A white man whose parents lived across the street from my parents' house would leave his black girlfriend in the car for hours while he visited his parents. For the life of me, I could never understand why she sat there. I finally approached her one day and asked her why does she allow him and his family to disrespect her. All she said was, " I don't know." As blacks, it's important that we fully understand who we are.
I'm sure the black family will encourage their love one to bear and tolerate it. In time these individuals realize that they allow these things because....
