    Hey brother, glad your stuff survived. As a Canadian I can tell you, Nanuk is a Canadian Company that is WELL known for their super high quality up here in the north. Snow, rain, dust, drops, even a lake, the case will keep your stuff safe. As good as you can get. Also, the "nuk" part rhymes with book. I promise im not the pronunciation police, just passing it on. Cheers man!

      Hahaha oh god I wish I knew that’s how it was pronounced before I made this 😂😂😂. Well guess I’ll pin this comment!!!! Thanks for the info man!! Over here I’ve only really heard of pelican, glad I went with the Nanuk!!

    My experience with Nanuks has been painless but IMO my general mantra is “less moving parts means less things that can go wrong” which I why I stuck with Pelican; I got a sky blue 1510.
    Again, the hundreds of thousands of miles I’ve traveled with Nanuks and Pelicans with tens of thousands of pounds of cinematography and drone gear haven’t broken neither the Nanuk or Pelican. Both are tanks.
    Congrats on the Nanuk, Cam. Keep it up!

    I bought the Nanuk 935 a few years ago and I've been nothing but impressed with it.

    I love the Nanuk. The lid organizer is the best I've used for a great length of time, the padded dividers are high quality and the case is just a smart, extremely heavy durable design. I considered buying another pelican but - when I compared side to side a few years back and having used both now -- no way I'd buy a brand just for the name. I got mine on sale at a famous NYC store for $170 usd a few years back, for the exact model you have, it included the lid organizer. Since it was my first time buying the brand -- I waited to make sure it stood the test of time. Once it proved itself to be as durable and heavy duty as the pelican with the added bonus of great accessories - I picked up 3 more in different colors so now my audio, video, digital stills and film gear is in their own assigned color. The pad locks from Nanuk are also great, I use these when traveling. Only bad thing is that I didnt get the additional 3 nanuks for the crazy great deal I paid for the first. Oh well. 🤗

    Hey, I'm glad you went with the nanuk. No joke I had the same experience with my case rolling down a hill and having those clamps lock in place saved so much equipment.

    Hey man love the insight on the Nanuk, I’m currently rocking a Peli Air 1535 with trek pak dividers and I got to tell you that is light years ahead of the 1510, I can’t compare it to the nanuk since I haven’t tried one, but I would really recommend you change the 1510 for a 1535. Glad your gear is safe after such a drop, keep the great content coming.

      @@Burritosarebetterthantacos the case or the dividers? The dividers are amazing and fit my gear like a well suited glove. If you are referring to the case I can say its amazing, been through some rough terrain and ti held up amazingly well. I would be confident enough that if the case falls with my gear inside that everything would survive the fall.

    I see Pelican is real industrial case that is designed & developed tough for every situation from carrying photography staff to military, kayaking , fishing... etc where as Nanuk is just a sealed hard case ... every moving part or mechanism in such cases in my view is a failure point so if you look at the trolley in Nanuk which for many is an advantage, I see it adding weak / failure points .. imagine using this in tough environment sand , salt water ..etc same applies for the closing system , wheels .. also the material of Pelican is more tough , when you see slightly used Nauks you will find scratches , snips ... on the other side Pelican case that is used for years can still appears good with little signs of wear ... conclusion in my view Pelican is the real industrial case , only negative is it weight... note : Pelican Air for me is the same like Nanuk , Pelican protector is one

    • @cammackey
      @cammackey  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I disagree 100%. This case rolled down a steep rocky hill in Malibu on a shoot, all my gear was it in. Everything was just fine. Barely a scratch. And I’ve used it in the desert extensively

    • @taylorhickman84
      @taylorhickman84 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Though the pelican plastic is thicker and feels more rigid, it is prone to cracking from airline luggage handlers. Thankfully pelican has a great warranty, at work we have a few warrantied each year. I just bought a Nanuk and right away could tell the plastic is softer and feels less robust, but I think it is a reasonable tradeoff for a lighter weight case. At the end of the day it was the latches that led me to Nanuk, the pelican latches aren't very stealthy in regards to nature photography.
