    I got this book a while ago, it is amazing ! I feel like I learn something new each time I study it. The one question I cant find an answer to is, how do you know if these recipes are food safe? Thank you so much for showing those samples they are beautiful!

    Thanks for breaking the Ice a bit on the Glaze topic. Your videos are always fun and with something to learn. I'm buying this Mid Range- Glazes, John Britt's book.

    Thank you for the recipes! I am planning to buy this book. It is definitely well worth it. I am just beginning my journey with mixing my own glazes. I have had to order some raw materials from other suppliers because mine didn't have any in stock, but overall you can find anything on the internet. I had to buy my bakeware clay from Canada! Lol thanks again for sharing this info!!

    Thanks Justin. Great video. I also have the book and am a member of the Exploring Mid Range Glazes on facebook. You can type in most glazes on the search to the left and see if anyone else has tried that recipe. Thanks for sharing. I have made several of those recipes that you showed. Except the Noxema and the Ashleigh's rivulet. Thanks...keep the video's coming.

    Agreed! I really like his book. What white glaze recipe do you use? i thought i would find it here, but I didn't see you mention it. The white glaze you use looks great.

    Absolutely enjoyed this. It's great to get such detailed information WITH fired examples without trying to be a TH-cam 'charachter' with the usual cringy drama 😂

    Do you think you could do a video on starting a glaze kitchen? I’m curious as to what size containers are good to have for the dry stuff. Your containers seem small. I’m also mystified as to how to use triple beam, if your container won’t tare out the scale. Or if you add weights and a container, how to add/ subtract that.
    I’m really enjoying your approach to these videos. It’s great

    There is a great Facebook group called Exploring Mid Range Glazes together using John Britt’s book”
    John answers questions there and generously participates. It’s really a great place. Recommend you search the discussion before asking because many times your question has already been answered! 😁

    Good solid video on mid fire glazes, do you have a video on the secrets of setting up and firing an electric kiln?

    Hello Justin, i just wanted to let you know I love your videos. Thank you for taking us along for all your experiments!! I first came across you when I saw your pottery with the wooden lids - love! Then you made those awesome stamps for @jonthepotter. Which do you love more - wood working or pottery?? love your ceramic hammer - may have to get one of those from you - just because they are so awesome. but using the weed whipping potter - who would of thunk it?? can't wait to try your bottle top - great explanation! do you make custom ordered stamps? I am a very beginner potter who is only had one kiln opening - HA! gotta start somewhere. but really want to add a stamp to my pieces - still working out the idea.

    I am wondering why you fire to cone 5?

    • @JustinsMakery
      @JustinsMakery  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Early on I fired both Cone 5 and Cone 10 and saw little difference in the quality of the final product. Cone 5/6 fires quicker, cheaper, and is less hard on the kiln.

    • @JustinsMakery

      I did, but my clay body started bloating randomly, so I stick to Cone 5 for the Laguna B-Mix I use.
