I was worried that adding Omega to the show would hurt it since when most shows have a child character, they tend to be too annoying and drag down the show, but I'm glad to see that Omega is actually a decent character and I get the feeling she'll only improve in each episode.
Much like Ashoka was developed. In the beginning, she was cocky, arrogant and annoying but she matured and developed throughout time and I see this happening with Omega
@@vedangsinghal3038 Yeah she has her moments where she is frustrated and just getting in the way of the squad, but hopefully next ep we will find out more about her and make her more of an interesting character. Personally I quite like her as a character, considering her being a female clone and raised by Nala se
After Ahsoka and Grogu, how could you have any doubts? I’m surprised you don’t trust Filoni with child characters by now. One of the only things I don’t trust him with are stormtroopers, since he uses them for cheap gags instead of competent enemies.
The whole transition feels so creepy. It's weird seeing the clones in their clone armor behave and act like stormtroopers (like the protocols and being a bad guy). It's really well done tho!
The clone army did have protocols. We just saw a lot of stories with Anakin (and Ahsoka and R2 who reflected his personality), who was more than willing to discard and disregard protocol when it suited his purpose.
It's a whiplash for the audience because we all saw, bonded with, and came to love the clones' characterizations throughout the Clone Wars. Now, they act like stormtroopers due to the Chips basically killing their personalities. It's been done amazingly, and it's corrected the issue a lot of fans had with the Legends' interpretation (no Chip; the clones were just programmed and would activate any Orders when prompted without hesitation), if not surpassing it (due to the tragedy of what's happened to them).
@@KimPossibleShockwave I still hate the chips, order 66 was way more interesting when it was just an order that the clones were given and they had to decide if they were going to go against their code “good soldiers follow orders” and help their Jedi escape or do what they’ve been doing all war and follow orders. Imagine that conversation that Rex and That clone at the end of season 7 except everywhere between tons of clones, it would be so much more interesting than just “oh their droids now”
@@snusemcgoose1001 I disagree, very few clones would ever follow that order. It won't make any sense. The clones would never willingly turn on their heroes and generals. Do you honestly think Plo's Boys would suddenly turn on their General? The guy who told them they are all unique and special? Same with Yoda and others. Most Jedi weren't like Krell, most were somewhere between Obi-Wan and Anakin, they bonded with their clones (even Jedi like Luminara and Ki-Adi Mundi who were more distant had earned their troops' full respect and admiration. It just wouldn't work. Not with the whole philosophy behind this show, which humanizes the clones.
I like what they did to wrecker this episode. In the trailers I thought he might be overly annoying portraying the big strong dummy but he’s actually a damn good soldier and always alert. Great episode ✨
Yeah in my head that's kind of the point where she stops being CT-9905(her most likely clone ID number) and truly becomes Omega, I wouldn't be surprised at all if the adult clones get a similar scene at some point where they essentially let go of their identity as "clone troopers" and essentially create a new identity for themselves.
i think throughout the series, seeing the clones just turn into stormtroopers is going to be even more heartbreaking than it already has been in this episode
I love how good a job they do with filming Hunter. The different camera angles showing the two different sides of his face depending on what kind of scene it is is brilliant
I just feel like she wants to stay with hunter and the bad batch because they're the only people she can relate to, as one of the 5 "defective" clones I'd imagine she'd rather stay with them over cut
wait wait, hold up a sec... did a little clone kid just get more character development in two episodes of a cartoon than Rey, Finn and Poe had combined in the entire Sequel Trilogy?
I think Omega was really cute. When they arrived on Saleucami, she had never seen simple things such as dirt before, because she only know her life on Kamino. (reminded me of Merrin in Fallen Order, there is dialogue with her talking about how Bogano feels strange and new to her, because she’d only seen Dathomir before). I also love Cut, just a simple man trying to make his way in the universe, by just having a simple life. Despite the slower pace, it was a really nice episode. I can’t wait to see our good old captain Rex again. (Assuming that is indeed going to happen, I definitely think it will)
I've been asking people is there anything in each three films that is universal loved liked the prequels film. I haven't found anything yet for the sequels that is universal loved by the fans.
It was emotional building for me and I really like Omega, she isn't that emporewed girl child, she's just a kid who is curious about everything and saw a connection with the bad batch. I'm really impatient to find out what happen's next week !
She probably is an empowered character, we don't know what her mutations are yet. Itll really piss me off if she just ends up being another Mary Sue that can defeat anyone for no reason.
@@yigit2223 hopefully she's not. Or if she is hopefully her powers aren't released till the end of the series, in some penultimate conclusion to the bad batch squad. It'll piss me off if she just become another overpowered SJW character

