You tell a story with out even saying a word!!!!! Thanks so much for taking us along on this amazing Canadian adventure!! The meal looked amazing Pete!!!!! Carolyn you should be very proud! Caroline your video and editing skills will take you far!!!! Dan I am impressed you carried Lando like a puppy down those stairs! Peter your children will do great!!!!! Those Towne girls better look out with 2 young Indiana Jones coming to town!!!!
Experiencing “Empty Nesting” pulls firmly on our emotions but it is the ultimate goal to see our children moving off onto their individual journeys. Sweet/sour event. Looking forward to watching their journeys as well.
Hi Im Jesse's wife Tanya. We both really enjoy watching your family. We are both happy and sad to see the children go. Happy that the children can begin to stretch their wings, but also sad, because we enjoyed watching them grow up. As empty nesters we totally understand what you're feeling. We hope that you will continue to post and camp. Hopefully someday we'll see you down the road.
Thank you Epic family! You guys have been so amazing to watch. I am into my 10 th day of isolation, simply put I escaped with you to a few of your adventures! These times are not easy but nature helps, so thank you for bringing that to me. I love your Jeep’s and it’s definitely on my bucket list. I purchased a CLAYMOREHeady2 thanks to your gear check. I am from Dubai! We do some camping in the desert, looking forward to one soon. Thanks once again. Take care and stay safe 🙏🏽👍🏽
I spent many summers exploring those very same spots. The next episode is going to get me in the feels, I know it. Thank Van Stralen family your love for family and adventure continue to inspire me.
I grew up around Horne Lake. The east side of the Island is IMO the best part of the Island. We're a lot drier than the west, which is the best thing, but the winds can be just as fierce as the west side, just not as constant. The Comox Valley is where I call home now.
Awesome meal Pete . Looking forward to seeing more adventures with you all . What a great learning chance for you three . Looking forward to seeing what you learn along this awesome new adventure you are starting . Cheers to a awesome family . Have really enjoyed your adventures . Thanks for sharing and taking us all along for the ride . From Steve Stott in Sutherlin Oregon U.S.A.
Such a pleasure for me to see families enjoying the outdoors together, and what a beautiful place this is! We never camped, but I wish we had. My children are all grown now, they’ve moved on with their lives. But we enjoyed travelling overseas many times together, and I have those wonderful memories to keep. Your dog must feel like the luckiest fellow alive! He certainly looks happy 😊
I think I can speak for everyone who watches you all by saying we appreciate more than you know watching a family full over love for each other living the life they love. God bless you all we sure think you’re pretty great !!!🥰❤️🇨🇦
My wife and I love watching you guys , We're campers too , we do camping like you in my 67 Vw Bus we love it , I also have a RV , we are from Hawaii but live in California , we learn alot from you guys , Thank you guys for this program , Be safe and Happy trail's and WE WILL SEE YOU DOWN THE ROAD .
When a was a kid in the late 70’s and 80’s I would drink freely from the creeks, rivers and streams and never gave it a second thought. My parents moved quite often and always to rural areas in Oregon and Northern California where we always seemed to live next to water. Those waters were never as crystal clean as we see here. And sometimes the water would taste funny but I never got sick. Oh how times have changed in so many ways but for the safety of us all. I would never allow my kids to roam freely as I once did.
I was a kid in the 60's and 70's in remote canada, we never drank the water from a river or creek without boiling it. Springs we did. But from rivers and more so creeks, it's not the pollution you need to worry about. It's that beaver upstream that should concern you. Shitting your brains out for a few days by catching Beaver fever( giardia) will change your mind on boiling the water first. It's no joke and has been around for a long time.
I still do but I'm on vancouver island where there's endless free running water that mostly just fell from the sky. Our land is so clean, that almost all flowing water is pure and safe.
Great episode , loved the area. Peters food looked amazing:) Hope you guys are ok.. watching your children leave is rough .. I know it is.. be safe .. don’t worry.. have fun..
As usual, the cinematography and music pairing is stellar! Nice job! Hopefully, one day we will get to come to Canada and visit these beautiful places.
Hi Lando you Good Boy !!! He's not going anywhere ! That was some really clear water he was drinking from. I feel the bittersweet episode coming up. Thanks from Colorado !
Another incredible video, unbelievably beautiful Mother Nature sceneries! As a diehard foodie, must say that the food scenes are equally as incredible from another perspective! Nothing can be more perfect than cooking in the outdoors with family. Been there done that! Thank you very much for sharing this video! All the very best with Pete Jr, Dan and Caroline on their new adventure!
