Britt I think the 1908 was one of the best releases with guilloche dial and platinum fairly priced. The Day Date were very nice also especially the Aqua mint dial.🤔The Yacht Master II range are discontinued. Never was big fan of them anyway.
All these videos missing that Deepseas are now no longer Sea Dwellers. "Sea Dweller" text remove from all Deepseas. Quite a move. Dials are now different
Ouuu thank you so much for pointing this out!!! Please do remember - the website hasn't been working!!! At least here in the UK - it's been extremely difficult to navigate!
I was really hoping for a blue BB54. Hopefully next year. Weirdly, the new BB58 GMT is a master chronometer, but the 18k gold 58 isn't. Maybe they'll build the METAS movement into the rest of the line next year.
I think you missed the big change for Rolex this year, namely the emphasis on GOLD. Gold is now $2350/0unce and is poised to go to $3000+ this year. And now the new gold Deep Sea, without the Sea Dweller text (Important for collectors because of the change in dials), is the biggest and heaviest gold watch Rolex makes. You could be your own central bank with that watch! The Yacht MasterII in gold was previously the heaviest gold watch. It is now discontinued. Why gold? Because the rest of the world is now hoarding it;)
They’ve got the blue dial day date rose gold without diamonds on the website. It’s immense, but it’s a 36 mm and cost more than a 41 mm date just in rose gold with Olive dial
Its official...Tudor is better in every way than Rolex (for people like us0. Rolex is now ONLY concerned with the highest profit margins and delivering ugly watches for people with too much money. RIP Rolex.
A few updates: Rolex Day-Date 36 in rose gold and aqua dial also comes with a fluted bezel which is STUNNING. Rolex Day-Date 40 in yg with a green ombrè dial and one in wg with a blue ombrè dial which is BEAUTIFUL. Rolex Daytona Le Mans and YM II discontinued.
Never understood Rolex, social symbol watches… completely lack of imagination nor soul 🤔 I had one of them, 30 years ago (submariner date), sold it and was really happy when buying an Omega Speedmaster with the money
Yep, kinda get what you're saying... The 'new' GMT looks great but so did the 2017 GMT with all black bezel. Love the full gold deepsea but that's so not in agreement with my bank account... 😄 But that new Tudor GMT... really like that although it maybe a bit too small for me... need to see that on my wrist.
LOL! YES IT IS! But it did give me a scare! When I was configuring the GMT, the Pepsi was at the very end haha! I ha da split second of thinking "OMG IT'S DISCONTINUED" hahaha!
That 1908 is gorgeous, but that’s for an old rich guy, not me. The gold deep sea is insane, I think you’d have to be about the size of a defensive tackle to pull it off. I like the black grey GMT on steel, maybe not as exciting as blue, red, or green, but sometimes you don’t need bright colors
Rolex, the art of putting different shades of lipstick on a pig whilst not realizing that they are devaluing the price of pork. Talk about turning your carnivore fan base into vegans
Its working now. Basically only the lazer dial DJ were discontinued. The DD 40 228238 got a new green dial ombre and mother of pearl. GMT are all the same except the new one. Celebration 41, 36, sprite and pepsi all still around. And the green DD 40. I think im gonna ask for a 41 celebration now and keep asking for the green DD instead of taking the white one offered to me last week.
To be honest… what bothers me most about the new GMT is the green hand and the text in the same color. I was actually thinking about kicking the Sub Date from my List an go for the new GMT but the green actually stopped me😂 Great video!!!
I wish they had more news especially in for watches under $20k. Love the new GMT black/grey. And I do love the new Day Dates. But the DeepSea in gold - how many people are buying that one. Thanks for your videos.
I wouldn't judge you but all those diamonds and gold....we've know where they were headed since 2019. But please give me 40K for that Day Date for the hombre black dial...
It's so weird that you skipped Zenith, the best new models at watches& wonders 2024! How could you not have discovered the first Zenith Defy diver watches and chronograph watches! I think Zenith is the best of the Watches & Wonders 2024
The main question is, why Rolex discontinued all motif dials except Celebration. Also do we know if emoji Day-dates been discontinued or not 🤔 Two important watches that no one is talking about.
