It's like they were the original Beesleys. I can't wait to see you two at that age.
Only time I've heard anyone say 60 F (15 C) as warm are from Canadians, New Yorkers and Brits. 😆
65 is not even room temperature
@@garycamara9955 😆
Florida beaches at Christmas time are clogged with Canadians who think it's beach weather.
In Pennsylvania, you could only buy beer and liquor in what was called the State Store. You still cannot purchase liquor in the supermarkets, but you can now purchase beer and wine in supermarkets.
When i was in customer service. I always made it a point to be pleasent. You never know what someone is going through it doesnt hurt to try and make their day better.
Even if someone was just being nice for tips (I haven't really seen it and I'm 65 years old) what does it hurt if they are having a pleasant time?
Beer in the US used to be manufactured in industrial breweries and sold quite cheaply. As American Consumers decided that beer was increasingly to be an occasional splurge, they moved more towards craft breweries and independent local breweries which charged higher prices but sold a higher quality product in terms of flavor and grain input.
8:40 As a Floridian that's cold winter weather for me.
The strangest thing happened during Milton, an alligator actually attacked a truck in a road. It did no damage but it’s very odd to see that in the road especially attacking something way too big for itself. It happened close to where the storm made landfall. That’s absolutely bizarre.
Maybe it was stressed from the hurricane.
When authorities say stay out of the water, they mean stay out of the water.
Yep I thought it might have punctured the tire of the truck but it didn't. It was wild.
If you buy your beer in supermarkets or gas stations, it's way cheaper than the average tourist spots.
They are talking about their first trip to the US in 1992, but they are filming this video in 2019 and using 2019 gas prices in Canada.
Yep. A 5 year old video describing their experience over 30 years ago.
I'm not sure what the relevance of any of their observations would be to 2024. Also, the Mrs. looks like she was talked into doing this one 😂
Of course, the cliche " shocked" when "surprised" or " unexpected" are more accurate
Gas is $2.80 per gallon where i live in the U.S., right now.
Dang, rural I'm guessing. I'm in a suburb in California. $3.99.
@@DoGooder13👍 South Georgia. I'm really surprised it is so cheap right now. My area just got smashed by Hurricane Helene. Usually after a disaster they jack up the price. ✌
@@the-superbike-squad Sorry to hear that. I hope yall are ok. Gas companies usually do price gouge, but I think because of the election, all eyes are on them. They will be used in election ads if they do right now.
@@DoGooder13 Were ok. My community had one death. That's really miraculous considering all the damage. Lost the roof off of my shop, had some shingle damage on my house, and lost all of the food in my freezers, but that's nothing really. We're alive, that's all that matters.
@@the-superbike-squad Good to hear. Not about the death but that yall are ok. Hopefully FEMA is helping yall. I hear there is some misinformation but hopefully FEMA is helping yall. Stay safe and good luck with the season to come. After hearing the damages from Hurricanes, I don't complain about our earthquakes anymore. lol✌
Yes, gas is about 60% cheaper in the U.S. than the U.K.
Its just under $5, a gal now. I remember 33 cents a gallon for 100 octane.
And the UK is about 60% smaller than the U.S.
@@melindaburch4318 More like 97% smaller
Canada has about another US $1 per gallon on gas
What a lovely couple .
1992, I remember was the last year gas was less than $1 a gallon. At least in the south east.
Myrtle Beach has Can-Am week every Spring..
It's MASSIVE!
Canadians have been coming to Myrtle Beach since the 50s.
Bet ya courteous friendly people enjoy their work more than those who don’t.
Gas is way more expensive in California than almost anywhere else in the US. It's about $4.55/gal. in the San Diego area today. Even so, it would still seem cheap to someone from the UK, Europe, or even Canada, because their taxes are even higher than ours.
California has its own blend of gas. It's actually different than the other states.
@@garycamara9955 That's definitely a factor (including that they have both special "summer" and "winter" blends...), but the biggest part of the high price is the ridiculous amount of taxes that California charges on gas. They make far more profit on it than the oil company does.
Great video! Sorta like a sneak preview of The Beasley's in 30-40 years having moved to America and discussing their first road trip to Canada along with their children!