As always really enjoyed the video, awesome looking meal Pete...and Dad said Mom taught you well, that’s totally passing the bar! Yes bittersweet episode next week, but wouldn’t miss it
Yep, u guys got me an my family into Overlanding!!!!! We got a Rubicon an meticulously pieced together our gear, an hit the Trail..... my 12 yr old daughter found u guys an we are modeled a lot like u guys.. great work as always, we will see u all on the trail soon enough
Ok I’ll confess, Did anyone else get a teary eyed? Anyone that has had kids to leave knows how it is. I’ve been watching you all for several years now and you all are truly a wonderful family. Anyhow watching from the WV and as always... Happy And many safe travels 😎
Hello again. You mentioned in this video you mark the camping spots but I didn't catch where you said you did that? Living in Parksville, I'd like to find some of those camping spots. Hope the kids make out great on their new adventure. This trip you have done with them seems to be leading them in their life path. So awesome!!
Love watching your channel. Navajo watching from Kuwait. Now back to work again. Lots of warm thoughts to you and your family. Please enjoy and safe travels in life.
I know people comment this all the time, but wow! The production quality of your videos are phenomenal! This was an amazing episode - the filming, the editing, the music, the content - well done, EFRT! 👏👏👏
You guys use the Backwoods Map Book ? The series make one for each major region of the Province. Show all the FSRs , campsites, lakes and fishing spots . Detailed write ups of the spots . Very handy and a good read too around the campsite. Great to have with no wifi. Got my butt out of the backwoods a few times . Peace and safe travels 🇨🇦✌
This may be one of my favorite episodes you’ve ever made. I can’t believe the kids are moving on! I guess they all do eventually. Best of luck to you all, I can’t wait to see the next episode.
This brought me a great deal of vicarious pleasure. I hope to do this with my wife and kids, before the kids get too old and get involved in the many life reasons not to do it...
There’s always a one epic family road trip even tho it’s not gonna be the same and not compete you guys can do a family camp once a year. We do have a n annual every year with the whole family gang but because of the situation we stop for now maybe when everything goes back to normal we don’t know when we will resume our annual camping. Life goes on and you guys can still enjoy life web if not complete. 🙏🏼
BREATHTAKING BEAUTY COLORS VIEWS SCENERY VIDEO WEATHER FOOTAGE LANDSCAPE & DRONE FOOTAGE ! AWESOME CAMERA 📷 FOOTAGE TOO ! HOPEFULLY THE KIDS HAVE A GREAT TIME & BE SAFE ! AMAZING 💧 FALLS & AREA . BE SAFE ! HAVE FUN ! GOD BLESS YOU ALL ALWAYS 🙏 ON YOUR JOURNEYS ! ENJOYED ! THANK YOU !
I had a friend that drummed for the punk rock band Curious George. He liked to surf and would make a trip to Tofino with his Transporter. He hit his girl friend on the head with his board when cresting. A few stitches was all.
I’ve always been curious about what you use to get damp firewood going. Once I tried boiling Vaseline and soaking it into cotton balls I never went back. Stays lit long enough to dry wood out. Plus it’s super cheap- in case you’ve never given it a shot. (Not that y’all appear to need help). Awesome video as always. Good luck to the kids!!!
We use a collapsible pocket bellows to help introduce air. I like their idea of a fan but less controlled. We use wood shavings from chainsaw work and candle wax, mixed up and poured into cardboard egg crates
Think of it as an opportunity not a separation... BTW I’m now really hungry because of all of those food shots. You folks cook up some great looking meals.
You have an outstanding family. 👍
Thank you for your kind words.
So glad I found your channel. Your family is an inspiration. I’m ditching my trailer and going to outfit my truck. Thanks for what you do!! Grants Pass Mark.

Terrific ep guys. Peter’s dinner made my mouth water. Got misty at the end with the preview of your goodbyes.
Glad you enjoyed Lawrence. Have a wonderful day.
Lando has the best life a dog could have. What a great backyard!
Glad you all got out together before the nest is empty for a while. Beautiful video! Great cooking Pete.

Giardia is no joke. Especially in the bush. Been there. (In BC).
@@k80bhappypaddler you got that right, anyone foolish enough to drink from a stream without boiling or purification are taking a big chance.
Great episode , loved the area. Peters food looked amazing:) Hope you guys are ok.. watching your children leave is rough .. I know it is.. be safe .. don’t worry.. have fun..
Congratulations, kids, and best of luck !!!
I know You will do great !!!!!!!!