This was the smartest release from Rolex in years. They can’t keep up with demand for 2014 models, let alone 2024. Do as much as you can without increasing production demand and focus what you do have already for people who are waiting
Rolex can bore off tbh. Don’t get me wrong I love quite a lot of their watches but the whole thing around the brand is just obnoxious in many ways, availability, new models blah blah blah. I wonder if any Rolex Execs are currently looking at Tudor and thinking, their stuff seems a bit more exciting ?
Why are you disappointed, Rolex does the bare minimum they can each year... They won't do anything out of the ordinary as they don't want to risk the customer base . Not a dig a Rolex just a fact their watches are so popular if prevents major changes
The reason it’s meh cuz you are not looking for AP or Patek … these releases are amazing if you want a higher end but with Rolex quality and not shit AP bulkiness or Patek being not water resistant …
100% anti-climax. Like the soft pfffft that sometimes happens when you make a big deal about popping a discount Prosecco cork then feel pathetic. As for the solid gold DS well, there’ll be some uneven muscular arms around. A bit like those on single guys…let the 2025 hype commence! 🎉
i am super annoyed, that they removed 2 beautiful dails from the datejust line but did not added something new. Especially the ladies models got ignored like always. i hoped for some new stone dials or gemstones 😢
I'm not trying to hate on Rolex. I respect the brand, the designs and would love to have an OP or Explorer myself. But that said... all "releases", all years are boring. All they do is change a) dial color, b) bezel color or c) material. What was the last time they actually came up with an actually NEW sport watch desgin? If it ain't broke don't fix it... but don't pretend you're fixing it either.
And worst offenders are the so called reviewers/experts on TH-cam praising the emperor's new clothes...bec many of them are in on the ponzi game already... can't stop the hype, otherwise...
I love the fine watch brands do not behave as apple, we dont need every year to be the most exciting year ever… yet. They behave with much more elegance than that! A little color and materials update its absolutely fine
Rolex releases a new watch: "rolex is so boring this year" Rolex releases the same watch, and only changes the color of the bezel: "omg so exciting this year!!"
It's like they've become allergic to money, though. Like obviously they still make more money than I'll ever see my entire life, but because they have seemingly no intention of listening to their audience it's like they've become allergic to it.
I think a few people who have the means to buy high five figure watches… they only ever look to Rolex. They’re not in the slightest interested in watches or horology. It’s purely a “ I’ve made it “ Which is fine you can understand that. Some will buy purely as investments… Rolex I think really cater to these people. They know they don’t have to do much at all and there’ll ALWAYS be a waiting list.
Let's work out the percentage of the world's population that is in the market to buy a Rolex...just for a full-on relatable comment. I'm one btw...in Jan I bought a new gold SMP at a 36% discount for £17.25k...cash, not finance. I really want a new Rolex but I will NEVER buy a one at over RRP - full fucking stop!
Honestly, I'm kind of glad nothing was released this year that I just HAVE to have. I'm already 3 watches deep on my wishlist, I don't need to add another. Lol.
Very disapointed 😢😶😶 the only ones I would buy and maybe I will are the new fumé dials available on the 36mm Daydate without Diamond indexes, the full gold blue Deepsea is cool as it gets but let's face it to me it would be a safe queen since there is no way my wrist can handle it. I wish there was a new Millegaus 😑 and as you were saying in your last video something around the 36mm Explorer, full gold or white dial, was the watch I was hoping to be on the waitlist. Yes the Tudor BB58 GMT is their best sport watch release
Right, so I played with the configurator on their site (which is now working) and you *can* get that blue-green dial on a 36 Day-Date without the diamond bezel (so with a fluted bezel) but you have to accept diamond indices, which I'm not a big fan of but might be willing to accept after seeing it in person (if you can tell that those are diamonds from more than a foot away, I don't want it).
While Rolex' releases don't make for catchy headlines in the enthusiast community, I think they are well thought out. After crazy 2023 (bubbly, puzzly dials, emoji wheels, open casebacks, new dress watch line, out of schedule Le Mans release, Bucher acquisition...) it had to go quieter. And while the 1908 was almost a bit overshadowed last year, I think this year it got its room to shine and be appreciated. The mop daytonas will sell with superclients and the wish for a dialed down mop daytona variant might grow in the wider public, so an option for the future. A clunky full gold watch isn't misplaced either regarding the current attention to gold assets atm. But yeah, I certainly hope for a catchier next year:)
Disappointed Tudor retained the god-awful faux riveted bracelet on the 58 GMT. Crying out for a jubilee with T-fit. Not a fan of the gold accents either.
