I think that on topics like this, people's motivation is to protect their preexisting beliefs- so the question Vaush and his audience has to ask is: must I agree with her and threaten my identity and jeopardize my place in this community? I have often wondered why so many of the most prominent TERFS are British, and I’ve come up with two possibilities that are not mutually exclusive (ie, they can both be true): Trans people can use NHS services to transition, whereas in America, the cost of transitioning is 100% on the person receiving the treatment; Britain has a disproportionate number of ugly people, and ugly people are more likely to be transphobic. And I know people are thinking of attractive Brits right now, but they’re all celebrities (actors, models, singers). If you’re an attractive Brit, they scoop you up quickly for one of those occupations because attractive people are in short supply.

The problem is that you think being trans is an innate and fixed characteristic whereas people like Helen think it is the result of an action (transitioning) and an attendant ideology (transitioned people are and should be treated as what they identify as). Nobody is born and forever destined to be trans which is why it is unlike any other civil rights movement. Dyphoria (possibly innate) is usually the cause with transitioning being assumed by many to be the only sensible course of action. I and others vehemently disagree. Currently the most effective treatment for gender dysphoria (not dysmorphia, they don't think their gender is the wrong shape) that we know of (and not for lack of searching, mind), is gender transition. If you can't grasp how "wanting fewer people that are _____" can actually be perfectly humane and well-intentioned - and decidedly NOT on the wrong side of history - then I don't know what to tell you. It is not the speakers fault that genocide isn't explicitly ruled out because that is absurd. The intention should be utterly obvious to anybody who is sane and even slightly intelligent.
The problem is that you think being trans is an innate and fixed characteristic whereas people like Helen think it is the result of an action (transitioning) and an attendant ideology (transitioned people are and should be treated as what they identify as). Nobody is born and forever destined to be trans which is why it is unlike any other civil rights movement. Dyphoria (possibly innate) is usually the cause with transitioning being assumed by many to be the only sensible course of action. I and others vehemently disagree. There is a better solution for all.
At the end of the day, It is not about harming or exterminating anybody. To think that's what Helen meant is to be disingenuous or daft. If anything, it is mass sterilization of those with dysphoria that is genocidal and ironically it is those who claim to support trans people who strongly advocate for this.