Throwing out “Wisconsin” when talking about beer prices makes me so proud. Lol. £1.80 for a pint outside of MKE
I just bought gasoline ⛽️ today. It was $3.09 a gallon. It is getting cheaper. It is Sunday, October 13, 2024.
I lived in Phoenix, Arizona for 30 years. During the winter it would be 65-70 degrees F. We would have people from Michigan would be visiting for spring break. The visitors would be in shorts, T-shirts, and flip flops. The residents of Phoenix would be wearing long jeans, sweatshirts, hoodies, and boots complaining how cold it was. Now remember, Phoenix just survived a series of weeks of 110 degrees temps.
60 degrees is NOT hot. It's cold.
Coming from Canada, I am hot at that temperature. I always melt here (in the States) in summer
Many Canadians cross the border to shop here, get gas and also use our hospitals.
It is estimated that 600,000 of them live in the US and over 100,000 Brits reside in America as well
Gas depends on which state. I'm in California. $4.05 Right now at Arco and $3.99 at Costco.
Gasoline is over 6 pounds per gallon in Jersey per a quick Google search. It's definitely cheaper in the USA. Canada's running about $1.25/liter right now. The USA is still cheaper.
@@johnlabus7359 Wow. The only time we here in California have seen $6 gas was during the price gouging after the pandemic. Thanks.
@@DoGooder13 The average gas price in California has NEVER reached $6.
@@jabreck1934 Yes, I know, I didn't say average, I was talking about what I've seen at its peak where I live during that time. 😉
Yep an in Mexico it's about 23 pesos if not more.
Gas is about $3 a gallon here today in Florida.
Amazing how the Democrats dropped gas prices right before the election but couldn't do it for 3.5 years
$3.99 in California Costco atm
@@travr6 Amazing how stupid some people are when it comes to how gas prices work.
@@travr6 Politicians dont set prices, gas companies do. And we all know they prefer Republicans becuz of their friendly policies.😅The only thing the government can do is release reserves which they haven't. Nice try tho.🤣
@MsChiefsfan-w4k Tell me about it.
Biden ends pipeline construction, ends federal drilling leases, and drains the strategic petroleum reserves when he starts. Oil production drops and prices go up.
A few months ago Democrats open up a ton of new drilling leases nearly doubling oil production and gas prices fall.
It's amazing there are stupid people that say the president can't effect oil prices.
Beer is always more expensive in restaurants and bars. He is talking about buying beer in stores to take home and drink A US beer in a restaurant is about $3 to $4 USD per bottle and an international beer is about $5 US. A beer you buy in a six-pack, 12 pack or case (24 bottles) comes out to $1.25 each bottle.
yup. also at amusement parks, ball games, airports,
Also in casinos and any sport even you go to
I used to have jobs in between my professional job in retail. I never turned on a different persona to get tips. Most Americans are just warm and friendly. Especially waitresses.
If you ever want to take a golfing vacation base yourself in Lincoln, NE. You’ll have about 50 courses to choose from in a 50 mile radius. Most very good value for the quality and quantity. The city owns four 18 hole courses and a junior course.
The way I understood them was they immigrated to Canada in 1992. They had never been to the USA, so they decided to go in 2019.
both of these UK couples are fantastic.
Outlet malls are pure overstock stuff or factory rejects. You literally find even luxury brands like Gucci at massive discounts. I buy Disney stuff at massive discounts because it’s at the character warehouse. I resell most of it because it’s profit and collectors go nuts for Disney stuff. A brand new pair of Minnie ears is $80 to $90 at the parks but like $8 at the character warehouse. It’s crazy.
One gallon of gas by me in Florida is about $3.25. There are almost 4 UK litres to one US gallon and that would mean the UK pays almost $13 USD per for a gallon of gas. US $3.25 and UK $13.
Did y convert that from liters to gallons, cuz they go by liters in the UK. I'm in So Cal and it's $4.23 a gal right now at my cheapest gas station.
@@JoshuaMartian-go3tm Yes, I did. All 4 liters to a US gallon. Yes, I also know gas is more expensive in CA and NY-- my native state.