Loved seeing Cut Lawquane again, hope it’s not the last time either! Loved the episode, it really has a great amount of emotion I wasn’t expecting and I love that - Cannot wait for more!
My theory is that Order 66 triggered the Clones “Factory Reset Setting”, hence rather than being battle-harden veterans of the Clone Wars, they now are as if they were “Shinies” or even more inexperienced. Simply robots.
I don't think so. They were still very competent in season 7 and managed to hunt down jedi across the galaxy. They seem weak in this show because of the bad batch. They are just better. Even Echo who isn't modified still is an arc trooper.
@@woahwoah2207 Might be, but Echo doesn’t have the chip anymore. Also my theory explains why Crosshair is such a bad shot now. Ofc it is simply plot armor but it’s fun to come up with in-universe reasons for it
Instead of a factory reset, its more of a suppression imo. The limited degree of freedom due to the strict adherence to protocols makes them “robotic”. However, these clones are still human and the rationalization of each action will create tension and thereby decrease efficiency. The clones we know and love are experienced due to the many free decisions they can make and thus build individual personalities (along with the influence of the Jedi they serve under). Once that freedom and connection got lost and manipulated as betrayal, you get mindless drones that are somehow worse at doing their jobs. I mean… imo.
@@MajorBsItaliaBricksIT Crosshair is still very accurate. We see him it some good shots in the short fight scene at the end of episode 1, but he was definitely slow on pulling the trigger.
I was concerned when I saw omega in the trailers but she's quickly become one of my favorite characters. I really like the chemistry she has with hunter.
This episode was brilliant for world building, showing the transition from the republic to the empire. It also showed some character development with Hunter at the end he treat her like a child rather than a soldier. Plus it was great to see how Cuts story ended. I’d give the episode a 7/10
SW does a good job at making filler episodes worthwhile! Like you said the world-building in this episode is insane and explains a lot of the small things that are going on. SW made me enjoy filler episodes and animes like Naruto made me hate them lol.
This episode and series highlights why I love Filoni's storytelling/projects. Nothing is waisted. All best content comes back into play. Old Characters we loved, Legends material never forgotten, Classic Worlds visited, Droids we remember, Aliens, Video games we loved, etc. He always stay true keeping GL's legacy alive. Also I really enjoy the post Clone War's/Revenge Of The Sith world building. And I really appreciate the story development in this episode. This series setting is perfect. Can't wait to see where it goes cause the possibilities are endless.
One thing that occurred to me after episode one was maybe the “bad batch” wasn’t actually a a bad batch. Maybe the kaminoans purposefully made these clones, trying to enhance them and make them immune to certain functions from their inhibitor chips. Like an Alpha version of the clones from the Kaminoan rebellion against the empire, for example. Just a theory. I don’t think they were made on accident
I really am enjoying the relationship with Hunter and Omega, she seems to really idolize him even before he met her. I do hope that we continue developing that relationship, but also I would like to see Omega develop a relationship with all the Bad Batch members.
this! It’s all too similar to the Mandalorian. We don’t need another “guy becomes the father role of kid he adopted” i mean c’mon, is that everything you can come up with? At least grogu was cute and not too annoying cause he couldn’t talk and was more of a baby. But omega is super childish even though she is like 11. Plus she seems to have special talents, another copied trait of grogu.
Imagine having a rogue Special Ops team forge space documents for your family. It's like if SEAL team helped smuggle you onto a Nasa space launch to a Mars colony.
Maybe she hasn't got accelerated aging, because we don't know if she was created with the other clones or not. If she was created with the bad batch, she might not have accelerated aging.
Omega has the ability of every bad batch person proof her "lucky shot" in episode 1 and she was looking over at tech coding into the chain codes like she knew what he was doing
Could be right. Omega means last, I think. Could be she has all of the abilities. Or hear me out this is a long shot, she was made to create more clone children. That's a long shot by a million miles. I suggest this because the Caminoans didn't suppress the clones' ability to mate etc... But my knowledge is rusty. And that seems gross now that I think of it. Anyways Carry on.
@@aidanlucas6545 No she isn't. The movie sucked and made no sense. She's probably going to be cold and alone for the rest of her life or be possessed by the sith. Having all the skywalkers die and the offspring of the villan name herself after them is meaningless. Sidous wins. Rey is a shithead.

