I'm an igorot from the Ifugao Tribe and today we are pretty much modernized. Igorots are further divided into sub-groups with different cultures and practices. Our traditional attire doesn't include modern clothes, (as shown in the pictures. And it differs according to your tribe.

The Waray is the most typhoon battered demographic in the Philippines. That's why by reputation they are called 'Maisog' (Fierce)

Your assumption about how they look like those tribes in Canada, is quite correct. The Mongols(East Asia) are related to Native Americans while The Austronesians (SouthEast Asians, Pacific Islanders and also Australia's Aborigines) are also related to those natives in South America. In a nutshell: Mulan is related to Pocahontas, Moana to Coco... and Raya is related to both Moana and Mulan😅

    • @Boondoxx
      @Boondoxx 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Not all South East Asians are Austronesian, i.e. Thais, Cambodians, Viets, Laotians, Burmese. Also Australian Aborigines are Australoid like the Negritos of ISEA, Papuans, and Melanesians, not Austronesian Mongoloid like Aboriginal Taiwanese, Indonesians, Malaysians, Pinoys, Micronesians, and Polynesians. Each one of these peoples have different degrees of Australoid DNA (Highest degrees found in Polynesians at about 20% on average) except for the Aboriginal Taiwanese who were the original Austronesians. I also don't see how Moana would be related to Coco in your Disney nutshell. Coco would be related to Pocahontas whos ancient ancestors would be the people of Siberia more so than Mulan who was of Han decent. While Moana is directly related to and came from Raya who is related Mulan, but Mulan is not related to Moana.

11:15 Igorot people are from the region CAR here in the Philippines, and for your question yes of course we know because we're living in a modern state. That video just showed the Igorot people who lived in the highlands of Cordillera representing our tradition and culture. But today, Igorot people are living in cities and other places in the Philippines, also in other countries. I'm an igorot and yes we live normally like you guys, we wear modern clothes too. Those pictures you saw was just showing what we igorots look like in our tribe in the past. I hope you understand :)

A lot of the tribes are getting more modernized as time goose but we strive to still preserve these through practice, festival, art, stories, ceremonies, etc.
The pictures you see are legit but mostly they are donning the tribal atire

We have relatives that are Igorot but majority of my mother's side of the family is Itneg. When my grandma moved in with us in the city when I was little, she brought some of her traditional outfits and she used to make me wear them and teach me the dances. I loved the clothes and the necklaces because they were so colorful. Fun times❤️. I've only been in Abra twice in my entire life, once when I was five and when we had to bury my grandma when I was in college. Rest in peace, innang😘

I'm here and proud to say I'm one of the LUMAD my tribe is T,BOLI
YEAH I super love our tradition and culture but here in Philippines T,BOLI
    is not will known
Like I'm here now in Manila
When I'm on the phone call with my mom
They stare at me like what???
Because they don't understand what's the word I'm speaking
And it's so hard and annoying to introduce and explainning myself my tribe and everything about it...
Again and again but they still don't understand

I'm the only one in my family who traveled farther N, S, E and W of the Philippines. Coast, Valleys, Hills, Mountains nothing beats California. I like Colorado and Vermont similar to Mountain ranges of the Philippines but far away from the coastline. And there are 49 US States that I have not traveled yet.

I'm really sorry guys but there is a lot of inaccuracy and discrepancy in the video you are watching right now.
It is a given because of the topics involved and the unverified sources used.
It all goes out as gibberish, no offense to the pronunciation which in turn defeats its' credibility doing any "info" video. Just saying, if one wants to share an "info" about something, the least one can do is to pronounce the name/s right.

Ophir isn't a Filipino word. Doesn't even sound like one. Doesn't even sound like it's from any Southeast Asian language or dialect. It's from the Bible so it's probably Hebrew that might have been translated into Latin. Just a guess.
Christianity didn't even exist in the Philippines until the Spaniards brought it here.
