thanks so much for this video!! I was only aware of Pelican cases. But now this gave me more options to figure out what case is best for me!! The Nanuk pull out handle is 10x better than the pelican one. The pelican one seems so outdated.
glad the video was resourceful! I will say the trekpak although more expensive and not as customizable is a deeper organizer system and lets you fit more things so one thing to keep in mind
after i used the nanuk 935 for a year now there are two things i dislike: the distance between the wheels makes the case unstable and wobble and sometime event fall/roll over to the side. also because of the design of the big handle, there is just so much space wasted! there is very little space on the inside of the case, so i am still not sure i would chose this over the pelican 1510
The GM 24-70 standing upright is quite a lot taller than the padded insert. Will a laptop also fit in the lid pocket with the lens upright or do you have to store it laying down?
yeah it wasn't the best example lol I definitely recommend placing the lenses down if youre using the padded insert. this is still where the trekpak has the edge over the padded insert
is the laptop part soft inside ? is it padded? or is it hard in plastic ? and how has it held up till now, I'm very very close to buy one but this is very important to me because it is expensive.
I don't personally know why you're putting your high value lens in like that. It's sticking out of the case which when you close the top, its adding so much unnecessary pressure. I have been in this industry for 19 years and have learned the hard way, to NEVER add unnecessary pressure to a piece of gear, especially when traveling.
yeah I do think its better made and designed however i now have a trekpak insert in my nanuk as you can pack a lot more stuff than the padded dividers so that'd be my only suggestion
You start this video just bashing the Pelican case... The Nanuk isn't as study and is smaller on the inside. Nanuk sent you that case for free, didn't they? 😂
I have. I was on two small domestic flights serparately to Ohio and Alabama and the planes were so small you couldnt' really fit any carry on bags up top. So I always have a book bag now to fit my main stuff just in case
→ Check out my video of the giant Pelican 1650 w trek pak where I fit my entire package in one camera case: geni.us/BwsLEXe
This is great. Was contemplating between getting the Pelican 1510 or Nanuk 935, definitely will be getting the Nanuk now.
Thanks!
Glad it was helpful !
I have the nanouk case in my Amazon cart and so glad to find your video. I’m halfway watching your video and ready to hit the buy button 😊 thank you!
glad I could help!

@@MateoToro you should move the trekpak over to the nanuk. Lol. I saw people who did home made trekpak. That way you can add more to it.
@@eatermckinnon4644 im too lazy for the diy but soon i will deff get a trekpak for it
Im sold on the Nanuk. Thanks!
Nanuk is an amazing case.
Thank you for making this video! Definitely going for the Nanuk 935 over the Pelican! You are a top bloke! 🤗
glad it could help!
Self made trek pack is definitely better. Just make town sets for 1535 air cases and it was $50 and I have enough left over for a small case
I don’t got time for diy projects and a lot of people don’t either
Nanuk 935 is pricey but as gigs increase it seems very much worth it.
I just bought mine. I'm very excited!
Hope you enjoy it!
I wished I knew sooner about Nanuk! I'm stuck with Peli for now..
Pelican is still fine regardless still have a lot of their cases!

I got that pelican its not bad just wish It was a tad bigger. The nanuk looks super nice though
there's bigger pelicans but obviously I dont think their carry on rated. yeah the nanuk is really nice!
Great videos. A friend back in the day was beta testing the trek paks and I always thought they were not a flexible or cheap solution.
Thank you for watching! It’s definitely a marketing ploy nothing special about em, but they are a Little bit less flimsy then regular padding
Thanks for this comparison!
Glad it was helpful !
@@MateoToro 100% I just purchased the Nanuk 935!

Great video to get the actual size and quality nice.
Do you have a Sony 200-600mm to show howmuch space it takes up in the kit?
I don’t have one
i want the nanuk to use as a carry on for just clothes honestly so tired of breaking cases
Thats definitely a valid option lol
Your 1510 looks cool and the 935 looks like a Plano box.
Yeah cause of the stickers lol
@@MateoToroNah, the Nanuk is a clone of the Pelican...
@@lbeetech duh it’s a comparison video lmao

its not padded but its not hard either . ive been using it for two years everything still intact and i travel a lot for work

What is the tallest (or longest) lens this case can comfortably fit upright?
great video bro, does the trekpak fits the Nanuk935 ?
yeah they do ive seen some people online rig theirs out with them
You can make your own Trekpak-type dividers. It is very easy.
tnx
What is that lens cover you have on your 24-70? Where can I get it at?
its polar pro defender cover its amazing!
Great video. How do you feel about the Nanuk 935 after some time? Still better than the 1510?
yeah I do think its better made and designed however i now have a trekpak insert in my nanuk as you can pack a lot more stuff than the padded dividers so that'd be my only suggestion
Oh snap!! So trek pak is awesome?! Which one did you buy for the nanuk ? I know it’s not native to nanuk since pelican owns them
@@MateoTorodid you buy one if so where or DIY?
Do you reckon a FX9 will fit in that?
yeah it definitely will my fx6 fits nicely in mine
What color way is this? Olive?
Yeah I believe so
Can i fit c70?
Yeah I fit my fx6 no problem
@@MateoToro thank you 😊
Is the 935 allowed as a carry on?
yup its a carry on size
Nanuk is what you think pelican would be. Pelican has just been around longer
You start this video just bashing the Pelican case... The Nanuk isn't as study and is smaller on the inside. Nanuk sent you that case for free, didn't they? 😂
Idk how you came to that conclusion lol
@MateoToro The first few sentences were bashes against the Pelican case...
Yup the nanuk wastes a tonnn of space with unnecessary thickness on the outside, pull out handle etc.
Ever have an airline give you an issue carrying on either of these cases and storing in the overhead bins?
I have. I was on two small domestic flights serparately to Ohio and Alabama and the planes were so small you couldnt' really fit any carry on bags up top. So I always have a book bag now to fit my main stuff just in case
Disagree with most of what is being said here. To each it's own...
You are biased and unconvincing. You praise Nanuk because you benefit from it. Over time, you will realize that Nanuk is a toy and Peli is .. Peli.
3 years later I’m still benefitting from it 🤔