I loved the episode! There’s beautiful themes here that you don’t often see in any other show. The difficulties of parenting; innocence of children and their proclivity to make mistakes and what it’s like to live under a tyrannical regime. I really enjoyed it and I too suspect that we’ll see Ahsoka and Rex
Two things I loved about this episode. 1. The show initially makes Wrecker kind of seem like a big dull brute, who only knows how to break stuff. But this episode you see wrecker operate on his own, and mature up when he needs to. For instance, the scene in the dock where Echo can’t get the boot unlocked, Wrecker snaps into gear without a word, says “Move” in the most focused way ever, and rips the boot off. I thought that was dope lol. He can really focus up when he needs to. 2. The clones, feel so threatening now. Yes, obviously because they’ve been manipulated by the chip, but also, because they’re still clones, they really haven’t lost their lethality. Plot armor aside; they’re no nonsense, smart, disciplined as ever, and can still shoot straighter than regular stormtroopers. (as evidenced by the 3 or 4 blaster shots landing on the box wrecker was shielding himself with.) it makes this show way more intense cause you know they likely won’t be easily duped when shit gets hairy. Hunter and the gang will have to be creative, lol.
I'm honestly more impressed than I thought I'd be with this series so far. Seeing Cut and his family back was something I've been wanting to see since forever. ... also, don't know about you but I'm appreciating a lot the little details of TBB so far. It's such a great glimpse into what life was like early on after TCW that the creator in me is taking down notes that could prove useful for my own stories. The chain code notion for one is certainly interesting so I hope we see more of the same build on this era's lore.
An amazing 2nd episode IMO. Nothing crazy happens, nothing really important, but a lot of great world and character building, along with the reintroduction of cut and suu which is great because 1. Everyone loves to see them and 2. Because by using already established characters it leaves more time to flesh out the main characters. By god Filoni is a amazing story teller
I don’t think Omega would have the same inhibitor chip as the clone troopers. Didn’t the Kaminoan say she was a medical assistant? She wouldn’t have military orders.
It is possible that they didn’t bother removing the chip from Omega, provided that Omega is a heavily modified Jango clone and not from another template.
I really like how “evil” the clones appeared in this episode. The unmarked armor, the similar voice, the similar attitude. It’s really off putting for the average person.
Theory: Crosshair is such an amazing clone that tarkin wants him to be cloned and when they try something goes wrong and it demorfs the faces and their vocal cords. They then become death troopers. This also proves the good aim
i hope this series follows rex trying to get as many clone commanders to remove their chips. I'd love to see how wolffe removed his, and maybe even give a proper farewell to cody by having rex trying to help him, but something goes wrong and cody ends up sacrificing himself to save the rest. That could explain why rex was having so many commander cody flashbacks in rebels
@@yvettebalata2248 he shouted "cody" when kanan was calling him. it only happened once so i probably shouldn't have said he kept having flashbacks haha

One part that I think should be noted is when that clone started to recognize Cut. The way he said "you look like..." seemed like it reinforced the idea that the clones had their minds almost completely reset and the idea of seeing a clone outside of the army had never crossed that clone since then. It's a really interesting touch in my opinion
@@GimmieTheJimmie The difference in that this was usually applied to only Coruscant guards since they never really on the frontline of combat compared to the rest of the clones. So you could say their programing still remain the same as oppose to frontline clones that developed personalities. Now all Clones are like that.
@@thitran1362 Them being on the frontlines doesn't make them all a people person. They have a strong sense of comradery amongst clones, but to average citizens, especially on just a police force, they just do their jobs, especially when the general public thinks that clones are freaks. We see this with how even regular clones treat the bad batch, as Tech remark that their behavior towards them is typical.
@@GimmieTheJimmie True, but I think the Coruscant Guard was a different case. It's not that they weren't frontline troops, but that their experiences were more security and control related instead of battlefield. They would have had less exposure to people in bad circumstances, and been more continuously trained in following the book and staying in order. Battlefield conditions allow for more opportunities for creative thinking and learning how and when to bend or break rules, and the Guard troops likely were kept away from most of it (at least until Palpatine was "kidnapped").
The only thing I kept shouting throughout the episode was"Daddy Hunter"! His moving into that role as Omega's parental figure was sweet, seeing how Cut did it before him, even thinking that he may not be up to it at first. I want to see how the other members settle into a more family lifestyle than a soldier squad.
I don't think any of the new series have "filler" in them. It's like putting a puzzle together when you can't see the picture. The pieces may not look like they go together, but in the end it completes the story. IMO Thanks for the break downs. You help me understand the connections and some of the big picture views.

Right now, I find omega really annoying.
@@vedangsinghal3038 Yeah she has her moments where she is frustrated and just getting in the way of the squad, but hopefully next ep we will find out more about her and make her more of an interesting character. After Ahsoka and Grogu, how could you have any doubts? I’m surprised you don’t trust Filoni with child characters by now.
One of the only things I don’t trust him with are stormtroopers, since he uses them for cheap gags instead of competent enemies.
@@disguisedcentennial835 let’s be honest, Stormtroopers haven’t been competent since A New Hope. And Ahsoka started off annoying in CW, remember?
You know it bad when they stopped calling each other nicknames and called each other by their CT number. So sad..

Ofc it is simply plot armor but it’s fun to come up with in-universe reasons for it
Almost like Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story 3
Instead of a factory reset, its more of a suppression imo. The limited degree of freedom due to the strict adherence to protocols makes them “robotic”. However, these clones are still human and the rationalization of each action will create tension and thereby decrease efficiency. The clones we know and love are experienced due to the many free decisions they can make and thus build individual personalities (along with the influence of the Jedi they serve under). Once that freedom and connection got lost and manipulated as betrayal, you get mindless drones that are somehow worse at doing their jobs. I mean… imo.

You are 100% correct. As a father, this episode and Omega herself really resonates with the parent in me.
I loved how the clones have lost their legion colours so quickly showing they are turning into stormtroopers
The clones remind me of season 5 clone wars when they are hunting ahsoka down just the way they are acting

The chain code notion for one is certainly interesting so I hope we see more of the same build on this era's lore.

One part that I think should be noted is when that clone started to recognize Cut. The way he said "you look like..." seemed like it reinforced the idea that the clones had their minds almost completely reset and the idea of seeing a clone outside of the army had never crossed that clone since then.
