I'm new to mig welding. I was running too hot with the wire speed too low and clogged my tip. When I took the tip off about half an inch of liner jumped out. It won't push back in and I can't screw a new tip on. Should I remove the big base tip and cut the liner back or is there something more sinister going on? Thanks for your time.
HI LIKED YOUR VID I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF IT WOULD BE OK TO CUT THE EXTRA LINE WITH A DIE GRINDER CUT OFF WHEEL INSTEAD OF CUTTERS DO YOU THINK IT WOULD MAKE A CLEANER CUT ??
so I had a question. I have a wire feed welder and I was welding and something happened and it bent the wire and it got stuck inside the gun so I can't get it out and I can't force wire through it to get it out. What would you suggest I do?
If your wire cannot be removed from the gun liner, replace the liner. Remember new liner are usually oversize and need to be neatly trimmed to fit. I don't use snips on liners. A cutting disk in an angle grinder makes a nice smooth cut. Liners are cheap so if you buy one, buy a second as shop stock and you won't lose time if you need to replace in the future.
Have u tried to grasp the welding wire from the torch tip first. Then cut Wire off spool and grasp wire with pliers snd pull from that side till it comes out
This video is no good because you missed a step is there something that needs to be loosened on the inside of the welder to release the liner or you just start yanking it and it'll come out? Like loosening the little butterfly thing that's on the feeder inside the welder.
Visit the Weldingweb or Miller forums (much better than TH-cam) and post your specific make and model, preferably with a pic of the gun because there are different types and they need to see if you are missing a part.
Thanks for the video. Quick question. Is this pretty much the same for a Lincoln Weld Pak?

Please help! My liner is sticking out of the end and my nozzle won’t go on.... it’s a brand new machine and never been used... HELP.

Ob Fuscated I got it. It was stuck on something in the gun so it wouldn’t go back in. Took the mig gun apart slightly and fixed it.
