Great video! It’s really awesome to see these famous east coast fossil sites since I’ve heard of them for years, but never saw actual site photos or footage. That looked like some serious hard work busting out that layer! Glad you came away with some nice finds & thanks for posting!

Hi James, Thank you for watching. Yes that rock was hard. There are many places in Penn Dixie that is less consolidated but I think that that layer (the Smoke Creek Trilobite Bed) gives the best chances for complete trilobites. Cheers, Chris

Amazing finds! I went to Penn Dixie a week ago and found some great trilobites but none like you found.

Hi NotASuspect, That is awesome! Glad that you made good finds. Next time you go, ask the people who work there where they have been finding them lately. They tend to know where the best spots are. Cheers, Chris

Thank you very much Dustin! Yes, I sure will. Likewise if you are ever in the NY area. We may be planning a trip to OH this year. Is that within your range? Cheers, Chris

You should a hammer and Cheisl instead of a small sledge. That’s why you get frags

Thank you Danie. Malcom taught us a very good way to do it a little later on. Check out the "Trilobite Expert Assemblage" Episode. Thank you for watching! Cheers, Chris

Do you really think that one has to plant trilobites at Penn Dixie?
