She said holding her sword makes things clearer so I think that's when she remembers what she's done. So the calm, polite and aloof but friendly Acheron we first meet must be the "normal" her. I think the alter ego is just a split personality that sometimes takes over and makes Acheron forget - remember, when we first met Acheron, she talked about having a bad memory. Anyhoo.
I just arrived at the hotel, I've heard penacony is really good and deppressing, and it's written by the same dude who wrote the himeko arc and final lesson in honkai impact, if that's true? If you start playing HSR, don't worry about the limited time events! The ones with storylines are permanent (you do miss out of some limited time rewards, but it doesn't affect the story at all!) Just play at your own pace :)
You always join the games at the most opportune times lol. First, you joined Genshin when it was in its first anniversary and now Star Rail. HSR is entering it's 1st anniversary soon, they will essentially give out 30 pulls in the next patch. With the Honeymoon Period for new players, you are basically guaranteed a 5 star in 2.1, the beginner banner also gives a 5 star after 50 pulls which you'll get after a few days.
after Jingliu's trailer you went back to look if she was the lady from the first short (she is!), but both of the characters in that short were ALSO in the start of Imbibitor Lunae's animated short as his past-life's friends
The annihilation gang is group we saw a few trailers ago. The one where the boss was the guy with the horned skull for a head. This is so recent it's new for us as well. When we saw the trailer we assumed that they will be the main villains of this arc. But apparently she already killed the boss? We don't know anything 😅
You really seemed to like Jing Yuan, so I would recommend starting playing within the week, because his banner is running right now and likely won't be back for a while.

I don't know how I never realized how jarring the switch up between the loufu/belobog arc and the penacony arc is. In game and if you're up to date we all know we're going to the planet of dreams and festivities but like from his perspective we're fighting gods and mechs and stuff and then we're fighting tvs with legs and trash cans.

my personal theory for Acheron is that she is the emanator for nihility. 2 reasons are, you see IX in the animated short and that Duke Inferno was no match for her that she didn't care to remember killing him
Well Duke Inferno was no match for most emanators in the first place, mix in the fact that we're talking about a Raiden Mei here (Seriously though all Meis end up being canonically broken. One awakened as the Origin, another sliced a mountain in half just to kill a sea serpent, and Acheron clearly has ties to a similar fate as Earth where they failed to save Izumo while Earth was saved by Kiana, Mei and Bronya) He probably stepped on a landmine and got a quick 1000 slices from her katana. Seeing what happened to Ifrit, his children probably ran like hell.... no pun intended of course Edit: It'd be cool now that Ifrit is dead, that his children filled with rage finally gain the gaze of Nanook to go on a warpath. That'd be a sweet storyline
I know this is unrelated to the video but back in October you reacted to The Amazing Digital Circus and loved it and I think it would be so awesome to see you react to their other show Murder Drones especially with the new episode coming out at the end of this month! It's a super lore heavy show that I can see you getting really invested in!
The Penacony stuff is so weird because most of Penacony's story is set inside a collective dreamscape, where constraints of reality don't always apply. Things can happen that wouldn't be possible anywhere else. The dev team took full advantage of it, making puzzles that rely on forced perspective and optical illusions

There was one more animated short featuring Clockie that you skipped over. You did the first one which was the penacony travel promotional video. But there is a second one titled "welcome to dreamville" I'm suprised nobody else mentioned it. Also please do the rest of the keeping up with Star Rail. I love them so much with all the little jokes they put in with owlbert. And it introduces you to the 4* characters since they unfortunately don't get much spotlight in the rest of the trailers.

It's an easy way to use narrative structural devices associated with highway networks (for example, consider how the "Knight Rider" show depended on an vaguely defined map filled with small communities which were technically connected to the rest of the world but certainly without connection at the level of an Internet search engine so information travels much, much slower than people) or trains (regular periods of near-complete isolation from the outside world without being necessarily in any danger due to this), gives you science fiction tropes to play around with, and lets you avoid all the issues with space travel like hard vacuum.
Wow, that was great. :) I think the choice to omit the explanation trailers was a good one, since it's a gacha, you'll probably never ever get to own and use some of the characters, so learning about them doesn't seem like a high priority. 👍 But I'd still watch a future reaction video on them.
I can't wait to see u give this game is a go, i'm sure u will have a blast and just in time for 2.1 as well wich is the Anniversery update! Don't be suprised if u don't understood all of it since the Myriad Celestia trailers are meant for world building and u need at least have played some of the game to get a feel for it. As for the Keeping up with Star Rail videos, here's a suggestion, why not take a look at the main site's character section and select a few who u'd think would be cool to play and make a list from that. Keep in mind that 4 star characters might not have a video about them though most have at this point aside from the ones that the game launched with. Anyway, hope u have fun and hope u enjoy your dive into the Honkaiverse!
To clear up a couple of things regarding the most recent short, Black Swan is a “Memokeeper” meaning she keeps records of and can peek into people’s memories. She tried peeking into Acheron’s memories to supposedly figure out what has happened to the Annihilation Gang and her involvement in the death of Duke Inferno, Ifrit. At the end of the 2.0 story quest it is mentioned by another character that (in the least spoilery way I can possibly put it) Acheron is a lot more dangerous than she appears and just being near her would put your life at risk. Acheron when we meet her in game appears to have a terrible memory forgetting many details and forgets even how she got here. In the 2.1 trailer she states ‘It’s only when the sword is unsheathed, that those hazy memories start to become clearer’ implying that her sword seals her memory in some way. (That last part was more of an educated guess)
You really have to watch all Honkai impact 3rd animations, the newer ones are really good my favorites are "Because of you" and "Thus spoke apocalypse" as well as the ones you missed last time like "Lament of the fallen"

Don't be suprised if u don't understood all of it since the Myriad Celestia trailers are meant for world building and u need at least have played some of the game to get a feel for it.
As for the Keeping up with Star Rail videos, here's a suggestion, why not take a look at the main site's character section and select a few who u'd think would be cool to play and make a list from that.
Keep in mind that 4 star characters might not have a video about them though most have at this point aside from the ones that the game launched with.

Acheron is basically the death itself, her name basically one of deity in underworld according to Greek mythology
To clear up a couple of things regarding the most recent short, Black Swan is a “Memokeeper” meaning she keeps records of and can peek into people’s memories. She tried peeking into Acheron’s memories to supposedly figure out what has happened to the Annihilation Gang and her involvement in the death of Duke Inferno, Ifrit. At the end of the 2.0 story quest it is mentioned by another character that (in the least spoilery way I can possibly put it) Acheron is a lot more dangerous than she appears and just being near her would put your life at risk. Acheron when we meet her in game appears to have a terrible memory forgetting many details and forgets even how she got here. In the 2.1 trailer she states ‘It’s only when the sword is unsheathed, that those hazy memories start to become clearer’ implying that her sword seals her memory in some way. (That last part was more of an educated guess)
I don’t know if you caught it, but Black Swan is voiced by Arryn Zech, the voice of Blake Belladonna from RWBY.

You really have to watch all Honkai impact 3rd animations, the newer ones are really good my favorites are "Because of you" and "Thus spoke apocalypse" as well as the ones you missed last time like "Lament of the fallen"

yeah there is fair amount of mini games... Treasure to find and tons of NPC quests in that Penacony area.
saying again just in case, if you start playing within the next couple days you get a free 5 star but it only lasts about a week more so if you want it I would start very soon cause if you wait to the 28th you will miss out as of me writing there is little under 6 days left
