5:20 They were never off, and there was no recovery. It seems like he was simply apologizing for breaking into a different time signature on them and leaving them to count on their own. Hence being able to jump back in perfectly on time.
Not many drummers own brushes. In fact, before the Nirvana Unplugged show everyone was worried that Grohl would play too hard. Someone ran out and bought him brushes and Grohl said, "Thanks, I've always wanted brushes."
You've gotten me so much better at drumming, made me find my favorite band(I Prevail), and inspire me to play the drums everyday. you are an incredibly talented person :) Keep making videos and music and we will watch and listen to all of them :)
Totally agree with the repeating your mistakes. Done it many times and it actually works out almost always. By doing that, nobody in the audience realizes anything even happened.
I've only tried to play drums once. I was so nervous to play it because I never played before that when I stood up I tipped and bent over a few cables on the floor and broke two bones in my right foot. I would put that expierence into the category of "Not Recommended"!
New Years Eve 2022, I was invited onstage to sit in on few songs. I'm like sure, let's do this! What I found was a left-handed setup. It was strange, but I managed to choke-out 6 songs without the band members choking me out. The crowd didn't seem to notice, but my wife was like, dude you sounded terrible. Maybe the 5,000 fans were too polite to boo me off the stage.
The worst incident I’ve had while playing is when bringing a stick up I accidentally brought it too far back and as I swung back down I managed to chop in underneath the corner of my jawbone, not fun XD
You should talk about the impossible job of megadeth drummer Those videos have helped me learn about my favorite bands Like green day, metallica, avenged sevenfold
I love your videos and Pov's of shows with I prevail, you guys are so coooolll❤❤ I'd love to get into metalcore and metal drumming, but I'd like to know from you if you have any suggestions about which drumkit should I start with... I have neighbours on the left and on the right side of my house and I'll have to soundproof the room, but for the drumkit I don't know where to start from haha
man... I was browsing on TH-cam and looking for some S.O.A.D. videos, then your ''POV: you're a professional drummer'' appears to me and I think ''hmm interesting, I'll watch it''. When I watched it, I loved your work, your band, your way of dealing with situations, man, how crazy! As a new Brazilian fan, I would like to say that I appreciate your work, I appreciate you, and man, you deserve it!
Gabe you deserve WAY more subs than you have. Not to pick on how many subs you have, but your vids are so entertaining and educational and I don't know why you don't have like 5m subs at this point. SUBSCRIBE ANYONE WHO WATCHES THIS VIDEO! GABE IS GREAT
He didn't drink, smoke and lit a candle at the same time. He only has 1 hand available, how can you even say this without realizing how illogical it sounds. El Estepario Siberiano arguably multitasks by doing insanely quick fills with only one hand, and polyrhythmic kicks while handling/drinking stuff with his free hand. Basically, playing a hard song, adding a 2nd rhythm and a 3rd task with his free hand.
To be fair the timing in the Intro to Shortest Straw (the song that Lars played in the Guitar Hero vid) is weird af. I dont think its on a click at all. I am a guitarist and I always mess it up. Live they play it to a regular tempo and Lars counts along on the hi hat
66semus's video came with a point. He may have went 21 shots deep but he really didnt want to and it was an experiment at the end of the day, he even said it was a very bad idea before, during, and after doing it lol he is a very talented drummer, hense why his double pedaling sounds so good. He pushes rudements and technique, but he has a very interesting personality to say the least lol worth checking his channel out for sure. He played on a lego snare and it sounded amazing
Speed drummers simply arent impressive anymore. When I saw some old Granny doing the exact same thing, it dawned on me how simple it clearly was. I’d much rather see impressive technique and cool interesting rhythms any day that are fun to listen to, rather than someone just hammering everything at once in a cacophony of noise and no way of telling whether half the notes are even in time.
Im saying this as a long term fan. I don't like what your channel has become. It's the same exposition at the start of every video. It's like you care less about the content you make now and more about the impact it'll have on your business (both of DBO and being a touring musician with a name). and now this video?? TikTok reactions??? feels kinda like your selling out a little honestly.
66Samus is a great drummer, but ruins his videos vy acting like he is in Elementary School, and thinking he is witty and funny when he is not at all?!!!
is it just me or does this guy literally contribute nothing except for a couple mhm's and oh yeah's. Also why is he sitting in the drumset when he hasn't played a single thing
A bad teacher not explaining, just playing. Like bro, I’ve seen tons of people playing drums. You think TH-cam just doesn’t exist? What do you think I’m paying you for?

Hahaha, great video Gabe!!!!
Dude... I need to know about the aftermath of that experiment!!
5:20 They were never off, and there was no recovery. It seems like he was simply apologizing for breaking into a different time signature on them and leaving them to count on their own. Hence being able to jump back in perfectly on time.
I’m a guitar player, only videos that infuriate me are of people playing Thunderstruck wrong
😂
THHUNDER STRUCKK!!! 📣📣📣
Or people being more impressive with them playing it with only hammer-ons
So I can play wonderwall to you?
i feel you amigo

that transition into the sponsor was CLEAN
I hate the fact that some of his good videos get no views
Bro dropped the smoothest cut to sponsor and thought we wouldn’t notice
You are a great drummer I got into double bass because of you. You are a massive inspiration to me and thousands of people
Thank you so much for sharing ❤
I was a drummer in all of high school and the phrase 'singers don't listen to drummers' is disturbing accurate 😂
I've only tried to play drums once. I was so nervous to play it because I never played before that when I stood up I tipped and bent over a few cables on the floor and broke two bones in my right foot. I would put that expierence into the category of "Not Recommended"!
I Prevail is my 3rd favorite band, and I just found out last week that you’re their drummer!!!??!!?!!?? How didn’t I find out sooner? 🤯
Haha happens all the time 😜
Not second? whats wrong with you? Why third? man that just don't make sense.
@@capo_di_capi he probably listens to more bands than u
@@capo_di_capi This is my personal opinion so please don’t take offense to this, but here’s my top 3:
1 - Paleface Swiss
2 - Atilla
3 - I Prevail
I love all the clips from school of rock! I’m actually playing Freddy (the drummer kid) in a school of rock musical right now!

That first one was an interesting one experiment.
Samus is awesome.
Also, over-preparing is an interesting concept

I’m not a musician at all. However, I immediately become irate watching videos of people playing Caribbean Queen wrong.
my soul died a little when i seen the snare drum get destroyed
😬😬
sorry but have is the best drummer on this platform he’s a good teacher and i love his pov vids
your band is my fav and your a my second fav drummer! keep at the good work.
Another great video!
To be fair to lars in that clip, to play that song with no actual click or count in is really really hard
But, it's easier to play songs you wrote.
Would like to see "The Impossible job of Sum 41's Drummer" vid soon
Make sure that "Drum Beats Online" has a stylist to make sure your pretty boy has his hair, George Michael style beard, on point.