@@ESUSAMEX Ok, I’m too lazy to do the conversion. 😁Tell me about it, that’s why I stick to Costco & Arco(BP) 😁
Good reason to stay out of the UK
Things were different back then. Comparing the USA today to even 10, 15 years ago there is a vast difference. It was better back then in a lot of ways
Comparing the U.S. prices to 4 years ago is insanely worse.
Yes, gas is very cheap in the US.
Canada has nationwide alcohol laws. In the US it can depend on state or even county laws. And if it truly was 1992, it could have been different then.
My parents lived in Daytona Beach so their vlog about that would be interesting.
Beer in a liquor store or a gas station or a grocery store is waaaay cheaper than what you paid at the hotel.
Yeah gas is still cheaper in the US at large. I have a friend that works at a duty free shop on the US Canada border and it's kind of hidden in the back in Canada.
My Husband can golf for $30 and this includes the cart and 18 holes. His friend would go and they'd split the cost.
Love your videos and your family. You are very entertaining. It’s great to see a young couple experiencing our country. ❤😊😊😊
Im in Myrtle Beach 😊
they went to America in 1992 & they made a video in 2019 so they were showing you a picture of a gas station from 2019 to show the difference in prices....everything else used to be cheaper in the 90's....60°F is cold Fall weather here in Southwest Arizona....Walmart used to have greeters back in the day but now they just have receipt checkers....its quicker & cheaper to literally move the house than to buy another house or build a house....malls in the 90's were the best thing but unfortunately there's very few of them left cus of online buying....you guys should definitely do a roadtrip over here
In Canada we still have greeters in the Walmarts.
Currently In New Jersey the price of Gas (unleaded inc taxes) can be around $2.67 or 2.04 UK Pounds per US Gallon.
I think they moved to Canada from the UK, and then after several years in Canada they decided to take their family on a USA roadtrip. Except for Vancouver, Canada is really cold .. so a lot of Canadians spend the winter in the USA .. especially Florida. You're right that houses get moved. But in this case when a house is wrapped , Florida is tropical so like Hawaii .. it gets wood termites .... so a house may have to be covered in a tent to fumigate . Love their Britishness ... very calm, low voices, and pleasant like you guys ...
No they said that they had been living in Canada for only a few months at that point.
It's about $ 45 - 55 dollars to play eighteen holes of golf here in North Central Florida.
It aounded to me like they moved from the UK to Canada in 1992, but their trip to the US was more recent.
Edit: Nope. Watched a little further and they did visit the US shortly after moving to Canada.
They're talking about beer from the grocery stores or gas stations 12pk 18pk etc
Golf prices depend on the location of the course. I used to play thirty six holes and rented a cart. All for $150. That was back in the 80’s and that was on the golf course in Hawaii on Maui. 😊
I’m loving this couple so why am I thinking about SNL?❤
EVERYTHING in California and New York is more expensive than all other states. I live in Florida, not Miami it's very expensive too, and I can get a pint for 2 dollars at a lot of places and a 12 pack is about 12 dollars at the gas station
Down the road from me in Alabama, regular is going for $2.79/gal
The video you are watching was done April 2021.
And I get the vibes that they actually came to visit USA in 2019 liike the time stamp on that gas photo.
In nineteen ninety two gas was typically about 75 cents a gallon to a dollar ten a gallon.Depending on what state you are in
Just got done watching your Momma cook meatloaf and it looked so good. Myself I use only ground beef. Anyway I really enjoyed Vicki's first time making it.
Gas prices are generally higher at the gas stations closest to the highways.
In the south there are dry counties where you can’t buy alcohol. You can drive a few miles into a non dry county you can buy alcohol. You can drink in a dry county. You just can’t buy alcohol there. It’s ridiculous really 😮😊
Gas at my walmart in Texas is $2.57. If you are a member of walmart plus, gas will cost you $2.47.
If you buy beer in the store 24 pack 21-22 dollars
They wrap houses when they fumigate them.
In NY NJ about $2.80 a gallon.
It’s the exchange rate from Canadian dollars to American dollars. We actually spend much less than Canada. It’s 1 American dollar to 1.38 Canadian dollars. It’s a lot if you add it all up.
