right now
Do u have usd price ? Thx for your answer
Nopharid Suntimunin Should be around 5500 USD, not confirmed though
thx man
Great bikes
Is Royal Enfield obligated to make air cold engine? Why not liquid cooled?
liquid cooled engine is a must especially for very high revving engines to maintain heat and thus emissions. that too 3 or four cylinder engines cannot be simple aircooling fins uniformly. but incase of singles or twins that are low revving and torqy can be effeciently aircooled and at same time emission complaint. PArticularly in india the emission norms are simply what europe has been following some decades back. so air cooled slow to mid revving engines will have no problem wrt emissions. simply efi and right valve timing would suffice
i really hope it sounds better than dug dud dug... hopeful with parallel twin...
With due respect that Dug Dug Dug is what everybody loves when they ride one
Not for this one apparently.... in a video i saw on the RE site they said that its more of a rumble... than the traditional sound... and personally i think that the "dug dug" sound was more suited to the yesteryear bikes... classic and standard ones... i think its time they try out something new.... you know reshaping concepts and all
Royal Enfield bullet is a 'culture'
RE's response to bajaj dominar advertisement
That description of RE is wrong at many levels throughout the video. 2:05 rusty chain.
Purchasing triumph thruxton or Bonneville would be a safer bet coz they have spent a lot of time in this segment, i believe RE is just trying to copy their styling and engine dynamics to compete with bajaj-triumph alliance.
simranjit singh an advantage would be the cost. While we are sceptical too, let's hope that the new chassis and engine is glitch free
seriously bro.... Thruxton or a Bonneville would cost as much as twice if not higher. Pls do some research. Re new interceptor has nothing common except its a parallel twin with 270 degree cranks. The new interceptor is replicated from the old one from the 60s era and at that time i was consired as one of the first superbikes. Safer bet on what. price, reliability or mpg....??????
Kamesh S pricing, relaibility and mpg we'll have to wait for that
Indyeah !! Yup, Look it up on Google
Please give me 200cc interceptor variant 😉 this thing is too expensive
As for the Indian economy these bikes are best but globally ,comparing with other vintage bikes it’s crap. Not even crap . It doesn’t even exist.
Not only looks and power but also keep quality and provide better after sale service. otherwise you will have to hear blamings only.
Bhaya mileage?????
+Ashwin Krishna not launched yet
👍 nice !
How about the vibes? there is no point if these two also has vibes like classic 350/500.
We don't know yet, as we have not ridden the bikes. They'd better not have bikes, or they'll be dead on arrival.
Motoroids True. i dont know what they think of ppl to drive with such heavy vibes. And ppl also buy it in the name of royalty. Foolish ppl dont realize they are being robbed in the name of a brand. Also the power is quite less.
royalenfield int650cc bike seating position too bad improve the seating position and silencer single silencer suitable
Arent Bajaj and Hero Motocorp already offering premium bikes? It is RE that has finally pulled up its socks, or rather bought some socks against the competition. Also, 'we saw a video where the interceptor was being chased by a dominar, and the dominar couldnt keep up with it'? Seriously? The fact is, even with 277 ccs less than the interceptor, the dominar was easily keeping up with it! It is one thing to love RE, but writing a biased review is a whole new low. The two bikes are not comparable-the dominar is performance oriented, which no RE ever was. Maybe we should compare REs with bikes from a similar segment, like the triumph street twin, or the thruxton (good luck for that, RE).
Anyway, that was for argument's sake. I dont own a dominar, neither do i have an RE. However, I just love the new RE twins, especially the continental 650. Cant wait to get my hands on it!! With all the high quality gear that RE has thrown at them, these two bikes should feel more premium, reliable, and value for money. The previous continental wasnt bad either. But, I am not gonna commit the mistake of buying the bike before I get some user reviews about the build quality and reliability. I have wanted to buy the RE TB 500 in the past, but after reading unhappy user reviews and blogs, I decided against it.
Look base and power base, its not up to mark. Us renegade is blasting it own way in look base and all other bikes available in market have more power compared with cc of Re Interceptor 650. Price may higher than 3.5 lakhs. Not good choice for smart thinker.
Great lovely
