Hendo was always an oddly built man. Just something slightly different in his torso and shoulders, the skinny legs, the way he moved... I can't quite describe it. A body that let him throw punches disproportionately more powerful than a guy in his weight class should have been able to.
Henderson had a neck injury. It fixed his shoulder in place and a little high. Also left his head with a tilt. When you watch his fight interviews you could see he had to rotate his entire upper body to look around, because he couldn't turn with his neck. He could throw that overhead bomb of his really well, but he wasn't physically capable of a variety of punches what with his injury.
The guy that I used to train with(small mma school in the Midwest) trained with quite a few different mma guys. He said the strongest guy he rolled with was Jake Shields. I was as surprised by his answer as you most likely are.
What was different? LOL. He was very very broad-shouldered, wrestled his whole life, and eventually made multiple World and Olympic teams in Greco Roman. He never looked like a bodybuilder but for him to be named the strongest by another fighter isn't all that surprising to me. Dan always looked "stiff" to me but that's probably because he wasn't very flexible. That doesn't mean he couldn't or would't be freakishly strong, which he was. I'd like to know as well, though I believe frank. He has no horse in the race here as he doesn't particularly like Ken. My best guess is that his second pro wrestling stint ruined Ken's body. Frank was a bad hombre
Frank may not have been strong but he has a 6th sense, type of intelligence.
I got the frank shamrock body. I have worked out my whole life. I will be 40 this year and my muscles have always been soft. My chest and arms look good but there is absolutely no density. I dont get it.
Because it’s not functional strength you just look aesthetically strong I remember doing jujitsu and rolled with this older guy I was in my early twenty’s this guy was mid thirties early forties and was strong didn’t look it but was solid as a rock I think he worked construction working hard makes you have that kind of strength pushing your body to the breaking point physically will do that
Lousy video insert; volume was too weak. Get some tech. Great points by Frank, though.
Shut up bozo
Audio was ok for me
Franks looks like he could be Dominic Cruze 's dad! Is it just me? Lol
Hendo is very strong but I remember watching him fight DC and he lifted him up and slammed him like a bag of hay. No one does that to Hendo except DC I was thinking
what did Tank say?
he got rag dolled by DC
Frank Shamrock is a true GOAT cantidate. Top 5 understand 200 pounds.
Dan Henderson has a very strong Greco Roman Wrestling based
dan hendo 185 pounds cannot get slammed by a heavy eating popeyes dc, cannot ever let that happen no matter the gap in weight class. There is a reason why dana white doesn't like frank shamrock and something is wrong. I don't like dana white either and can't wait for him to get his due but DC also picked up heavyweight josh barnett high in the air, no no no if you are josh barnett let alone hendo, you cannot let this kind of thing happen unless you have jiu jitsu like demian maia. frank shamrock doesn't like mma but he was very good at it. Lots of people in sports don't actually like their sport but they are and were very good at it that got them money. frank shamrock i am sure is very smart but hopefully he doesn't have something like narcissistic personality disorder or something like this. frank shamrock is a guy that i really want to like but i can't pinpoint exactly what is wrong, need to do more research, time and thinking
Are you ok? You answered your own question, Dan was a true 185er who went against a prime DC who was a high level Olympic grappler and former HW. DC wrestled 96kg and Dan wrestled at 82kg lol that’s a huge difference in size for wrestling so of course he’s going to get tossed around. But even Rogan has talked about how strong and durable Dan Henderson is, said shaking his hand is like grabbing a piece of Oak.
Wtf did I just read?
Bruh
What r u talkin about
cormier absolutely rag dolled hendo, it was hard to watch
The audio of the clip was terrible . Couldn’t hear a word .
Randy Couture said he had a Gorillas grip.
Ever since I heard frank leaving those dogs in the desert I don’t like him. I mean did he really do that
In all fairness, Tito rag dolled Ken very easily in their fights
Frank Shamrock is one of the most talented and influential MMArtists, and, I believe, the first all around talent.
His ability to teach and coach, and communicate in general, is on par with the best of all time. He is humble and funny and just a great interview as well.
The wrong Shamrock gets all the credit for the early days of MMA (not knocking Ken, it’s just my opinion)…
Dan is another TEMPO RUIM TEMPO TODO
DC took down the GOAT Cael Sanderson before, hes high levek and woukd toss around middleweights
Actually he lost you small brain
DC is amazing. There’s a video out there if Carl wrestling Kamaru Usman - Cael just destroys him. Levels
Took him down once? OK lol. Cael would still toss him all over the mat
@@forwardmoving8252 yeah dummy, one of the few ever to take cael down
Nah, DC vs Hendo was like grizzly bear vs vegan college student
Right! Didn’t Tito rag doll Ken?
But DC might be a top 5 pfp fighter tho.
Hendo was past his prime
@@jonthompson1068 they were both LHWs. Last time I checked they fought this fight at LHW. DC is short and used to wrestle in a middleweight like weight class.
Is Rampage 3 bills now?
Please explain how Tito was able to ragdoll Ken Shamrock if Shamrock was stronger?
When they first fought Ken Shamrock was like 41 or 42 years old. Tito retired from fighting the first time around the same age. Tito beat up on an old man in that sport and most people don't bring it up bc Ken was so good people didn't see it that way...but the man was over 40 come on. Father Time always wins.
Ken was injured too.
I'd like to know as well, though I believe frank. He has no horse in the race here as he doesn't particularly like Ken. My best guess is that his second pro wrestling stint ruined Ken's body. You can see that in the Otsuka fight where he tried to be a kickboxer - and actually did very well - and had a LOT of trouble taking Otsuka down, who was a blown up middleweight, if that.
Frank destroyed Ceasar Gracie in 16 seconds
Cesser Gracie would destroy you
@@jimh.412 lmao 🤣
Dollar store production value here
Rampage getting fat again?
@jimmicrackhead12 There goes an ad hominem....attack the person when you got no ground for your argument. That's very illogical & left side of brain warp... are you sure you are not homosexual?
You obviously don't know about MMA...bet you didn't even know that Frank was the first LHW in UFC history, did you jimmi? I''m not trying to pursuade your opinion, as I don't really care what you think....I'm doing it for the algorythmic suggestive compositions that others will receive when Frank Shamrock is mentioned enough. He is the real deal and deserving of all the accolades.
Tito didnt have the same functional strength as Ken? Tito manhandled Ken 3x
Old Ken
Yeah I honestly don’t think Ken was as strong as he looked . I mean, go watch his early fights - he never really bullied people around with his strength. Definitely a very strong guy but just not as strong as he would have you believe
And yes, Tito completely manhandled Ken. I’ll never forget watching that fight live with a friend whose favorite fighter was Ken 😝
Old versus prime
Frank looking like paw paw that lost his glasses
Crazy they Jackson to be a podcast just cuz his name. 😂 y’all do something and have something worth while. Seriously
Huh?
I wonder if he had a dream about Nick Diaz knocking him out before the fight.