No, they moved to Canada in 1992, and they now just finally came to America recently, so they never were here before.
If you click on the link for the original video, it says in the description that they made their first trip to the US in 1992.
Gas is $4.30 a gallon near Sacramento California
The beer I drink is 12$ for 18
Pre 911 all you needed to cross the border either way was a govt issued card I used my drivers license and my in-laws just used their medical card to come down.
If we didn’t have cheap gas, we wouldn’t be able to go anywhere. Our country is HUGE.
True, but how many Americans are actually crossing the country. Besides, I am from Canada originally where gas is more expensive than in the States, and geographically, the country is bigger
On Minnesota $2.99 and U88 .15-.20 less
HEY KIDS... YOU GUYS STILL DON'T SEEM TO GET IT.... THE WAIT STAFF ISN'T BEING NICE FOR TIPS.... THEY'RE BEING NICE BECAUSE THEY ARE NICE... THE TIPS ARE FOR GOOD AND ATTENTIVE SERVICE!!!! SMH...

We do have laws in the US regarding how to treat the flag, but anyone can have and display the flag.
Prices in the US have doubled since 2021. Fuel and utility prices have even tripled at times since then.
Fuel tripled since '21?
@@SJHFoto
From just under $2 a gallon for regular unleaded, as with diesel too, up to as much as $6 a gallon. The price has gone down to $4.50 now that it's close to election time.
I paid $2.59/gallon last week for gas.
Walmart eliminated the greeter job because of the pandemic. They switched to motion activated gates but you have either a banner or paint of welcome. It’s just how it is.
We still have greeters in Canada.
Woodbury Commons is in New York and no you didn’t cross over to New Jersey 👌🏾🤣
It looks like the house was treated for termites
I just spent $ 2,47 for a gallon... Dallas, Texas
Gas is half price in USA to CAN all because of taxes.
No beer can be sold outside unless the store is a 24 hr shop, then only when the beer is on sale. So did they see cheap beer outside, I don't doubt it, but that would have been an oddity for U.S. standards. A station I worked at did this, being the assistant manager I had to count it every night to find out how much had been stolen.
Depends on what state , eh.
Hi
I saw an alligator go into a Walmart
Wood bury common is New York
That's nothing. Entire buildings have been moved.
Their FIRST trip to the US was in 1992... yall a teacher and engineer? 😬
Here in California we pay $4.39 a gallon which is not cheap…
Thank you 🙏 for sharing ☝️everything what they said is true and I think it was over five years ago actually over ten years ago ⛽️ was just over a dollar 💵 specially this year every thing doubled 👋☮️
Michigan gas prices a pox $3.20 a gallon
Tented for termites
Okay, you can move here.
I am outside of Nashville, TN. Gas is $2.51 a gallon, up a dollar from 2021....I hear if they reopen the XL pipeline it could drop to around $1.00 a gallon...
her face watching this tells you everything.. she is not enjoying this couples video
Huh?!
Beesleys, they forgot to mention that it's crawlin' with 'gringos'.😀
The difficult thing about establishing the gas price is that 2 conversions are necessary; first is that the Canadian gallon is 4 liters as opposed to 4 pints in the US. Second is the currency conversion rate.
Gas is definitely cheaper outside of major cities, but it also varies from state to state. For instance, here in IL the price is higher. So, I don't gas up until I cross into the nearest state, if I'm driving outside of IL
Re. getting stared at for wearing shorts in 'cold' weather, the opposite happens when they're used to the hot, humid weather, and we're dying.
You may already know that Walmart is sometimes jokingly called Wallyworld.
Re. the flags, they must have been here during a holiday time, because normally there aren't that many flags even here.
I remember $1.49/ gallon gasoline with President Trump.
At one time in my state, beer sold in gas stations had less alcohol content. If I remember correctly it is termed 3.2 Beer.
Never heard of it
I live I sc and Myrtle Beach is not the best of SC
This video would be better if it as a comparison od their first time going to the US verses more recent times.
Canadians live in Canada. Not British.
It is hard for me to understand this couple as they talk SO SLOWLY! I'm not trying to be mean, it is just my point of view