@@AnotherDaveInParadise maybe it’s to keep cost down, not sure, or just to differentiate a little from the non-precious metal versions. But, assuming you get 10-15% discount…. Not a bad price for a full gold, well built diver (if that’s your thing).

The bruce wayne GMT is definitely on my radar so I'm happy it was released, also can't believe how fast these watches pick up their nicknames online😂..
I do agree that the Rolex wasn’t very exciting this year, but that’s totally ok. When a company continually chases the spotlight and praise a few things can happen. Continual “wow” products can get over saturated, over shadow previous products, and shorten interest in previous releases. Building hype on hype will lead to the market bursting sooner. Just some of my thoughts.
Whilst underwhelming overall, the 1908 with the ice blue guilloche dial is gorgeous. Made even better by knowing that it’s not a pressed dial, but done by a proper artisan on a rose engine ❤
BP. Thanks! I have left loads of comments on various websites (so you can check!). My predictions were more precious metals, and more shiny watches. I also predicted that the Pepsi would continue on the website / in the catalogue, but effectively wouldn't be available. TBH, I did say that the 1908 range would be extended with a whole new model........... but they just made a Pt one instead!?! So half points there.
First time Rolex didn’t have a thing for me. Boring. Pretty much all stuff that will be super high price point or impossible to get. New Tudor GMT ftw.
Tudor got the Coke GMT. Ha! Regarding Rolex, the big news is that they decided to focus and rollout watches at the expensive end of the spectrum. [Insert your joke here.]
Maybe it's just a trick of the light, but it looks to me like the James Cameron has a touch more blue and just a little less black on the dial. I'm starting to save.
Oh no…. I agree Britt!! Such a shame!! I’m heading out to W&W!!! But I will be an explorer - but not a Rolex explorer!!! Oh… the Daytona gem sets would have made more sense last year!!! If they were an anniversary collection then they could have been more special 🙏🎉
@@watchpapi yes mate! Can’t distract from the open case back play ha ha I just love a story and if they were anniversary collection - then it would have added to the story (and maybe the resale value)!! Hope you enjoy this week in the way the papi of watches should 🎉🕺
Grand Seiko has a manual winding titanium dress watch with a 80 hour power reserve 38.6 mm case that’s 10 mm for 1/3 the price of that 1908. It’s a new movement so they’ll be adding new dials soon if you don’t like the birch. Like Tudor, they are developing new movements (Rolex doesn’t because it’s complacent).
Britt I think the 1908 was one of the best releases with guilloche dial and platinum fairly priced. The Day Date were very nice also especially the Aqua mint dial.🤔The Yacht Master II range are discontinued. Never was big fan of them anyway.
Finally some craftmanship injected into a precious metal Rolex to match the premium price, good move!

Right? The only interesting one is the 1908 & let's be honest, nobody goes to Rolex for a dress watch.

I’m pretty sure the majority of people only like the classic Rolexes anyways. Don’t know anyone who looks forward to their releases at W&W 🤷♂️

@Britt Thoughts on the bonkers Santos Dumont Rewind? Love the Santos dual time.
She’s filming again, but I can tell you… she’s a fan!
Tudor stole the show again. That little coke GMT is 2 mm thinner than their 41 mm.
Agreed!! The MOP dials and all the diamonds but I’m guessing they didn’t want to detract from the movement upgrade and platinum.
@@watchpapi yes mate! Can’t distract from the open case back play ha ha I just love a story and if they were anniversary collection - then it would have added to the story (and maybe the resale value)!! Hope you enjoy this week in the way the papi of watches should 🎉🕺
Rolex is not only now getting boring or gaudy its massively ubiquitous.
Rolex wearers = sheep.
You forgot posers
Grand Seiko has a manual winding titanium dress watch with a 80 hour power reserve 38.6 mm case that’s 10 mm for 1/3 the price of that 1908. It’s a new movement so they’ll be adding new dials soon if you don’t like the birch. Like Tudor, they are developing new movements (Rolex doesn’t because it’s complacent).
They also have a platinum one… it’s over double the price of the Rolex… 🤷🏻♂️
Rolex 2024: Be thankful we didn't give you a GMT in POOP COLOURED BROWN.
Can’t wait for your Tudor video!!!!
Extremely underwhelming
